Problems with MS,is every time that make windows "simpler" they make the back end even more disorganized. In win7 go turn off hidden files and brows your user setting and see what i mean. Half the folders are dummy shortcuts for compatibility. Makes it very hard to navigate.

Since 2000, they use the NT kernel, which comes from NT4.0 (But was really upgraded since then.)

The 95 kernel (Used in Win95,98 and ME) is basically dead.

And, with 7, we got a total rewrite of the NT kernel from scratch.
