  • i only came here because i saw the main guy testing out a babicz guitar. so far, all good :)

  • These guys dont get the attention they deserve they are a great concept album/ modern progressive rock band! Listen and look at this guys guitar playing it is crazy!!!!

  • Great song!!

  • 4:26 What is the drummer from Tool doing?

  • I would give almost anything to see Three and Coheed in concert together. That would be best night of my life by far.

  • @SCarsonSOAD We just had both bands a few nights apart at the Festival d'Été de Québec! ;-)

  • @Fairlight60 So lucky! :D

  • I love Coheed, but this is incomparable. Eppard is a way better singer and guitarist, and their songs are significantly more technical/ progressive. It's like everything I liked about Coheed is better here.

Though I've yet to hear anything from 3 with the same epic feel of, say, The Crowing or The Light and The Glass.

  • @herzeleid7213 eppard is a good guitrist one of the best i've seen and these guys are tied to coheed , but he is no where near a better guitarist than claudio . sure Eppard does phenomenal things in his songs that claudio doesn't with the acoustic, but claudio can do the exact same shit . and Travis is just as good a guitarist as Billy Riker . Coheed doesn't really show all their musical skill in their studio music . its all displayed in a live standing . but three and coheed are my equal favs .

  • Wow... Claudio Sanchez and Joey Eppard have two VERY similar voices.

  • 4:11 Bottle l..l, oh yeah and the drummer

  • this is a BAND!

  • damn it. now I wanna listen to 3 in my car while I go to school. (1 hour commute) But all I have is St. Vincent and Opeth,(and some Blitz the ambassador) Guess I'll just have to switch Opeth out and St. Vincent out periodically to try to get the same effect.

  • haha no one has posted on this for a year.. so im just gonna say.. 3 ROCKS!

  • stfu crowd, u fat loud fucks, great song

  • This album is incredible and this is the song that got me hook on their sound. So unique. No one sounds quite like these guys.

  • Its all personal preference... personally I think claudio's farts sound better than joey's singing voice. Both great bands.

    Now pay the troll toll.

  • awesome stuff

  • crowd stfu!

  • Seriously, these guys need to hurry up and tour the UK already

  • the guitar player is my uncle bully

  • This dude vs. Claudio Sanchez in a guitar battle. I would PAY to see that shit.

  • claudios good. but this guys at like at steve vai.s level

  • Yeah I'm pretty sure Claudio Sanchez bows to Eppard (Joey, of course, not Josh)

  • Claudio used to be a huge 3 supporter when the band was Joey, Josh and Chris Bittner. Shabutie and 3 used to frequently play shows all throughout the Hudson Valley together. Mutual influences on each other

  • @CaptainAwesome18

This guy (Joey Eppard) would win. He's the guy that taught Claudio to play guitar. Coheed's drummer is this guy's younger brother.

  • H easily smashes Claudio. Ive seen both bands live numerous times and love Coheed dearly but no. 3 is amazing live and this dude uses no pick. Voice smooth as butter, CD quality every time.

  • That was fucking amazing

  • omg...no pick holy fuck

  • Joey is one of the greatest american songwriters of all times !

  • yes you are

  • are you gay?

  • yeah, these guys kick

  • i saw these guys live twice. the last 1 i went to they played not one... not two... but THREE songs as an encore. Joey went insane at the end of amaze disgrace. it was awesome!

  • Such musicianship. I've been a fan for years but always manage to miss them when the roll through my city. :[

  • I'm crazy about this song.......goodbye number one!

  • I saw the opening the "Progressive Nation" tour. While I was there to see Dream Theater, I was really impressed with Three. In fact, I just found this cd. It is really good.

  • Agreed!

  • did the same thing. they blew me away.

  • I was the same too.

  • Same too. Wake pig is good too

  • probly the only band where the discusion is possitive

  • Seriously.

I think anybody with a set of ears can enjoy 3.

