  • I wish Andy Stanley would be as direct as John MacArthur on false teachers like Joel Osteen and Rob Bell. For those who indicated positive view of Osteen, would invite you to consider MacArthur's reasoning and Scriptural support of his view. Can't seem to post link here, but search YouTube for clip entitled "John MacArthur Rebukes Joel Osteen"

  • @FAITHandLOGIC I think you hear more of what you want to hear than you think.

  • Andy Stanley is nothing more than the son who went into the family business and modernized it. Great businessman, bad theology.

    Church? No. Business? Yes.

  • Andy doesn't say anything about the rough times being a product of sin and God punishing us. He doesn't tell us anything about God making things easy for us when we follow him. He doesn't tell us that God wants us to live a healthy and wealthy life. From what I've heard, Andy is a preacher of God's Word. I don't see him making any conclusions on his own. I see him trying to tell other people, who are just like him, what he has come to know through his study of God's Word.

  • @rketcherside24 That's because you hear what you want to. He never gives God the credit. It's always "We" or "North Point" or something to that effect.

This is all about his church, not about God's church. There is a big difference. Ever hear Andy preach about the second coming of the Messiah? Well, that's the climax of being a Christian. Christ returns and brings His reward with Him. Andy is just a "PC Preacher" for a corporation, not a church.

  • @FAITHandLOGIC Andy is far from the only preacher that tends to stay away from covering the book of Revelation in-depth. Too many churches don't want to tackle it and it is a shame for those that don't. You are right about it being the climax. It is worthy of focus and study. Andy has spoken about Christ's return, but not in a lot of depth.

  • My problem with Osteen is that he never preaches against sin or anyhting at all offensive. However, not every single sermon has to be one. Andy Stanley brings that sometimes, including recently at passion conference when he talked about appetite and how it destroys you. It was a great message

  • @eingram21 he talked about appetite at big stuf too. it was pretty awesome

  • I love both Joel Osteen and Andy Stanley, They Are both awsome in diffrent ways, I love Ian Mccormak also, specially his story

  • @Leile223 Andy and Joel are cut from the same cloth. It's called a bank note. Cha-ching!

  • @FAITHandLOGIC Read recent posts by Leile223 & rketcherside24 and wanted to comment. I followed Andy since the beginning of North Point and just recently joined a different church. I have 1 or 2 things I am critical of Andy, but I don't think you know his heart or his theological views well enough to substantiate your comments. Osteen is a false teacher. Andy isn't. Preferring to err on side of grace, Andy isn't willing to point out false teachers like Osteen or Bell and I think he should.

  • @wakeup6935 you cannot be a former christian, those who once had faith cannot loose it!

you need to read your name and take that into consideration and WAKE UP!

JESUS CHRIST IS THE MESSIAH! HE IS RISEN! AND HE IS LIFE!

    prayin for you!

  • @jacksballin13

Do you understand apostasy? You cannot [fall away] from something you never possessed. Walking in the Spirit gives assurance of salvation as His Spirit witnesses with our spirit that we are children of God. It is an individual matter that exists between a believer and the LORD. It is the Holy Spirits function to confirm that you are a child of God not a man and his doctrine.

  • Really u studied the history of chritians? i was once that but just to think of all that science stuff saying it was a chance that the big bang happened. it was a chance that our planet was created with that exact distance from the sun not to far not to close. it was a chance that one delicate cell was to survive and multiply under harsh condition. Chances? like sying im going to throw sticks in the air and fall on the ground to form a bird house. I believe there is a master planer who is God

  • As a former Christian believing in a god was very comforting. However I studied and researched the history of Christianity and found out it is all man made along with the divinity of Jesus. Trust me, it is much more powerful living a life in reality rather than a delusion. Has it ever dawned on you that maybe the African American preacher owes his success to his drive and shaping of character to himself rather than some non-existent, never seen, non-provable entity?

  • @wakeup6935 You say you were a former christian, well what made you a christian to begin with? In other words when did you get saved or should I say how did you get saved? I hope it wasn't listening to this guy. You say God is a non-provable entity, well you also can not prove he does not exist. As for Jesus theres more evidence that he excisted outside the Bible (In Jewish and Roman history which they hated him) than there is that u exist through medical and police records. Thats a fact.

  • Bla, bla and bla. Talking about something that may exist or not, takes time. We have no time. The world is a timebomb. Too mutch suffering. We have to save eachother from a god who has no love in him. Suffering is what he wants. Satan or god makes no diffrence. STOP RELIGION AND HER SINS!

  • @MrVandervlis Suffering is often a part of God's plan. Jesus prayed and petitioned for God to take away the suffering of the cross...yet God denied that request of his only begotten. An individuals comfort is the last thing on God's mind and it's clear that He's got far more important things to deal with. Everybody is religious. The one who beliveves he or she is not religious unknowingly worship themselves.

  • @MrVandervlis Romans 5:8 (New International Version)

8But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

  • @MrVandervlis freak

  • @MrVandervlis There was a reason you were watching this sermon. No one forced you to do so; therefore maybe God is dealing with you. Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come sort of the glory of God: Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead thou shalt be saved.(KJV) praying for you

  • Andy is one of the most recents american church leaders who preaches to this world and has develop a great ministry..i visit his chur ch and it is awsome..praise the Lord for people like that

    Miguel Uchoa Brazil

  • Simply amazing.

  • Andy Stanley is the furthest thing from Joel Osteen...he preaches the Gospel and Osteen preaches the prosperity Gospel. Their messages are distinctly different...Osteen focuses on self Stanley focuses on God as the core of oneself...big difference...

as far as sounding the same...nah not that close

  • @Thanatos1919 I would agree he does sound like Joel Oteen and he is not preaching the Gospel, you don't hear him preaching against SIN, or worldliness, or judgment to come for the lost sinner, or turning from all your SIN! Its a self help feel good flesh pleasing message, like Joel Osteen. He's also a new evanglic that thinks we should never judge like Joel Osteen. And people wonder how theres so many false converts.

  • This message was wonderful. I was hanging on every word. Andy brought the truth and delivered a powerful message. It's worth watching the whole message in the LifeChurch archives.

  • why does andy stanley sound like joel osteen

  • Awesome
