I really don't think Damon wrote EVERYTHING that you hear right now. The bass lines are very similar to the Clash's tunes and I doubt Damon did all the work. Paul Simonon IS basically the "bassline of England". ;)

no ones forgetting paul. this is a band of great and very established artists, yes, including DAMON ALBARN and PAUL SIMONON. blur and the clash are my favorite bands of all time, its fantastic that they're playing together. BUT you have to realize damon's the one behind all this. and responsible for gorillaz and blur as well, some of the greatest bands ever. both are incredibly talented and fantastic. long live clash, long live damon.