  • Too good

  • Saw them on the Prog Nation tour and aside from Dream Theater, they were the tightest sounding band that night. Their albums are killer.

  • i saw them there too. when they came on stage no one new who they were. they stole the show from every other band. joey epard out played petrucci for sure.

  • I'd have to disagree. Their styles are so different that you can't really compare the two... plus they have different focuses: Petrucci's is on the electric, Eppard's is acoustic. I'm not sayin' one is better than the other... they're just different.

  • agreed. if you're talking raw crazy finger speed you gotta give it to petrucci though. some of the shit he does is simply jaw dropping. i don't think he's that great of a songwriter though. some good stuff here and there.

  • The end is begun is an epic album. amazing band.

  • seriously if ur here to bitch about other bands than y are here at all?-just listen to the music and like it - i mean this is good :D

  • Are you that stupid? Seriously going on a random video of a band You Fucking know You dont like, and just throwing out that you don't like Flamenco/Classical Guitar. Idiot.

  • Real Talent? And just what do you consider real talent? Really, I'm curious. You're telling me classic heroes like Andres Segovia, Django Reinhardt had no talent because of either flamenco or classical guitar styles? You are a complete idiot.

  • awesome trolling lol

  • This is an awesome performance, as are all the other vids from this concert! I'm disappointed TheXPatient finds it neccessary to pitch the whole comments page into a playground spitfight though... Just comment on the video instead of trying in vain to gain some respect by typing FAG.

  • joey played drums with coheed and cambria for a spell...these guys used to play around the new paltz, ny area quite a bit back in the day and were tight with my friend timmy (who plays a very similar style of guitar to josh...) 3 rocks. 'nough said.

  • no, Josh played drums with Coheed, Joey is this guy.

  • joey has an almost latin sounding style when he plays...its really fucking awesome!!! i love 3

  • im gonna change the subject back to how great 3 is. especially live. ive seen them 4 times since my last post, and they kill it every time. Too bad the 2nd percussionist, Joe, has left the band, hopfully for a short time only. The past year has brought 3 to the ears of many new fans of the band, usually upon the first time hearing tracks like these. spread the word with pride, these guys are the real deal and deserve to be huge!

  • Where can you find concerts of theirs?? The site only goes to like 06..

  • What is he tuned to? I have all of Billy's parts learned for this album, but I REALLY want to learn Joey's. Anyone know?

  • and BTBAM Is Just crazy but they also are just so progressive that they sound a lot better then they are its mostly in part of the drummer Im sure

  • BTBAM isn't Prog at all. They're actually Nu Metal....

  • btbam is progressive.

  • No. Its Metal/Screamo.

  • Screamo? Get off the internet or use it to do some research.

  • I went to Prog. Nation. All I hear when they got on were screams, and "Metal" that sounded a lot like Screamo. Just because they're on Progressive Nation doesn't mean that they are Prog 100%

  • dude they are prog screamo is like bullet for my valentine and gay shit bttbam can actually play well and they rock live

  • Prog Screamo doesn't exist.

Both of you fail at spelling, and like SHIT bands. (at The XPatient. KM only likes Screamo Metal, but cant accept it)

  • dude why do you keep saying fail your such a fag dude and what the fuck are you gay "both of you fail at spelling" who gives a fuck your a retard

  • and bttbam is prog, screamo is like bullet for my valentine and idk gay bands that i dont listen to i like good shit, your a fag. now shut the hell up because every time you think I feel worst for your parents you fag

  • All you're insults say is "your a fag" and "you think I feel worst for your parents you fag"

Fail. BTBAM is not in Prog. Look it up dumb-ass.

  • HAHAHA you blocked me that means I won fag

  • Even you said that saying that "I won" Is from a 3rd grader. Get a life. Start putting up good arguments.

  • k koo.

