hey there, did u draw up the perspective and import to sketchup? how did u get textures onto ur drawing? i really wanna use this idea for my presentations. did u draw this up on sketchup first?
I just graduated as an architect in a London Uni. These types of vids get me motivated and that little bit more motivated, to enter competitions and get the career going.
hey doug, its been a long time since i stoped drawing (on a daily basis) and now im thinking that architecture might be the right career for me. do u think my lack of drawing through out these years could be a fact on weather i shoud pursue arch?
hey,im in 2nd year of architectural technology. Got some concerns.first im good at using software like AutoCAD but its hard to me to picture 3-D :(. what would you suggest.and then should i go all the way to be an architect? Is it worth it? Knowing that these days construction business is down to its lowest point. and last thing, how do i keep in touch with you through school days so you would give me great ideas.since you really are inspiring me i want you to respond to me so im stay motivated.
being able to conceptualize is more important than being able to think in 3 dimensions, although thinking in 3D is a powerful tool. At the end of the day I believe that people should do things because it's what they're made to do. Money or job availability, while important, is not a reason not to do something. You do something because it's in your heart. The rest will come. Maybe not in the way you think or were expecting. Follow your dreams and in the mean time get a job to pay the bills:)
thanks. these houses are EXTREMELY condensed design problems so they really don't represent a true design process. I do these by coming up with an idea or theme based on the client/site/program and simply start sketching. Once I've got the basic form down I'll take it into perspective sketches then more detialed hardline drawings to develop it further. Then to software to add color, fills, images, text, etc...
A fireplace in california eh? I live in minnesota and during the frigid, disgustingly cold winters it tips to around 60 degrees below zero. Anything where water isn't freezing...I think Kevin Bacon will be just fine.
doug you should make a video showing how you colour your sketches
