I'm 5'4", 135 lbs, & I just picked up a 148cm to ride park.
when I didn't know anything about sizes, I was riding all mountain with a 155 cm lol and surprisingly I was still hitting rails, boxes, and jumps but was kinda difficult.
ha ha ha! i am a 6'5" 210lb noob with a 130cm board... am i an idiot? i was actually doing better than most of the other snowboarders in my town. i actually went farther than everyone else. also, my shoes go an inch and a half over the board on both sides.
honestly guys hes not saying wat you need to get hes also saying that wat ever suits your type like for me! im 13 and i have a 130 inch burton hero. i like freestyle so a shorter board is better for me!
hey im about 5 ft and like 135pounds im 12 yrs old so im still gonna grow im intermediate/begginner and i want a whole mt board my snowboot size is 10 wat would be a good board for me
what factor about me determines how long the board should be? im 5'11, 145 lbs, size 12 boot, im looking into getting a never summer evo. but idk what size it shud be other than a 260 width
Hey Sierra i'm 5'9 154 pounds i just picked up a Travis rice pro board in a 153 it sits right under my chin. The sizing chart says that the 153 is for riders 100+ the next step up would be 157 its says its for riders 120+. I was just wondering if i made the right choice because i am more or a free-rider but i wanted to focus on learning my spins this season but i still would like to maintain good stability at high speeds. i should mention that the board has a flex rating of a 7.
So, I'm looking to start snowboarding, the one i'm looking at 149cm for freestyle. I'm 5'3 and 160ish, Would that be a good size? I looked at three different charts and got from 147 to 150 to I got confised.
What would you recommend for a 5'4", 130 pound intermediate rider. He currently has a 130cm board and we are considering trading up becuase he's outgrown the boots and bindgins. He grew 4 inches this last year.
Hey, im 6'1 157lbs, and 13 us boot. i just bought a 2011 lib tech skate banana 159w. i ride mostly park, rails boxes, jumps. should i get a 156w or is that too small? Please respond! thanks
I'm a 5'3 female sittign at 128 lb getting a new board this season. I'm an intermediate rider. I ride mostly pistes and am now getting into park starting last season. I am considering the burton Deja vu Flying V. thoughts? They offer both a 141 length and a 146, but I'm not sure which length to lead to. also, shoe size is a womens 9.
hey im 5 6 about 135 and my boot size is an 11 i just bought the ride crush and the waist is 249 is that too small...... my boots hang over about an inch on each side
Alright here goes, i have a snowboard been boarding for one season i am about 5'6 124lbs im thinking about getting a burton 2011 hate 148cm board my boot size is a mens 10 also i have a firefly beacon 160cm but im not sure i think its way to big for me would the burton hate be a better board for me ? love your videos and tutorials :D
@TheSnowJunky if you are just starting, bigger is better in terms of board size. a bigger board offers more control and stability at speeds. im 6' 2" and 130 lbs and i ride a 153 cm GNU park pickle, which is a very small board for some one of my height but ive been riding for a while so i can control it (im not trying to sound arrogant btw) what type of riding do you do/plan to do? park, freeride (non park) or all mountain (both)?
btw if you ride a size 10 you should probably get a wide board.
@W00DY29 ummm... i kinda plan on going to the park but i also like freeriding idk ive been told to get a 149ish cm board for my height and weight and to get about a 250mm wide for my boot size and the burton hate would be a 148 so im really not sure :S
@TheSnowJunky just going to add on here the hate board is not a 148 its a 152 or is that too long for a park board ??? idk im going to be new to the park but if i do both idk maybe i should get a all mountain board
hey im 6'2 170lbs intermediate rider with 11.5 shoe size i currently have a 162 looking at a couple boards, want a smaller board so i can maneuver better so just wondering what size to get im more of a freestyle rider
@carlsondillon - You could go with a board that is as short as a 155cm or so. Just make sure the waist width is 255mm to 260mm. The Rome Machine might be a good fit.
I'm 5'9 and about 140 I love to snowboard and looking for one to get over the summer. My boot size is 9. I ride mostly mtn. What would be a good board for me
HIya. I'm 6 foot (female) beginner, boot size is a 10. Don't know how much I weight because I have not jumped on a scale in 6 months. Last time I looked I was 95 kilo but I have lost a dress size since then (so I guess I'm between 85 and 90 kilo's now).
I free ride and looking at the M3 Escape 150cm but worried it may be to short. I am learning so that eventually I will be able to go back country boarding. No interest in jumping around.
@aussielung - That would be a bit too short. You want a board around a 156cm with a 250mm waist width. For Back Country Riding you could even get a board that is a bit longer.
Hey im 5'3" looking at 5'5" next season, Im around 100lbs-110lbs and rides 8 size boot. I want to find a board for speed and carving. more of a all mountain board very little park. I was wondering if you can recomend a board that suite thats range. Thanks!