  • He doesn't use glue. Use periods. Learn some good insults. your an asshole. He uses no glue. I went to their concerts, and he moved his strum hand a shitload far from the guitar. Also, That's flamenco dumb-ass. Little or no movement on the fret hand. idiot. Blink182 is a shitty pop band who tries to be underground. They're music sounds like music played at cartoon parties. Dumb-shit.

  • seriously, just stop. this shit is getting old. I came to watch the goddamn video, and i walk across ANOTHER flame war! youtube never changes......

  • @mazegolfs it's the reason why I usually don't read comments anymore. I'ts usually totally irrelevant to the subject. I only see lots of expression of ego not so much meaning full comments.... I think it's sad.

  • @mazegolfs That's the beauty of it!!!

  • not to be a dick but btbam's new music is prog...

listen to it..their older albums like silent circus are more on the death metal/metalcore side but colors is prog through and through...

  • You make good points. I hate BTBAM and Opeth, because that aint my kind of music.

    Peace

  • screamo is little emo kid shit like silverstein dumb fuck

btbam may scream, but they are prog listen to the guitar lines and how they blend several different genres idiot, and plenty of metal screams just because they dont follow the whole metallica mold doesn't make them screamo

  • yeah they are prog nu metal what the hell is that, gay!like all you fags and who said it was metal screamo what a tool!

  • thank you.

  • I like screamo metal now? You have gone from calling them nu metal, to screamo metal? Great example of a contradiction. Listen to colors and tell me they aren't progressive. That album shows examples of at LEAST 5 genres, not to mention they transition every single song on the album as one. How much more progressive can you get? You can't copy and paste any section of a btbam song and put it in a different spot and have the song sound the same. No repetition. Perfect transitions. Progressive.

  • I dont listen to BTBAM. I dont know BTBAM's shit as much as you. Scream Metal=Nu Metal. I respect you. At least you can put up a good argument instead of "HAHAHA UR A FAG!~!!!!!!111!!!"

  • learn what terms you're using before you spew them out...nu metal is more like slipknot and crap like that, which between the buried and me sounds nothing like

  • someone called BTBAM Numetal? lol!

  • Picture it...

    NOW TOURING!!

    Between the Buried and Me

    Slipknot

    Mudvayne

  • Korn, Limp Bizkit, Disturbed and BTBAM

  • i'm with this guy, fred dirst jumpin around during son's of plunder. priceless. definately headlined by three

  • He's not that great he uses glue to help him hit all the strings its just a technique that i think he over uses, but it does sound bad ass he just can't rely on that

  • He doesn't go off and listen to Muse kid. you know nothing.

  • I know more than you id rape you at guitar

  • what kinda glue?

  • im not sure but my friend met him at prog nation and said thats what joey said

  • joey doesnt get enough credit hes an incredible guitarist and an imaculate singer HOLY SHIT!

  • unlike josh lol

  • couldnt agree more, gmc garry, ive realized that its not worth arguing with people that dont know anything about great music, or any music for that matter. Three deserves soo much more recognition, theyre astounding live. Im so glad theyre from my home town, Hudson River Valley, NY. See these guys now while you can for under 20 bucks,..id pay 50. rock on!

  • I need a tab for this. Got one? I've checked websites and fansites for some, but they are all lacking. Message me if you have some or know of some. 3 is such an amazing band. Joey Eppard has all the guitar skills.

  • thy're gunna go far

  • foda!queria que tocassem em aracaju um dia!=D

  • these guys are awsome....go check out my drum cover for all that remains...peace...

  • incredible they put on such an amazing show

  • Seen them live with Opeth and it opened my eyes to this band. I had never heard of them before. But now I'll catch their shows anytime I can because they were freggin awesome.

  • I saw this band on the Progressive Nation tour in Seattle, and they pretty much stole the show. They got a standing ovation at the end of their set, they only time in my life i've ever seen an opening act do so. Three Rocks!!!

  • They got a standing ovation the entire duration of thier set at the show i went to (NYC 5/22/08)

But that was because there was no seats in the venue :)

But 3 is amazing and we all loved it.

