  • I love it!

  • subí todo el volumen y aun se escucha despacio... creo que estoy algo sordo... pero es una excelente pieza, muy nostálgica...

  • i like prog death metal, i like tech death metal... and this is what death metal bands should be inspired by.

  • I can't believe those 14 people doesn't like Chopin. Something might be wrong with their ears

  • 14 people are deaf

  • @fabioleopardi89 Indeed.

  • Beautiful!

  • Qui est l'interprète ?

  • @lclmr8 Frederic Chopin?

  • 9.2 nocturne cannot be compared to the utter lyrism and intensity of this nocturne. 9.2 is a very beautiful bu this... this is DIVINE and EXALTED...

  • I prefer N°2 to this one, but this one is still nice. :)

  • I tought the N°1 of op9 would be the most popular but it's not. Funny!

  • Please post the performing artist. This interpretation captures the essence of Chopin's cantabile and rubato.

  • Oh Frédéric... You genius! What would have been of us if you wouldn´t have left so soon?

  • starting at about 3:45 it starts to get really amazing and intense. its a guide to intelligence.

  • So beautiful!

  • I'm proud of my country when I hear Szopen's music or when I read Mickiewicz's poems :D

  • koi zmysły...

  • Who's the pianist?

  • I'm from Poland and I'm glad we had such a nice artist.

And yes he was Polish, he felt a member of a polish nation, but he couldn't live in his homeland due to the time Poland had (read about our history). But instead he wrote many nice pieces for his beloved country.

Play for god up there friend, and look down as your homeland rises from the deep :)

  • this is the music which actually stopped me .....

  • Chopin is a Polish spirit in a perfect french costume. His Heart is in Varsovia Church. His Body au cimetière du père Lachaise, à Paris.

  • WOW i didnt know chopin played LoL ;/

  • @xbit1000 Lamest joke ever ;P

  • Un très bon moment d'écoute

  • love love love this

  • who plays this one?

  • @audreyhsux5727 Everyone should.. but I'm one of the lucky few :)

  • No. 3 is the best.

  • Who is the pianist ? Why don't you add his name ?

  • @olgaszkop chopin? =]

  • @olgaszkop

It's Frederic Chopin (or Fryderyk in his home-language)

  • @KrKovacz

Thanks for your answer but I didn't ask who is the composer (this everybody had noticed it) , but who is the PIANIST which plays in that video ?

  • @olgaszkop Well, I can't be sure of this... but I'm guessing Rubinstein, considering most of the videos on youtube of Chopin's nocturnes are played by him.

  • @lokitagaby17

This is not Rubinstein. I have this version on a CD with several pieces of Chopin played either by Dubravka Tomsic or by Ida Czernecka. Unfortunately, this CD does not specify which pianist plays each piece!

  • I love this as wellll........Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - Piano Concerto No. 21 - Andante...sooo peaceful! i feel like im on a clouddd

  • This piece makes me want to find my own private Idaho and just get away from the world.

  • I love this piece my favourite from chopin

  • This is so sad...

  • Definitely one of my favourite Chopin pieces.

  • @ryanwilk0 Is the best piece of Chopin

  • <3 I love Chopin.. :) This piece gives me goose-bumps whenever I listen to it ;D It's soothing, calming and strangely it's also a bit scary. It keeps you on the edge.. <3

  • Genial e humano.

  • Goes to show, people have not grown smarter, but just adapted to new technology. With this song as an example; proof that love is the meaning of life, pure love.

  • Eines meiner absoluten Lieblingsstücke! - Vielen herzlichen Dank!

  • cual es el verdadero nombre de esta cancion?

  • @avellan02 perdon pero que no se hablar espanhol mui bien (soy portugues) pero que há muchas nocturnes perto de 10 e esta es la:op.9 no.1

  • they should disable comment when it comes to classical masterpieces...

  • aah if only the author removed the comments below they leave a bad taste in the mouth after the awesome music

  • I played this by accident by randomly pressing keys.

  • Why are scrolling down! Just listen to the music.

  • @Zoladex12345 I'm afraid I can't agree with you. It doesn't matter if he missed Poland of something else. Nostalgy is universal.

  • @Zoladex12345 How can ou say that someone whose father is french and lived the major part of his life in France that he is ONLY polish. It doesn't make sense. I agree Chopin is more polish than french (everybody does in France, in fact), but his french identity has also its importance.

