I am not a Mormon and never considered joining their church, but it is the only organized religious group that I really have a lot of respect for...they have strict moral beliefs and most do more than talk about their morals and church, they actually live by their church's moral standards and that's inspiring.

Catholic choirs really do sound lovely too but to be clear competition is DEFINATELY not in any way the intention of ANY tabernacle choir performance, nor any focus at all of the mormon church. It is however encouraged by the LDS church to befriend other faiths - not compete against them.

Also there is a VAST difference between The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and a satanic cult. I encourage theeagerburger to look it up before making such ignorant comments.

You're right, we differ here. Where does Paul say it's futile? We believe that since God is fair and He loves all His children equally, He gives us all an equal chance to accept Christ. But what about people who would accept Him but don't ever hear His gospel? Jesus taught that our hearts condemn us, not where God chose for us to be born...

Still, Christ Himself says if our names arent written in book of life then we are cast out :-}

But...first things first, you need to sincerely listen to the Lord and pray with real intent as to the truthfulness of what you read.

But they were baptizing living people as proxy for people who had passed away-as Paul stated. But there is no reason to take Paul's word for it. Someone once said, "If you want to talk to the Lord, then pray...and if you want to hear His answer, study the scriptures." I love to read the New Testament especially the first 4 books. But here's the caveat: If your heart is not open to follow through on the answer the Lord gives you, you probably won't receive a witness of His doctrine. :)

Careful with this verse. Paul is NOT saying GO AHEAD, baptise them for the dead. He says THAT IS FUTILE. He is instead making the point that THERE IS a resurection. "YES, the dead are raised to life. Yes there is a resurrection."

It seems pretty illogical to assume Paul was telling the Sadducees that resurrection was a true principle by referencing an "evil" practice that supported the doctrine. It seems much more logical that he would be referencing a true priesthood ordinance that both sides of the discussion believed in. After all, baptism for the dead would only be futile if the dead did NOT rise at all. If they do rise, then baptism serves the same purpose as it does for us, and we both know they do rise again...

Perhaps one of the top 5 songs that are identified with America. There is no way this performance could be bettered. Ms. Domiciano's voice is mesmorizing and is not overpowered by the magnificant Choir. The more base Hollywood glitz dissappears, almost instantly. just to correct "jsnider81", she did not win the brazilian idol because she was never at brazilian idol. Her beggining was at "Raul Gil" program from "Rede Record" (a brazilian channel), about five years ago. She used to sing there every saturday in a competition for singers. It was in the same time and at the same TV program that the great Rinaldo appeared, they started together and at Raul Gil.

I used to watch her every saturday. Her voice is wonderfull.
