im going to the doctors tomorrow in a way hopefully i have it so i can begin to get back on track, already lost a lot of friends who were sick of my suicide attemps
This is sooooo me when I'm manic! Then, I crash and I can't really talk clearly for days, like it's the total opposite, like I can't find the words. Thanks for making the video.
@CydneyCulligan Prozac does not work for mania, he needs a mood stabilizer for bipolar. Prozac is not for people for that are bipolar....example above!
You talk fast. I don't talk too fast. I get what you're saying. My issue is my thoughts are racing and I have different types of grand ideas each day.
@melisified The only way to cure your problem is to think through every possible thought and then, being left with nothing to realize you will be 100% cured, promise.
Don't take prozac it makes bipolar symptoms wayyyy worse.. I took it for four years and now and it made my condition more severe. Prozac is an anti-depressant only treats clinical depression. It is not the right medication for manic depression believe me
I do not have bipolar I have agoraphobia and anxiety, self harm, OCD, your video made me want to hug you not freak me out and wish to god the stupid medical society would focus more on fixing agoraphobia, anxiety and in your case bipolar rather than depression, something they seem fixtated on.
Please, do not ever think your craz, I semi understand how bad it feels bit it is a chemical imbalance, it's not you, not who you are, if you ever need to talk I am here.
i think i have bipolar coz i just feel depressed all the time, and like you said when i wake up i feel extremely tired, til like late afternoon and its really frustrating.
dude, thanks for posting this! Im a med student and was reading up on a lecture on bipolar disorder, , this really helped me visualize the actual disorder
this is a legit manic episode, you can't fake this. not to second guess your doctor but ssri's can induce manic episodes. i would ask about lamictal, its an awesome mood stabilizer which focuses on the depressive episodes.
i stutter all the time and people don't get that I am bipolar and they love saying things like "hey, wanna repeat that" and with the way my word jumble together i move like that --- i will move and switch and want to go one say and i do this with tests and eveything all my actions and movements and words
It really sucks when you can't slow the fuck down. Your mind feels hot, like it's been on overdrive. I just experienced something similar back in Feb. and ever since then both alcohol, and weed are not taking the same way they used to for me, I really got to find out more about this shit. I'd hate to lose my mind and trip up again.
I really hope you are on a medicine that works for you, how are you doing now? My husband is bipolar and it is very hard to deal with. It's a tough disorder becuase it is so up and down.
thanks for this. having had manic episodes myself i know that this is definitely authentic, your hand gestures and stuttering remind me of my demeanor when i was hospitalized, and yup, the racing thoughts are fun and creative until they get into hyperdrive and you feel like your head is going to explode. sucks that people who dont naturally have this happen to them feel like forcing it through hallucinogens or other drugs, because having to deal with it is terrible.
I don't studder but instead I say a bunch of words smeared together that make no sense or my mind goes blank. I hate it! I can't imagine what an antidepressant would do to me...I took SAMe (supplement for depression) once and went apeshit!!!
this video is great. its very rare that people in the manic stage of bipolar can have the concentration to do a video. i am in nursing school researching bipolar disorder and this has helped me understand this disorder. thank you and good luck with everything!
SSRI antidepressants don't really help anybody. They mask symptoms for a while but at the same time they lead to serotonin depletion so they actually compound and worsen the very condition they are claimed to "treat".
Thanks for sharing. I'm starting to think I might be bipolar (always had mental health problems and these days one day I'm hyper and feel great and the next I'm majorly depressed and can't be bothered getting out of bed - but maybe I'm just overreacting and letting myself get out of hand) and things like this are a great help
I was diagnosed with Body Dysmorphic Disorder 6 months ago. I went to my psychiatrist one day and I told him the Zoloft wasn't working, he then raised the dosage and I got exactly like this. I was so scared that I stop taking it and never looked back.
i think this guys fakin tbh seriously ever heard of the power of suggestion? ie someone gets told their bipolar and they suddenly start noticing all the symptoms
Furthermore, the way to treat bipolar depression is by eliminating mania. In theory, the depression is caused by mania. I have never had depression that was not preceded by mania.
Prozac will cause mania in manic depressives (bipolar).
If you are no longer having manic symptoms, but depression resides, you can try a mild anti-depression treatment.
Note: I'm not a doctor. I do have bipolar disorder and I'm on lithium and depakote. Always talk to a doctor pertaining medication changes.
You gotta get off that prozac. WTF kind of doctor are you seeing?
There are 3 categories of bipolar drugs. You try 1 or 2 of each before you mess around.
Lithium is alone in its category.
Depakote and Lamictal are the best of the anti-convulsant category. You may take 1 of these with lithium.
Risperdal, Seroquel, Abilify, etc, are anti-psychotics. They are highly effective, but have a terrible, permanent side effect. They can be taken in conjunction with the other two types.
Hey dude, how goes things now after you did this video? I hope you are not offended if I say this, but I was looking up the whole area of manic phase of the bipolar disorder. Reason being was because I was trying to find an example from youtube on how people, with manic phase, are violent. It's part of my psychology class. Don't worry dude, I'm not weirded out by your video, if you want weird -- or possibly creepy -- try hallucinations. They're no fun.
Wow, definitely a drastic change from your usual behavior, from what I've seen. I hope you can get your meds adjusted to prevent this from happening too often.
Go take that run, lift some weights, put on loud music and dance. Just stay outta your car =)
Prozac is not good for mania! You need a mood stabilizer.

Well, it's nice to see you not depressed, I guess. Although, I have to admit, this manic thing is a little worrying too.
They say being sleepy all the time is a symtom of depression, BTW.
Also, what do you study?
