Great to hear your explanation for some of the improvisation. Solo guitar is not easy, it is one thing to play the tune with the chords, but then to be able to add the bass and imporvise in any meaningful way takes real talent and hard work.
Although you learned to play the melody with the chords at first I think it helped you to become even better at what your doing. Now you can intermix both very nicely. Awesome Playing. Man I Love the guitar!

i saw this guy playing .. and after the gig he was in the car park sucking a fan off!! my mate has it on video!! this martin like cock and so what thats no problem with me!!! wat a talent!!
hi - this archtop guitar seems to be quite similar to Martin Taylor's previous choice of Yamaha AEX1500 model, but in this case with a pick-up configuration closer to a Gibson ES175, including more Gibson-like fretboard inlay markers (the AEX1500 model features dot-inlays instead + a single floating pick-up). Hope that's useful........... DH (Scotland)

"They Can't Take That Away From Me" is the tune's name by George Gershwin. Page 427 in Real Book 1 in Eb (same key Martin is playing it in)

I have known Martin for years.
He is a genius of Jazz guitar, without doubt and a lovely guy.
Listening to his music, it strikes me that one of his great strengths is how quietly he plays.
He doesn't ever rush anything either.
Those two things are basics I think in becoming a master.
The rest of it is technique and fantastic talent.
Good luck Martin.
Baz the poet.

Fantastic stuff - holds true for more than just the guitar too.

Two things: I love that comment at 5:19 "or at least know a man that does." HA!
Also, his right hand technique is staggering. Wow. Segovia couldn't even complain.
