You can make it look better if you use the same techiques used for trimming or prunning bonsai and normal trees, pruned trees look better even if the result isn't "natural".

I love drawing trees, I love being able to go whereever I want, you can go to a desert, a field, turn this way go that way, go up and down. I love it, instead of drawing a straight line first though, I like to just draw a trunk free hand, have it slanting to one side or the other. I drew my first leafless tree yesturday, it was so hard, but it turned out great! I didn't even look up how! I just went freehand, now when we go out to eat, I draw trees all over the to-go boxes!