  • @lukawski100 I'm not saying it's good or bad, but look at the irony of it. you're saying to someone 'stop exaggerating' and at the same time saying everybody in France is more polish than french. Anyways, it just lighten my mood, thanks.

  • @ecchifoxzz You didn't understand me, certainly because I made a mistake (I'm not very good in english, sorry), what I meant is that in France, everybody considers that Chopin is a polish musician, with a polish heart. But there is also something french in his music...

  • @lukawski100 oh, right sorry. It could be taken both ways, but I took it the wrong way cause I didn't know the fact. thanks. (man, english slips so easily, and it's my fault also since i was pessimistic)

  • Beautiful

  • One of the best! Chopin is definitely my favorite composer.

  • Who's the pianist?

  • Simplement magnifique. The man was a genius.

  • lovely chopin composed many beautiful masterpices but this has to be the best.

  • Chopin born in Poland. Lived in France. Before he died he wanned his heart back to burry in his mother country. Simply glorious.

  • @azerbah I'm sorry to say, he is burried in Pere Lechaise cemetery in Paris right to the left of my Hero Michel Petrucianni.

  • this is true beauty, soul, and music

  • Chopin couldn't make an annoying piece. He was simply a genius! :)

  • ich habe mich verliebt in seine musik

  • @Zuperhamster

Sorry, but that's feel-good bullshit. Chopin was exceptionally polish, he is a polish composer, it shines through in every aspect of his major works - the ballades are written after polish folk writings, the mazurkas after traditional polish dances, polonaise simply means polish etc. Chopin was very aware of his historical and cultural background and used it to great effect in his compositions.

  • @Chopin096 listening justin bieber

  • Op. 9, No. 2 is the famous Nocturne, maybe even the most famous Chopin piece, or maybe even the most famous piano piece.

I much prefer this piece though :)

  • @NStenO I completely agree. There are 15 chopin pieces that I prefer over nocturne 9-2 ANY day. It is not the best nocturne, not the most famous Chopin piece, CERTAINLY not the most famous piano piece. I can even say it somewhat lacks the deep melancholy and romanticism MANY Chopin pieces have. nocturne 48-1, 27-1 and posth (C sharp minor). Maybe it is easy to capture the melody for the most people I don't know.

  • i don't see why anyone can't like this. (screw you 8 unworthy people)

  • Chopin is a pimp.

  • Anyone can listen to lyrics, relate to them and feel emotion, but it takes real music with no lyrics to bring true emotion to your heart. It takes music with no lyrics to move your soul :)

  • Chopin's music sounds good to me.

  • Dragostea consta in dorinta de a da ceea ce este al tau altuia si de a simti fericirea acestuia ca si cum ar fii a ta.MI-E DOR DE NOI!Daca fericirea are chipul tau ,atunci niciodata nu va fii.....prea tarziu.

  • @corinutza75 Dragostea din tei?

  • @Seraphim3k you pwnd her xD

  • @corinutza75 Unrelated to everything...what does dragostea mean? Recognize the word from dragostea din tei:P

  • @wazzobazzo dragostea = the love

  • @corinutza75 What language are you speaking? I want to learn it

  • @jake180289 Romanian

  • @jake180289 That's French

  • @mre2u2 No it's not French

  • @jake180289 Chopin had a french father and lived the majority of his life in France...So I guess it's partly french.

  • im playing this piece on my exammmmmmm

  • @BassicStorm Me too!! =D

  • @BassicStorm We are the same:D

  • This is a lovely version!

  • beautiful

  • i am not a fan of classical music too much

but i am a great fan of chopin s style..

  • The reason why i love Chopin so much is because a lot of his work pulls my heart strings, like this piece for example.

  • Music is universal, at least true music. It comes from a composser's heart, and it's made to be beautiful. You don't have to like all music, of course... there are different kinds of music for different kind of people, just like there are different kinds of anything in the world. If you like something, enjoy it. If you dislike something, look for another thing you like and enjoy that. Personally, I'm not a piano fan, but I love Chopin's pieces.

  • Peace and Love

  • No. 2 all the way.

  • @MaximusLupus

truth is more melancholic and simple :) is perfect

  • Usually I drink absinthe to this. Simply amazing.

  • utwory Chopina są niesamowite,....

