I'm all for her healing ... I bought her book and read it cover to cover. Very sad story and again SHE knew having sex with her farther was wronge EVEN WHEN SHE WAS NOT HIGH and continued for 10 years doing heavy drugs and having sex with her farther and many many other people. I have one child who has selective mutism, and can barely speak a word, and a younger child who is the most confident boy you could ever know, thank G-d, all children are raised differently, treated differently by each parent, and girls are more exploited than boys. I completely believe her, and you do not know what it's like to be in her shoes and why she continued to have this relationship with her father, it's not something you understand, so I don't see how you can make judgements as such.

If her father did this disgusting thing to her why is she still defending him as a "good person?" She should have stuck with the incest story, but to say that she continued in a consensual relationship with your own father is disgusting. With all the drugs she consumed it's hard to believe her story. She's 50 years old and if she really wanted to help other children in incestuous relationships, she should have spoken up 30 years ago. If she's trying to sell her book, I won't even buy it.

What's interesting is that she said "I woke up having sex with my dad", weird choice of words. She should have said "I woke up while my dad was raping me". Having sex implies consent. Maybe she did consent to it the first time but don't remember it? You don't get raped by your father, confront him about it the next day, and then decide on pursuing the sexual relationship. This doesn't make any sense. There are a few holes in this story. I'm not convinced she didn't agree to it from the get go.

I know some therapists will encourage you to write about past traumas as to get over them. I think its a good idea. Im not so sure about going public about a incestuous relationship and drug dependence as to advertise your book, though.
