He has been an officer for several years. Imagine the terrible things he must have witnessed. It's a terrible world we live in and the things that weigh on this officers mind on a daily basis are more than anyone should have to bear. This is not a black or white issue. It's an issue of a breach of police confidentionality. Doctors and Nurses have to keep patients info confidentional, why shouldn't police officers have to keep cases confidential? I have lost all respect for the Erie Police Dept. for letting this man get away with this. I feel sorry for the family of the murder victim. He has been an officer for several years. Imagine the terrible things he must have witnessed. It's a terrible world we live in and the things that weigh on this officers mind on a daily basis are more than anyone should have to bear. Imagine having to deal with criminals and evil on a daily basis. After awhile the world starts to look quite grim.

This officer is obviously very broken up about what he witnessed. He is dealing with his experience in a classic way. He is obviously trying to downplay the reality and gravity of what he has witnessed. He needs professional help. I don't think his comments warrant him being fired from the force. However, pending an investigation if those claims of taking camera phone pictures are not a drunken exaggeration of what transpired, then he should be held accountable for that.

Well I feel that everyone has a right to freedom of speach, but it is one thing to speak freely, and speaking freely. If he was to talk about that case with one person instead of a bar full of people, then it wouldn't have been a problem. Yes he was drunk but we tell the truth when we are drunk, and it should be called the truth telling drink.