  • in progressive nation was the first time i saw these guys and they were great! but heard them in studio and not so great...

  • I was never impressed with anything cd wise by these guys. It's good, I know it's good, I can tell musically these guys are good and they'are all great at their instruments, but it never caught on with me. I saw them at prog nation before BTBAM and holy crap, one of the best live bands I have ever seen, easily. Definitely going to work on making the recording stick with me more, because these guys are incredible to watch. I would go see them anytime they came to Jacksonville.

  • i saw them at the hard rock live and they were amazing as well and so were BTBAM opeth and dream theater.

  • thats where i saw them. hard rock is an awful venue, we started a bit of movement during white walls and security kicked like 10 people out.

  • BTBAM were absolutely awful. Like possibly in the top five worst bands I've ever heard. Like right 1 step above greenday

    # was absolutely phenominal, so I've going to buy some albums from them. Joey's guitar is so skilllllled

  • Sorry that is meant to say 3, not "#"

  • BTBAM is incredible, you're a very ignorant person for saying that. look up "backwards marathon live" on youtube. incredible live performance.

  • heehee

While I'm fine with you disagree, I'm afraid I must challenge your definition of ignorant. Ignorance and musical aste are two totally different things. If you'd like to insult my personal taste, then hell ya! open season on that :D

But I'm afraid my ignorance has not been proven as of yet, although I'll be the first person to admit that I possess that characteristic! Either you're totally clairvoyant or you simply mispoke. Option A. would be neat though :D

  • i meant ignorant(lack of knowledge) in the way that you said they're in the top 5 worst live performances you've ever seen. they must have had food poisoning that night then. because everyone i know has LOVED between the buried and me live because it's an incredible show. i saw them before i was even into them and was BLOWN away. i've heard great things about 3's live performance as well. i'm just saying check out some of btbam's live videos. their sound is FLAWLESS.

  • well as long as you give them respect for their outrageously high amount of talent, then i can't really criticize you. if you like metal and you like prog, then i ,personally, think it's impossible to not like between the buried and me. they're the most versatile-talented band i have ever heard in my entire life. i just think they deserve i lot of respect for their breath-taking innovation. listen to "ad a dglgmut" 3:05/4:28 = BREATHTAKING.

  • "Absolute crap"? I would never argue about musical taste, but to use language like this in describing one of the best acts I've heard in years (live or otherwise) would indicate to me that there's a disconnect between what your ears are hearing and what your brain is perceiving. It may have been caused by the fact that you have a limited understanding of music. "Absolute crap" is something an ignorant person would say when describing the sound of a language he does not speak.

  • As far as I'm concerned the whole genre is absolute crab, and they aren't any worse or better than others. It's not music, it's just yelling and screaming. It may take skill but I don't like it and hence, it sucks. Simple, really.

  • For some reason, your comment was listed on the first page, out of sequence, and it seemed as if you were talking about 3. I'm not a huge fan of cookie monster vocals either, but I wouldn't deliberately insult that genre or their fans by saying "it sucks".

  • 3 is one of the best band out now. The slap/flamenco hybrid technique they use is just amazing, using a drummer and a percussionist is also on of the highlights. Even if you don't like the genre (what genre? 3 sound unique!) musically they are incredible.

  • I'm talking about BTBAM not 3. Three is amazing and I have high rspect for them. BTBAM sounds like the band members having sex with each other on their instruments and recording the sound it makes.

  • oo, then i stand corrected :D

  • Ya no worries, much of the conversation is on other pages so it does for sure look like I'm criticizing 3...which I'd never do, I fell in love when I saw them down here in Miami opening for DT.

  • on the Prog Nation Tour? haha man im uber jelous right now, theres just no way theyll ever come to Ireland

  • 'just yelling and screaming'? are you even from this planet or something?