5'11'' 185lb beginner with size 11.5 shoe..just spent the weekend at windham on a 150 cm atomic and got used to it pretty quick but noticed when catching speed that it was very touch feely in the turning department...looking to get my own board and could definitely use some experienced advice
im about 5'5" and weigh about 135lbs and i was thinking about getting the burton scoial which is 147 cm. should i go with that one or go to a better size board?
im 6 foot 210 lbs with a size 12 boot i want to start snowboarding i want to get a board for freestyle that i could also use to just ride. what size and board do you recommend?
hey im looking at the evo rocker and its 161cm with a waist of 255cm...im 6'3" 250 with a 12 boot i was wondering if the 5cm waist differance mattered and if this board is good for me...im more of an all mountain rider but i go to the park a lot too...what do u think?
I'm about 6 feet flat and weigh 235 lbs, i have a 161cm k2 illusion board with mount holes set one inch back and is twin cut what kind of board do i have? freeride? freestyle? I'm just kinda confused here
5'11" and 220lb, beginner snowboarder, with size 11(US) boot. What size board is recommended for the details. Was offered a 158 wide at a good price, but was told 162cm was the correct size. Anmy advice??
im 5'4", 5'5" and weigh 127 pounds. I have size 9, 9.5 feet. Recommmendations for size? im also a beginner but i want to use the board for the next 2 or 3 years
Hi. Im 5'11" and a 160 pounds. I have size 11 feet, but I heard alot of boots have the one size reduction thing so the boots overall size is actually 10, while fits like a 11. So what length and width board should I get? I ride park and freestyle (boxes, rails, jumps) thanks.
I'm about 6'1 260lbs with a size 13 shoe and size 12.5 boot, what's your recommendations? I'm not new to snowboarding but I don't get to go very often in the season and I think i'm just about good enough to start on intermediate slopes since I can just about bomb down green runs and avoid people no problem now.
I'm fairly new to snowboarding, but I can't seem to figure out the sizing for it. I need help. I am 5'8 280lbs with a size 12 shoe. Can someone help me with sizes for a Board, Bindings, & Boots? (Freestyle)
Hey I'm 5'8" and 200lbs size 8 boots. I'm looking into getting myself a park board and was wondering what size board I should get? I'm still trying to settle on either the Sierra Reverse camber or the Stunt. Currently I have a 155 Nitro Blacklight with burton co2 bindings for my all mountain board.
Hey! so this is my second time boarding and i picked it up the first day since i use to skate. But this year i want to get myself a board. So Im 5'6 and weight about 160 and my boot size is 9. Can you please direct me the right snow board for me.... Thanks :)
@ahrat - Check out a 155 Sierra Stunt, great board for the price. But make sure to find a board around a 154 and I recommend a reverse camber/rockered board.
i have a 157cm burton process and its a mid-wide board would a 11 size nike boots fit the board and do they go into burton cartel est. i am a little bit heavier than the board says to way i was wondering if this would affect jibbing and are the boots to wide for the board
Hey, I'm 6" and I weight 167lbs, foot size is about 11-11 1/2, I'm going to snowboard for the first time tomorrow but I've skated semi-professionally for 4 years, I'm guessin I'll enjoy freestyle and park the most, what board should I get?
I'm 180cm,weight is around 170lbs,boot size 11us ,I got burton c60est bindings size L,my friend gave me the 2010 vapor 163cm with a mid waist of 25,4cm will this work for me(duck?)or should I get the wide version.I'm usually freeridin' and do jumps
Nice vid. Snowboarded for the first time last year and fell in love w it, so Im looking to get a full set of gear. Im 5'9", 160 ish lbs. I wear a size 10-10 1/2 shoe and my riding preference is park/freestyle. My buddy is a DC rep and is setting me up with some of last years gear, I think he has a PBJ for me. Can someone tell me what size board/boots would be best for me? Also, is there a great difference in bindings? Thanks in advance for any help...
Hey there, so my sister bought me a board for christmas, it's an all mountain board. Well the size is a 150cm. I'm 5'5 and 120Ib. does that board sound about right to you for my size?
Hey, I'm 5'5-5'6 F, around 140 lbs. I want to buy the Sierra V-Spot, thinking of getting 147 or 151, intermediate rider.. which of the two would you suggest?
hey, i want to start snowboarding, but dont know the size i need cause im short and stocky. Im 5'6 and about 210 to 215. size 9 1/2 foot. What size of board should i get?
