  • REPEAT

  • music is math ... lovely ...

  • this song is the most BEUTIFUL THING I'VE EVER HEARD <3 im raping the repeat button

  • wish I could play this.. :O

  • caso com uma serenata dessa música

  • @smalin

Are you there person that is playing this? If so, your very talented. I've played the Bb Clarinet for about a year now, and i hope i'm atleast 1/16 of how great you are!(:

  • @AnaBuhnana276 The answer to your question is not simple; see the "Q: How did you make this video?" item in the FAQ.

  • @smalin

This is awesome. And i'm in middle school, so i'd like to be able to play elegant, classy pieces like this. All we do in middle school is Fast, loud songs...

My dream is to go to college on a band scholarship, and become a world-wide musician.

  • @AnaBuhnana276 I wish you luck on your dream. I am currently applying for a college band scholarship (for Bb Clarinet though). It is not easy, but it is fun and worth it.

  • @AnaBuhnana276 I play Bb Clarinet as well. I have for many years now ^_^ It was the first instrument that I picked up, and, despite that I play other instruments now, I always go back to Clarinet. I just love it.

  • It's a beautiful melody. I think that everyone knows it.

  • This was in the notebook! at least i think

  • I've been listening to this over and over all night. My dad has been playing piano since, well before I was even born. I recognized it immediately. I just turned 38 today and hearing this just captured my childhood as I used to listen to him play. So beautiful. Thank you.

  • Beautiful

  • Could you upload this song with the *circle and line (?)* animation. It is much more interesting to watch... easier to see the different timing on the shrinking dots. Still, very nice. Thank you.

  • @kur1tan My guess it that it is called "version 2". Version 3 is also nice with the hollow circles you are able to show overlapping notes with different timing. Either way, I find it easier and more mesmerizing to follow in that style.

  • Simply magnificent.

  • So peaceful.

  • you still comment on this after 6 YEARS?! (@smalin)

  • @freshenerable Why not? People are still watching.

  • @smalin I respect that.

  • Ugh, I would study music just to learn to play this piece.

  • @JokerVidProductions Does that mean you will?

  • @smalin That is why I study music. Well, that, and because I just adore the study.

  • @JokerVidProductions AGREED!!!!!

  • @JokerVidProductions exactly what im gonna start to do! xD

  • wow....i need to take acid before watching this again!!!!

  • @cjharr2000 Let us know how that goes.

  • it brings me into a world of dreams :)

  • I'm laying down on the puffy dark grey clouds... the sky is navy blue scattered with bright white stars that twinkle... The air is cool, just the perfect amount. I'm isolated far away from humanity but completely free.

  • Most beautiful music I have ever heard.

  • wow this video is old...

  • This is what love must be like

  • The son of the piano is too artificial.

  • I don't cry, and can't really describe that great feeling while playing, altought I don't have the correct dynamics yet..

  • I never understood why it makes me cry but then again you don't always have to have a reason behind it.This is one of the greatest if not the greatest songs ever!

  • brought tears to my eyes

  • Probably the most beautiful song in the world.

  • I'm going to learn this on the piano. I absolutely love this song. It makes me cry when i hear it...<3

  • stunning piece of work...well played

  • Debussy..Chopin...the memory of my childhood....

  • is it just me or was debussy one of the most regular looking pianist back then >>

  • PERFECT!!!!

  • This is my favorite song!!!! <3

  • @smalin you're very good. enjoyed your interpretation. sorry my awful english, i'm italian.

  • What an incredible piece, I'd love to learn it for myself

  • effortless timing. thank you for this

  • I don't understand how it got 17 million views, it is not well played..

  • @IMAHMS a) it was uploaded really early on in youtube history, and b) you play it better then mr perfect! Gees some people!

  • Comment removed

  • @Chizzy941 I don't play it better, but I have heard it being played better than this, this is not perfect.

  • @IMAHMS Well aren't you a prick? Upload a better one before you criticize someone else's work.

  • Comment removed

  • @IMAHMS lololol dude you're funny. this interpretation is so powerful. seriously, you don't know shit about music. get the fuck out of here.

  • @xAnonymousss sweety I know more about classical music than you will ever be able to, I am a pianist

  • @IMAHMS but of course, sweety. i'm a pianist too. just saying. and believe me, i've heard lots of interpretations of clair de lune and this is a good one. but an interpretation is a matter of personal opinion afterall, so don't try to get all smart here. i like it, you don't, so what. i play this piece with a typical Chopin spirit. again, i like, but some people would say it's too rough or anything...who cares anyway?

  • @IMAHMS you obviously never studied musical theory, this is flawless so i think maybe you should study up a little bit before talking about something you obviously know nothing about. this piece is not an easy one either.

  • Comment removed

  • @mariajazzym I don't need to study to know that this is not as well played as the mp3 that I have of it.. I have a musical ear that I trust, and the way it is played here did not do this piece its justice, I love this piece so much and wish that those 17 million people have listened to how it is played perfectly.. by the way I play it almost as good as it is played in this video, which is still not perfect and not good enough

  • @IMAHMS I have heard the original version. This is a poor example, yes, but I still love listening to it. It is a beautiful piece, and one that I have listened to since I was a child. It is a favorite of mine. Whereas I love listening to it, I do agree with you when you say this is a poor example of the music.

  • @mariajazzym and it is not that much difficult to play by the way :) not at all, I played it in a small concert when I was 17 years old.. but to play it perfectly is the issue

  • Curious, u played the 'Un poco mosso' bit quite slow (imo)

Stylistic choice? or do u think it sounds better that way?

