  • just WOW... ERIC is truly amazing... Actually it's not about who he's with while singing or how husky or rasp his voice is.. this is for a cause.. and ERIC have such a very big heart for performing here.. I'm touched with his performance... He's the best!! Look at how he made the audience feel.. Just amazing... :)

(and....... He will always be the best vocalist/singer..EVER!!!!)

  • Eric should never cut this hairstyle again! It's too OLD for him! ;)

  • @pokewindwaker

ahahaha.... agree,he really looks like daddy, old. his not that rockin' without his band, the band cant catch up his voice power. mr big in a whole member really rockin.

  • Troy Luccketta on drums sweet and eric martin rulz als always

  • he's still good! same as ever!\

  • Eric's voice is still good. I'm not sure about his high notes, but he's healthy (very healthy!). If he had sung it alone it would've been better. Backin' vocal's not good and the guitar solo, although decent, not even close to Gilbert's.

  • eric martin is really a good singer, he can sing rock ballad in a very decent way.. ive been to mr. big the reunion in singapore and he looks very young in person, he looks 20 years old or younger

  • Eric is timeless! when you got it you got it..nice

  • he needs to fire that backup vocal dude. he's awful. good thing eric's much much better

  • the dude ruined the solo lol but Eric is great!

  • February 2008

  • when was this?

  • yes it's gary hoey

  • isn't the guitarist gary hoey?

  • Backin vocals sucks... This guitar player is amazing, his solo is sincerely great. Eric martin save this song !

  • hahahaha poor guitar player!!

  • geiler song

  • that guitar player cant match gilbert !

  • no one can match Paulo Gilberto!

  • Vocals sound great...i just wonder why that guy thought he could improve on Paul Gilberts little solo.

  • those are pretty bad backin vocals haha basically talkin the lyrics....leave that kind of stuff to Cash

  • VH1 couldn't afford some fucking decent back up singers! X D

  • it wasn't vh1 who put on the concert, but i know what you mean :D

  • Damn He can still sing amazingly well. Not the case for so much of the 80's rockers.

  • His voice i amazing

  • One if my favorite singers. He's just so good

  • 2:44 is cool

  • wats up with the backing vocals?

  • Comment removed

  • Sometimes when bands like Mr Big get so good, it's hard to know where to go from there. They were just too much talent for one band.

  • Man I loved this song when I was a kid!

  • really great voice from eric, he did a great job but lame back-up vocals...

  • 1:27 is this Ari Lehman on keyboard who played Jason Voorhees in first Friday The 13th ??

  • one of the greatest voice in rock history..still nobody sounds like him in any music industry..

  • Truly unique voice. only ones to compare are female voices like Linda Perry and Anouk. They both have exemplary masculine voices for females, while Eric MArtin has that feminine touch to his kitty growl :D

  • @duremdes19 Have you ever heard bout Taylor Hanson??..it jsut sound like if he was his son...trust me....theres some tones on their voices and the way they say the words that is very similar....check him out and you will see...eric is def a special singer with a special and disnctive voice but when you hear Taylor you just go 'wow' too.

  • @xcarmox OMG, no, they have a similar edgyness to their voices, but no way is that Taylor dude anything like Eric... his voice & talent are unparalleled... Taylor does not wow me, he is ok... that's it~

  • @Suzisueful Well, tay is sounding like this since hes 13...dont know about eric thouh...but we are not here to say whos better and whos not...iam sayin they sound very similar...just that.

  • @xcarmox No, it's all a matter of opinion, but of course, if you'd ever heard Eric live, (Which, I don't know whether or not you have,) I did see him last week, & even after 2 & a half hrs, I still couldn't get enough. Taylor is ok though. I don't think they sound much alike-just the edgyness. Eric always sounded like this too, this song in fact? He wrote when he was 16!

  • @Suzisueful Is not about opinion, we know when a singer is better than the other...but iam no gonna say tay is best, cause theres thousands of singers singing outherem no one cant pick the best singer...but i know eric got a more powerfull voice than tay, can hit the notes with more strengh..theres no doubt bout that...i was just sayin that the raspiness on their voices are similar...but i think in erics case its a mather of a more head voice...he can choose to sound like that or not...

  • ...in his covers album, when hes singing woman singers' hits, hes a totally diferent singer...he doesnt have that raspiness anymore...which leads me to think that the raspiness he does is not vocally natural..cause when a singer sings like if they have sand on their throats (ex: rod stewart, Bonnie Tyler ) they usually sing as they talk in a normal conversation...

  • @xcarmox Hmmm... I do agree with some of what you say, though, I do believe the raspiness does come very naturally- I'm sure you've heard his talking voice, although maybe not entirely, "Raspy," It's got a solid huskiness to it, which is very similar. He is a soulful singer, I believe it's an even mix of head and diaphram. He's definitely not as noticeable when he talks, (To those you pointed out as examples!) But when he is getting intense in conversation, it becomes more obvious. ;-)

  • ..to me tay's rasp is more natural than erics..cause hes just been sounding like that since like 10/12 years old..you dont have yet the maturity to know what sounds cool or no on that age and tays is doin that since that age...while erics in my opinion just learned how to do it, cause hes able to put out many voices...i find him very talent, he really knows what hes doin..shouldnt say this but i rip all his discorahpy from net, but mainly because he got that rasp, naturally or not, still good.

  • @duremdes19 You are SO right, just saw him w/Mr. Big last week, and his voice is still unmatched, he is so amazing!!! He gives me chills...

  • His voice still amazing!!!!!Thank u for the video!!!!

  • Eric Martin is amazing, this song is timeless and his voice is amazing

BUT that guitar solo needed to be done paul gilbert style for this song to be complete not some new less cool solo y did u let that guy have a go eric come on man thats diddly shit compared to the original. ps eric rocks :P

  • he still sounds wonderful!

  • legend, simply the best voice. at his age like on this video his voice still like this! Amazing!

  • Nighthawk584, couldn't agree more. Eric's one of my top 5 singers of all times.

  • is that Gary Hoey on lead guitar?

  • i believe that is

  • I Love Eric Martin... One of my favourites singers with for example Baz, Tom Keifer

  • To all the punks on American Idol...This is what a real singer/songwriter sounds like..And he is in his 40s. One of the best underratted singers of all time.

  • Exactly. Eric is terribly underrated for both his vocal ability and songwriting. Just an amazing talent. If anyone has the chance to go see him live, GO.

  • Even I dont know whats the exact reason he is so much underrated. May be, he did not fell into the taste of Americans and Europeans. Where as in Asia, he is rocks in everyones heard.

  • eric martin forever...

  • EXCELLENT!

  • it not the same as it was when the whole band was together

  • Great song!!!

  • his voice will always be amazing regardless of age!!

    still hot too ;)

  • couldnt agree more with both, i may be a male, totally straight but im not ashamed to say ive still got a crush on mr martin.

  • eric genius!

  • Eric is born to sing on big stage (arena), but not in the small clubs! Eric is a nightingale! Real singer!

  • Does anyone know who the guy all the way the the left with blonde hair is? It looks like Mark Bonilla.

  • he is from cta.. I think he told me chicago to.

I know the band is cta helping eric martin

  • Thanks! That is Mark Bonilla then. He is soooooo talented. CTA is California Transit Authority. Some of the original members of Chicago (then called Chicago Transit Authority) are in the band.

  • yes I was driven then around all day we stayed at the same hotel there really nice guys and down to earth

  • i meant recorded

  • he just made a great concert even greater. one of the best and nicest songs ever to be record

"just to be the next to be with you."