@sierrasnowboard I'm like 5'8" to 5'9" and around 160lbs. I just bought a 2009 Custom X 158 cm. Size charts suggested it to be the right size. Were they correct?
hey, i want to start snowboarding, but dont know the size i need cause im short and stocky. Im 5'6 and about 210 to 215. size 9 1/2 foot. What size of board should i get?
hey, i want to start snowboarding, but dont know the size i need cause im short and stocky. Im 5'6 and about 210 to 215. size 9 1/2 foot. What size of board should i get?
Hey Im about almost 6 foot. And I am 144lbs I want to find that right size for rails jumps boxes. And what width and also I have a size 12-12/half foot to. Please help.
@sierrasnowboard if im 149cm. my wieght is around 40-45kg. 39eu in boots. and i like to ride the park and do some smooth tricks. is allian knock out in 136cm nice for me?
I'm a 13 year old boy and i'm 200lbs and 5 ft 11. foot size is 14. Im am a beginner but i want to do jumps. What size board and width do you recomend?
Hi there. I’m just starting out as a snowboarder and I was wondering what size board would you recommend for me? Would you also recommend me starting off as a Freerider?
Im an intermediate rider, pretty good at speed riding and pow and cruising, but looking to get more into park. more jumps and possibly pipe then jib stuff, but ill still throw some rails and boxes in. I am 6'1 190 size 10.5-11, and i want a joystick. it comes in 157 and 161 and 159 wide. I dont really want a ride so i can get more response out of the board, but what do you think is the best choice?
so am i screwed? im 5'6 and my board goes up to my nose. im aslo 200lbs. i perfer shorter boards because i skate smaller decks. i havent been snowboarding in about 2 yrs sooo can some1 please help me and say if im screwed or not XD.
@Legitplayer72 - You will be fine. Check out boards that are from 154-156. By going with a board that is a mid flex it will help compensate for your weight and give you the feel of a soft board.
Hi. Ive been snowboarding for about 2 years and I am thinking of buying a board. I have improved from beginner but I don't think I am an intermediate. I am 6ft 1 and I weigh around 140 pounds. My shoes size is between 11 and 12 UK Size. I am thinking of buying a freeride or all mountain board, what would be a suitable size of board for me? Thanks.
@sierrasnowboard hey ive been snowboarding a few times. im 6 ft 3 and i weigh 145 pounds and my shoe is a size 12. i know im skinny. but ill probably want to do mostly park stuff and maybe a little bit of freeriding. what board do you think i should go with?
HI i am 5 ft 8 in 130 lbs i got a board last year when i was 5 ft 2 in 95 lbs, i got a board that it hough would last me a while at 147 cm, now i think i need a new board because i am more experienced and want a reversed camber board what would be a smart board and size to look into that i can use for years to come? thanks
@adje00rs - The board is a touch too long for your weight and you could go with the midwide if you size down. The EST Bindings will help the flex pattern of the board to be more consistant, but it will not make too much of a difference. The Hero is not the softest board out there, but it is by no means stiff.
The shorter board should make a bit of a difference.
I have 09 Rulers size 11. just bought large cartels (non-est) to go with them and a mid-wide (252 mm) board. got it all together and the edge doesn't look too bad.. I ride duck so some mm's saved there..
@sierrasnowboard hey im "KINDA" new to snowboarding, i love both park and speed. im 6'1, 160 lbs. and have an 11'5 shoe size, almost just as seen in the video. what size board would you recommend for both park and speed???
hey wats up i hav a size 11 foot but im getting the 2011 burton motos so they will be 10 and i want a boad that is 252 ww wud i be fine if i have a 15 and -15 stance let me now
@BurtonNorthstar - Just make sure that your toes pull away from the end of your boot when they are all laced up and you flex your ankle forward. I would hate to see you in boots that are too small.
That will work okay, 252mm waist with a size 10 or 10.5.
Usually I recommend just a half size smaller than your street shoe size.
Hi, I would be glad if you could help me. My weight is around 160 lbs and Im 183cm tall, that should be 6'0. Im choosing currently as a beginner a Ride Agenda 2010. Which lenght would be better, 156cm or 159cm ? btw good choice ? Thx!
I'm 5'4", 135 lbs, & I just picked up a 148cm to ride park.
when I didn't know anything about sizes, I was riding all mountain with a 155 cm lol and surprisingly I was still hitting rails, boxes, and jumps but was kinda difficult.

