I agree with Ellenrussel. If we teach kids politics now they will be very intellectual! Instead of falling in love with all of those fantasy space monster and light sabers. Think of all those smart children.
Oh my gosh, this is just so darned cute. A kid who loves Colbert is a kid I'd love to know. Or, at least I like to know a cool kid exists. haha. Very cute.
I love how Stephen makes Star Wars and Comics feel important. Captain America recently died in the comics, and Marvel head Joe Quesada gave Stephen Cap's shield. Stephen thumps it, and says, "Now THAT is the sound of indestructible Wakandan vibranium!" Sure enough, the shield is a fusion of vibrinium from African Wakanda and other alloys (the scientist who made it fell asleep so couldn't repeat it!). None other than Franklin D. Roosevelt presented it to Cap!
How dare you not provide Thomas with the Colbert lightsabre he desires! LOL! P.S. Can you let us know the date of the episode that he was originally on? (i.e. "This is the Colbert Report!")
What he was asking was to see the clip of Steven on the green screen. I, of course, didn't have that clip on the screen of my video camera. I'm sure we went right out and watched it on the tv when we were done playing in his room. He was on August 8, 2006.
Thanks for all the great comments. They're so fun.
OK, that makes so much more sense. I was wondering, "Why would a lightsabre be in a video camera???" And thanks for your compliment. I love watching Thomas and Katy the gymnist!
Thanks on behalf of all of us. I made it sound like I was taking all the credit.
There are a handful of clips that crack me up out of nowhere when I think of them. Like Simpsons and Mr. Show bits. But right there at the top is "OhNOmomaspacemonsterI'mgonnausemylightsabertofightit!!! Phshewew Phshewew!!!" Then he's like "That's a wrap!"
We sent this as part of a longer video thank-you to them for putting him on the show. They were very nice to us through the process, which has been so fun for us. We really posted the original clip so that our family could all see, so getting it on the air was a surprise and a treat. I've really enjoyed watching the number of viewings go up on both clips and reading the comments. Thanks to all. Glad you've liked it, too!
Aww - this kid is too cute - maybe Stephen'll send him his lightasber and autograph it or something.
By the way, did you you get in touch with the Report when they put the first video on? Did they send you like a shirt, or one of those awesome blue glowing pens?
