  • ridiculous, that looks like a circus, one of the worst groups ever, a 'one hit' wonder case of the worst sort

  • @lemonnis the type of music you listen to is one-dimensional .....to call kajagoogoo the worst group is the funniest comment i've ever heard.

  • Good band , apart from the vocals, this was NOT live though.

The music was on tape here. Ooh......ahhh.

  • LOVE THE BASS.... And who ever said that Kajagoogoo sucked should have been slapped in the face. They have LIMAHL!!!!!!!!!!

  • im in america and never heard of the tube til about 94. some of my absolute favorite bands evern were on the show that ive never seen play anywhere else. and i always thought the set was really cool. but this is by far the clearest tube video i have ever seen. where did it come from?

  • Love all of kajagoogoo's material...the early 80's were simpler times weren't they? so glad to find these video clips! I don't know how i'd survive living in tornado alley, texas without their music!

  • does anyone know the werid musicman stingray esqe bass mr nick beggs is playing? it has a musicman pick up it looks like the the head stock is not anyting a MM makes...custom perhaps? I know the bass he playes for most kaja songs is a (2 BAND) stringray....i have to say that the 2 band sounds alot (funkier) than the 3...MM have called the 2b (classic series..) 1800$ in USA:(

    Damian

  • @sprintbass - he is playing a Wal bass, made in the UK, with special pickups and active preamp eq, so it can get really bright and snappy funky sounds.

  • @progjazzfusion hey!

thanks for that...i did contact wal but have heard nothing as of yet...

  • For me, Nick beggs is the greatest bass player in the world! His bass lines are a killer!

  • Great fun to had back in the day!! Great bands and great songs too!! Love Kaja!!

  • AMAZING !!

  • this was awesome

  • Great song!

  • This was the intro song for Sixteen Candles. Reminds me of southern california of the 80s... listening to Richard Blade and all the euro invasion music.

  • Yeahh Im down the pict ....¡¡¡ and exactly remind the texture american.. i m not american but ..this song remember good times¡¡¡¡cuando la mire jeej wee¡¡

  • i never thought music could get this cheesy, but apparently it did...and its great!!! Nick Beggs is sick...love the dancing at 0:38:)

  • Missing this music today - I need my time machine!!!

  • Ah, I wanna go, take me for a ride!

  • Hey got room for one more?? I too want to leave this barren musical wasteland as well!!

  • I didn't realize just how good of a bass player Nick Beggs was until I saw the beginning of this.

  • I had a dance with Nick Beggs the other week to the sound of Durans Rio.. great bloke

  • This band's style is impressive. Such great performers! Thank you.

  • great music. They sure dont make em like they used to. You rock nick beggs.

  • It don't come much more '80's than that!

  • j'adooore

  • K A J A , G double O , K A J A G O O.

  • Nick Beggs is a really good bass player.

  • i wa sat this concert and i heard it in theatres in sixteen candles

  • I LOVE the way Nick Beggs is always so 'panto'when he's on stage - who knew eyebrows and hair clackers could be so expressive!!! Love it!

  • Saw these guys live in 1982 and they opened with this track - cheesey 80s pop but pretty good though!

  • Great song

  • I love New Wave bands like Kajagoogoo! I would love to go to their concert to enjoy great music and possibly meet my future wife.

  • limahl is hot

  • gitara basowa !!!

  • ive held that guitar steve is playing there :O :P

  • *_* really? how is it possible?

  • Nick Beggs est très charismatique ,il dégage une énergie incroyable sur scène .C'est l'image emblêmatique de cette musique du début des années 80 !

  • Gosh, I had never heard these guys before other than "Too Shy". They are AMAZING! That bassist--Nick Beck, I believe is his name--is just a genius.

  • ohhhh so this is who performs this song at the beginning of sixteen candles! I always wondered that

  • Nick Beggs, You are just so sexy X I'm there, with you in the music!

  • Nick Beggs is totally sexy!!