ipwngearsofwar 1 year ago
@ipwngearsofwar - It will work, but you will like a board a bit wider for freestyle riding.

Hi. Im 5'11" and a 160 pounds. I have size 11 feet, but I heard alot of boots have the one size reduction thing so the boots overall size is actually 10, while fits like a 11. So what length and width board should I get? I ride park and freestyle (boxes, rails, jumps) thanks.
YeheonShin 1 year ago
@YeheonShin - Definitely look for a boot with a reduced foot print. Either way you will want a board around 250-255mm at the waist.

I'm not new to snowboarding but I don't get to go very often in the season and I think i'm just about good enough to start on intermediate slopes since I can just about bomb down green runs and avoid people no problem now.

Rhyme0rReason 1 year ago
@Rhyme0rReason - Go with the 155 Reverse Crew. The RC will be a bit stiffer than the stunt which will be better for your weight.

Thanks in advance for any help...
meast2007 1 year ago
@meast2007 - Try on a few pair to get your best fit for boots, they are usually true to size.
For a board you can go from a 154-158. Make sure it is around 250mm in the waist.

I dont really want a ride so i can get more response out of the board, but what do you think is the best choice?
purpleian907 1 year ago
@purpleian907 *wide, not ride
purpleian907 1 year ago
@purpleian907 - I would recommend going to a wide for a bit more float in the pow and less chance of getting Toe and Heel drag.

so am i screwed? im 5'6 and my board goes up to my nose. im aslo 200lbs. i perfer shorter boards because i skate smaller decks. i havent been snowboarding in about 2 yrs sooo can some1 please help me and say if im screwed or not XD.
Legitplayer72 1 year ago
@Legitplayer72 - You will be fine. Check out boards that are from 154-156. By going with a board that is a mid flex it will help compensate for your weight and give you the feel of a soft board.
sierrasnowboard 1 year ago

Thanks.
sgrieve12345 1 year ago
@sgrieve12345 - You would be a novice rider and also want to get a wide board that is from 155-158. The longer size is better for freeriding.

Hi, I got a burton hero 2010 in size 162.
I do butters, boxes and small kickers, but also like riding pow alot.
It seems that the flex is quite hard for butters, is this because im not using EST bindings or is the board too long for me?
My weight is 174, length 6' 1.2'' and foot size 11 1/2.
Would a 158/158wide or est bindings with the 162 be better for easier butters?
Thanks
adje00rs 1 year ago
@adje00rs - The board is a touch too long for your weight and you could go with the midwide if you size down. The EST Bindings will help the flex pattern of the board to be more consistant, but it will not make too much of a difference. The Hero is not the softest board out there, but it is by no means stiff.
The shorter board should make a bit of a difference.
sierrasnowboard 1 year ago
I have 09 Rulers size 11. just bought large cartels (non-est) to go with them and a mid-wide (252 mm) board. got it all together and the edge doesn't look too bad.. I ride duck so some mm's saved there..
Is it gonna work?
jackdid3 1 year ago
@jackdid3 - It will work, just quick edge to edge. In the future look for a board with a touch wider waist.

BurtonNorthstar 1 year ago
@BurtonNorthstar - Just make sure that your toes pull away from the end of your boot when they are all laced up and you flex your ankle forward. I would hate to see you in boots that are too small.
That will work okay, 252mm waist with a size 10 or 10.5.
Usually I recommend just a half size smaller than your street shoe size.
sierrasnowboard 1 year ago
If i have a size 10 boot, will a 249mm waist width work alrite?
