To help anyone out on the strum pattern its DDD DU DU on Em7 DD DU on G DDDDon Dsus4 and UUU DU DU on Asus7 this is for the verse and the intro. the chorus the rythum changes a bit Its DDDD Cadd9 UUUDUDU Dsu4 and repeat it all on Em7

Good stuff. There's tons of instructions on this song, but few (none) have singing to go along with it. That's really the only way that I know that what you're doing is right, and not just something that sounds okay without vocals.

@tarochips3 all you have to do is use your thumb on the 2nd fret of the low e string, this gives you an F# note to use as the bass note of the D-chord! hope this helps.

the reason for a capo is to easely get a song intune with a persons voice,

iff you can not get your voice that high

just lower the capo position or remove it and forget playing with the original recording, just do your own thing