Joey Eppard sings...and beautifully i might add

bottom line is YOU need to wake up..and get a better music taste

  • Hey, I think you should read what I said before flaming. My comments were about BTBAM not 3/Joey Eppard. I find Eppard's singing to be phenominally skilled and meets mymusical tastes.

  • some them at hard rock to it kinda sucked as a venue but we were in the front so it was awesome

  • Flawless.

  • These guys are soooo cool. So innovative and original. I hate their guitars though. An Ovation and a B.C. Rich? lol

  • Ovation I can understand but I hate BC Rich

  • dude he is the only person i can ever respect that plays B.C. Rich. billy riker is just so hardcore he doesnt care that only really metal people play them.

  • I saw Three for the first time at the Tabernacle last night on the Progressive Nation tour. Holy shit. Amazing.

  • I couldn't agree with you more. I was blown away by 3. I hope they make it to the Big Easy - We'll be waiting!!

  • Ya i was there too, i had never heard them before and they blew me away. Where did you sit(or stand)?

  • Front and center - 3 people back from the stage. Sold from the very beginning. This band is on their way to the top.

  • Yeah I was at the Atlanta show on Wednesday also, and at the Miami show on Friday and was just amazed by '3'. They were hanging out in the lobby after their set in Miami -- a really friendly group of guys; I hope they catch on and get some well deserved recognition.

  • same here, me and a buddy were in the front left corner hanging on the rail that was set up

  • Saw them with DT in DC.. I was suprised

  • They're like the technical talent of Dream Theater mixed with the musical prowess of The Beatles--obviously, this means that they need to sacrifice a bit of showboating to be musical and they need to sacrifice a bit of musical-ness for showboating, but I think they're a great mix.

  • I've got that Bass!

  • I Saw 3, Btbam, opeth, and DT in New York last week. I really enjoyed this band. I had to buy their album.

  • Joey Eppard (Three), Paul Waggoner (Between the Buried and Me) and John Petrucci (Dream Theater) have to be three of the most talented, insane and most awesome guitar players right now, and seeing them in a same show has to be something unbelievable, I only got to see Paul Waggoner and John Petrucci but I would've love to see Joey Eppard too :(

  • *cough* Mikael Akerfeldt *cough*

  • not as much as his lead guitar

  • Yeahh I love Opeth too and Mikael Akerfeldt is awesome too but technically Eppard, Waggoner and Petrucci are way better (as guitar players) than Akerfeldt and I'm not insulting Opeth for those who think I'm throwing shit to Opeth, Opeth is one of my favorite bands, and Akerfeldt maybe not as a guitar player but as a musician is a fuckin' god

  • Saw them last night in Montreal - Le Medley with Opeth, They went from me not knowing them to one of my favorite bands! insane live!

  • I was there! The sound was impeccable; I listened to some 3 before, but that show really got me into em. I got a shirt signed after, they were hanging out at the sales booth.

  • Yea I was there too. It was my first time ever hearing their music and I thought it was great. Wasn't that acoustic slap solo sick?!

  • Yeah; you're talking about the one they segued right into after another song? If so, that was Bramfatura off their Wake Pig album.

  • Saw these guys last night at Prog Nation Boston. Absolutely blew me away.

  • me too. i saw them in oregon. i can't believe i never knew about these guys. they're my 2nd favorite band next to opeth

  • 3:38- 4:03 is my favorite part!!

  • Saw them in Detroit on the PN 2008 tour as well, also while they were touring with Porcupine Tree in Nashville and Cincinnati, stole the show every time. Best band I have every seen perform live, and easily one of my fav bands of all time now. and the guys are great to talk to too!

  • Saw these guys on Progressive Nation 2008 in detroit, columbus and cleveland. AMAZING band

    Pretty cool guys as well.

  • God listens to 3. The End is Begun = best song evar.

  • i say them at on the Pergressive nation tour this week and the were amazing!!!

The lead singer ripped all the strings off his guitar with one hand! they are nuts! the drummer is really nice too
