@Gabert1k because europeans grew out of chrome wheels in the 80's. we also dont want supersize drinks holders, or a place to put your bargain bucket of chicken from the drive through. you should be asking why do US spec cars have lower fuel economy figures than euro spec.

the touareg is really rather unappreciated.. it really is a fantastic thing.. though being probably the biggest vw fan i have to admit if i were to buy a big offroader and i needed 7 seats i 'd really think about the discovery.....otherwise.. the touareg every time...the quality it offers is no less than any other german manufacturer.. only reason why it would be cheaper is the badge...and just a stupid little badge on the bonnet shouldn't be the basis on which you buy your cars.....

@quwers Alot of farmers and people who own horses use a Touareg to tow. Also if you own a boat or a small business a car that can tow up to 3500KG can be usefull. If there wasn't a market for it, VW wouldn't produce it.

As for the yummy mommies, you can say that about any SUV including the Range Rover...

Sorry but from what iv read and heard the X5 cant do off road , so your best bet is the VW or landrover , plus before they made the v6 and v8 models there was a v10 :S
