Is there powder in most vail runs? Im from australia so even like 6 inches of powder would blow my mind, but how often would it get to like waist height?

if u go to vail hit up one of the less known peaks ull get some good powder with out having to walk if u want mor fun do tree runs

Only after a storm. Blue sky has best pow. Look in the trees as well. If you really want a powder experience, then you should look into Vail powder guides for 375$ they take you in snowcat into back country for day of your life. Unless your a pro. check out there website

oh the bowls are the worst, only tourists ride their. You just gotta know where to go, you can find powder 3 to 4 days after a good dump

Ya, I usually skip the back bowls and head strait to Blue Sky. I really don't understand why the back bowls are so famous. On a normal day, their either icy or slushy. If there's a big dump, the powder is usually either crusty or slushy, all because it faces south... not to mention it's usually crowded

it depends on if you can board steep stuff, like blacks and double blacks, but if you can do that i think you can board the back bowls.

im from new jersey and i just went to colorado for the first time march 08 and had the greatest time ever. little hard to breath, but it was great. montezuma's bowl was a lot of fun. the first time i went back country i was a little nervous. im used to vermont and the poconos.