  • Whats the name of this track ? Excellent bass

  • KAJAGOOGOO is the name of the track

  • This song was the opening theme for the movie Sixteen Candles.

  • Any Kajagoogoo female fans that are single on here?

  • lmao

  • BAYCITYROLLERBOY, I am!

    Hehehe

  • of course :)

  • Steve Askew is playing a Yamaha SG.

  • Hey what about the effects which is really what the guitar sound is all about - this sounds exactly the the 80s guitar of Wang Chung - the bass-playing is just above average but what really disspointed me is the ending as if still playing to a karoake trak - oh well karoake is 99% of the music industry nowadays still a fun cut to listen to. I'm looking for the studio version too.

  • I recognize this song!!! It played on "Sixteen Candles" during the opening credits.

  • Can anyone please tell me what guitar Steve Askew is playing?

  • absolutely amazing

  • They were a really cool group. Great pop songs. They were together to briefly though. That was an incredible time in history. I remember it well and looking back it was the best time of my life.

  • Best thing on Youtube.Totally brilliant!

  • Everytime I listen to Kajagoogoo I want to dance! Love their music! If you like 80's synth-pop like me, you don't care if it seems hokey and outdated by todays standards. Current trends in fashion and music that I laugh about now, everyone will be laughing at 25yrs. from now when they look back, just like people do about Kajagoogoo now. Mark my words.

  • @palebeachbum Today's hottest trends are based on popular fashion from the 1980's

These styles are shown in today's fashion,

as mullets, tight pants, glasses, old school shoes... etc

  • Did you know that the whole 1980's can be expressed with just the lead singers hair style!

  • that guy can play the bass really welll

  • Nick Beggs is awsome. Crap dancing mind

  • he's great on the bass, but don't really like his voice, the band is not the same without limahl, that's why they never ended up anywhere, limahl still sounds great TODAY...

  • But the vocals ARE live.

  • Cool footage too bad that it's mimed. (you can hear the guitar going when the guitarist isn't even strumming and the keyboard player isn't playing that extra line)

  • it make me wanna dance damm nice bass

  • this is kind of hokey

  • NICK BEGGS IS GOD!

  • The bass player Nick Beggs, is a natural musician. He shows great stage prescence and loves what he does. Wot a player. Go Nick you're the best. Gally

  • i used to fance nick back in the days then again i was about 12 at the time

  • He was the Flea of the eighties.

  • Limahl is cute in this video<3

  • Check out the Kajagoogoo website it has the 'Rocket Boy' single

  • I'm "TOO SHY" to admitt I like Kajajagoogoo

  • Yes it was - but it depends on which version 16 Candles. I've seen two different versions (both US), and they use different songs in different scenes. For this song, one version uses this exact song, in anohter it's a modified one with lots of horns/brass.

  • 80´s music is my life, awesome, I LOVE IT

  • I was into Led Zep, Van Halen and Sabbath at the time and we always thought this was a typical girly manufactured group, but I was soooo wrong. Compared to todays utter shit, I'd listen to this all day long.

  • ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!

  • Still makes me want to get up and dance! Real music.

  • the 80's are the best

  • OF COURSE THEY ARE!

  • OF COURSE!!! 80's FOREVER!

  • YUP!!!

  • Title of that song is KAJAGOOGOO - not prepare myself for a fall.those lyrics are from another song :S from INTERVIEW ROOM :P so simple... KAJAGOOGOO - Kajagoogoo...... from album White Feathers in 1983 y :)

  • loves it

  • awesome!

  • Look the band is miming to the actual album track. Limahl overdubs the lyrics (probably improvised as there are no proper lyrics in the album version and it stops him looking like a nob on stage). Nick's not really playing the bass, Stuart's not playing keyboards, Steve's not playing guitar and the bloke with the long neck's not playing the drums. Sorry to burst your bubbles dudes....... Music was a sham even in the 80's - everyone mimed on Top of the Pops. New Order on the other hand....