    Great vid btw :)

  • i cry at 3:20

  • insta-faved as soon as I could clear up my drool.

  • Elpres ;)

  • VERY BEAUTIFUL );

  • ...uh, and thank you sir Claud Debussy jedi master, sir

  • wunderschön zum träumen

  • Oh I wish I could tinkle on the ivories, looking at the video makes me realise how damn hard it is...wish I could even read a music sheet...its all greek to me

  • i think its the simplicity of it that makes it so beautifull

  • Wow I forgot how beautiful debusy's music is :(

  • love to just sit and listen to this :)

  • Beautiful and exciting music!

  • Perfect music.

  • brilllllllliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnttttttttttttttttt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =)))))))))))))))))

  • This is an amazing song. I first heard of it in the movie man of fire. :)

  • i love it so much (: <3

  • thank you ever so much for uploading it.

  • It kinda makes you feel a little bit nostalgic and remember old things

you were doing in your past and not now anymore...Unfortunately...=/

  • This beautiful piece was well-represented by your lovely video. Your polite and helpful attitude, interesting and useful FAQ, intriguing video, and high quality have more than earned the thumbs up, favorite, and subscription you received.

  • You must surrender to the music, and after many years the truth it tells will be revealed.

  • one of best

  • wow

  • we used this peice of music to do a classical ballet to:) i loved it... it was only a short one for in the studio but it was beautiful...

  • This is really quite brilliant. It is actually quite helpful when learning how to listen to most of the great classical music out there. The colours help you see not only the pitches, but the progressions. This really shows how Debussy delays the tonic, which is why the music is so exciting. Every time you see that blue bar in the bass, you feel like your home, and it's so comforting. I love this!

  • heyy cool ;)))

  • debussy would lock himself in his attic and smoke dope all day. alot of the foul left-wing themes come out in his music.. i know this is a good piano song but keep in mind it came from a guy who dedicated his life to going against the establisment

  • One of my most favorite songs and use to have the book! The most relaxing song ever. Such a love a song. It's son nice of you to offer the sheet music free! Thanks for posting the melody!

  • i love this song so much. It makes me relax and I somehow get this warm feeling in my chest.......it feels good..........:)

  • Okay, does anyone else hear Spiderman, briefly, at 2:00? Everytime I listen to it, I hear that, and it always strikes me as strange.

  • @HipCovers Yup, I listened for it and the violin intro from the Spiderman soundtrack is definitely the same line :) Good call!

  • love your FAQ section! and makes me cry too..

  • Oh my god this is so hard to play!

  • somehow this song brought me...peace... hmmmmmm

  • This always Helps me sleep !

  • this is... incredible.

  • I love this piece!

  • Very beautiful! I like how u kinda made it techie.. :D although i dont like how the music sounds kinda like electric piano. :S

  • i love it

  • I think this is what a rainy evening in Paris sounds and feels like.

  • Favorite Piano Piece Ever! So Beautiful!

  • Beatiful...Relaxing.....I Think I'm Falling Sleep....

  • Best Classical ever

  • reminds me of zelda

  • @quiblyful Yeah I know, the part at 2:35 sounds like the music in the fountains on that game. You're not the first person to think of that, I thought of it a long time ago, and I searched through the comments on the other Clair de Lune video on here, there was like 1 per page saying that. Definitely a similarity.

  • So beautiful.. Perfect .

  • Too much beautiful.

  • masterpiece!

  • i came to know about it by watching the movie frankie and johnny

  • the piano's best keys are Db or Gb, with the most black keys used.

  • best audio i could find thank you its beautiful

  • O amor que transcende...

  • I love the conclusion: it's like " will I say it ?... will I say it ? ... I will say... silence"

  • Does anyone know if this song was in the Mask? It reminds me of that movie for some reason...

  • i love this!! very very nice to study to!

  • If I was going to introduce someone to music who has never heard it before, I would have them listen to this.

  • As I am watching this, with grey dim light entering my room while rain falls slow on my window, I am crying. Believe in love and life. Thank You Music.

  • My favorite piece. The very reason I wanted to learn music. I credit this for all of my success.

  • romanticism will always kick impressionism's ass

  • @DynamoTk Do you think that Debussy is a romantic or an impressionist ?

  • @hamsterdj78 impressionist.

  • @hamsterdj78 impressionist obviously

  • annoying pop/rap music being played on my stereo in the background. This music is so distinct, it makes the modern stuff sound the same and like an annoyance, spoiling this piece. This is so beautiful.

  • When hearing this, I always think of my dead parents. And of my sister. Somehow I feel so small. And so big, at the same time. Lonely...

    I don't know.

  • Most beautiful piece of music of created.

  • I feel like I just stole $163 million and got away with it...

  • About 120 years old but so nice! As if I'd walk on a rainbow...

  • Debussy, Clair de lune é lindoo !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this song

    it is sick.

I mean... what was going on in this guy's head? what could he be possibly feeling or thinking to bring such THING, MASTERPICE, from the higher levels of conscience?

it eludes me, I find this to be super-human. something written by a blessed mind or a blessed state of mind (don't be stupid, I ain't talking about religion.) I starve for more songs like this very one. if you think you know musical pieces that can reach this, please, pm me.

  • This piece makes me peaseful and I can breathe nomal again

  • No tengo palabras para describir esta hermosura de composicion :')