  • if Chopin could see the dribble that's being written as a response to this post he would possibly be rolling in his grave. Disgusting. Just listen and let the relaxing melody take you to another place.

  • Heaven...

  • @charminglayla

yes, I think that sums it up pretty adequately. my all-time favorite piece of music.

  • Listening to this while a thunderstorm is going on and its hailing really hard awes me for some reason...the power of nature?

  • Genius!

  • Co za asy.

  • @SuperMefisto6666 love it =3 hahaha co za asy =3

  • i was so sick of listening to jay -z

  • @trilobite3339 even hip hop fans are

  • @trilobite3339 oh god, fiiinaly! :D

  • @trilobite3339 im not.... But still listening this music because its even more beatiful than jay z

  • @trilobite3339 who's jay-z?

  • @miepdetruus Small piece of shit that richman made him look cool and famous

  • @trilobite3339 LOL. I was literally just listening to Watch The Throne before I played Chopin :]

  • Chopin is the only composer you hear and you know its " Chopin " . He is my favorite romantic composer !

  • My favorite song from him, i was to Elisabeth Leonskaja's Recitals in Romania, and it was so beautiful when she played this part ..

  • heard this piece for first time one december evening on the banks of Lake Michigan, 1977. Loved it more than the others.

  • Some people dont like Chopin and they like Justin Bieber!! Isn't stupid and incredible?

  • @Topas97 Certainly stupid, certainly not incredible. Nothing surprises me in today's western societies anymore.

  • @Topas97 : Well, Classical music is surely harder to enjoy than Pop music. I personally listen to classical pieces as well as Lady Gaga music. I think music is made for people's satisfaction so it is important that you like the music you are listening to, no matter it is Gaga or Chopin or whoever, ...

  • @dqvhncity: you have reason :)

  • the music just flows, from one note to the next, creating this beautiful melody... What would the world do without Chopin?

  • INCREDIBLE!!!!

  • I(and a majority of listeners) personally prefer Opus 9 #2.

#1 gives me such an empty feeling of loss.

  • @ptdrawoh well that is exactly why it is called a nocturne. It is music produced from dark situations

  • @ptdrawoh Listen to it a few more times, and perhaps you might understand it more. It paints a beautiful night just like no. 2, but this night just more eerie and lonely. When it changes to major, it seems as if the sun had rose and he attracts people and brings them to marvelous realms of wonder and tells them tales of his life. Then people start to leave and he asks himself why, maybe because it is nighttime again?

Well, that's just my personal interpretation and opinion.

  • @ptdrawoh maybe that was exactly what chopin was striking for when writing this beautiful, beautiful piece...

  • I came here to listen to Chopin and that is what I shall do!

  • Thumbs up if Jeremy W. Smith brought you here!

  • "like" if jeremy william smith sent u here! :P

  • Is there any Youtube video - however beautiful - that doesn't end in people slagging off each others' culture? This is sublime - please delete all your negative comments - if ever there was a piece of music that says live together as brothers this is it

  • you play beautifully! i, however, cannot get the goddamn thing to sound right :(

  • Wow! I am stunned at these negative comment fights over religion and such. What does this work have to do with God, religion or anything other than Chopin? Grow up people!

  • Unfortunately, not all Polish are Chopins, not all Americans Edisons, not all French Voltaires... I'm not proud of being Belgian, because X or Y is a great Belgian, that's so ridiculously flagwaving absurdity. Chopin is a little bit French, American, German, Japanese, Indian, Nigerian, and that's why he appeals across all borders. Because he created universal beauty.

  • @Zuperhamster nigerian? how?

  • @lovellespice he/she means that music is a universal language. you cannot attribute a musician/his work, in this case, Chopin and his piece, to a nationalistic identity. music is free of borders and could be played and enjoyed in all spectra of lands without causing harm and the stupid wars that exists today.

    i rest my case.

  • @Zuperhamster Your words are true and meaningful you deserve to be heard...I have listened.

  • @Zuperhamster It can be explained in the following way: a human being can be Mozart, Newton, Chopin.... great! but unfortunatelly, a human being can be also Hitler, Mussolini....

We have the power to do everything, good or bad..

  • @Zuperhamster Hey, never mind, because in Belgium they make some of the most delicious sorts of chocolates that I know ;)

  • @Zuperhamster

i would be proud of being amarican because you people have got mickey mouse :P.
