Motorists do not pay directly for the roads. Roads are paid for via general and local taxation. In 1926, Winston Churchill started the process to abolish road tax. It was finally culled in 1937
What you described as a flat footed or bad non agility pedal stroke is in fact the most powerful way to pedal sitting down and you will see all professional cyclists using it. This pedal stroke enables you to spin the crank much more efficiently than "spring boarding" off the pedal which will wear you out during a race. It is important to train the lower legs and the hip flexers because they will improve your ability, but you still need to be pedaling like a cyclist.
i spend more time pedaling whilst standing rather than seated now. THats the main problem with cycling at the moment is the seating is still very uncomfortable and has friction issues for you skin on ur thighs. ths is one issue they really need to come up with a cure. its a problem. my reccomendation is never remain seated for long periods when cyling and always altenrate between standing and seating. i never remian seated for long periods
@210482fmj actually the main problem with cycling is the failure of the bicycle helmet industry to design a helmet that doesn't make you look like a jackass. It's so bad that when certain countries began legislating and enforcing adults to wear helmets, ridership declined... check out cyclehelmets . org
@MegaDyneSystemsExe i dont agreee with forcing adults to wear helmets, but a helmet saved my life when i was in a crash. even with the helmet, i was life-flighted to the hospital and kept there for 3 days in and out of consciousness. if it wasn't for that helmet, i wouldnt be here writing this comment. i dont care if i look like a jackass. i REALLY look like a jackass with brain damage

@zazenzach I'm pretty sure thats not correct. A weighted vest might hurt the knees because its like being more overweight but an ankle weight is below the knee so its not creating excessive force on the knee joints. I've had several kneee surguries and weights on the ankles arent too bad.
its basic physics actually. that weight on your ankle is gonna require your knee to exert more effort to stop it. and if your running real fast then you might accidently jerk your calfs too far and hurt your knee
google ankle weight dangers and/or medical science journal ankle weights
i'd like to see bikes have more comfotable seating for the body. Frankly at the moment the problem with cyling is its very uncomfortable. they could be made better. I'd like to see a pedal system that support the entire foot also which would be very comfortable. At the moment we must work on making bikes more comfortable
Great stuff! But....always a but....I guess how that bike and equipment gets paid for. I'm figured someone at your advanced stage of cycling already know most of this. I do think this is great advice though.
@maromera While I am not the guy in the video, I do know a little about cycling. Your legs will first become toned, and then increase in volume after a while. I wouldn't worry about this even if you are a woman. I know women cyclists and they are not built like this guy is. If anything, cycling will give you more in-shape, lean and muscular legs, not big bulky ones. All in all, cycling is a great sport and I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to improve their body or athletic ability.
@zazenzach I can see that with running, but with biking it's bad for your knees as well?

I dont mean anything by this but you have huge muscular thighs. I just got into cycling are my thighs going to bulk up ?
I would like to avoid that if there is a way?
If you have any feedback it would be much appreciated thanks :)

It's true. You can see profs really peddle much smoother then most people on their roadbicycles.
