I've just caught up with Mike Leigh's " Meantime", 28 years on. Absolutely riveting, gritty study of hopelessness on a London estate. Performances so believable, they hurt. But what is more painful is that it could so easily be now. For the unemployable underclass, we have come nowhere, or worse.

00:51 the guy with the glasses is Phil Daniels, who played the protaganist mod in the film Quadrophenia and did the main vocals on Blur's Parklife (on the video, anyway).

I can't believe this is a genuine trailer, must be a joke surely. Funny though. I laugh all the way through this film, every time I watch it, and seen it a million times. :-D

@jasonismyhomie SAME poor colin ambling about lost over to that statue makes me laugh as well. that poor fucking kid! I think that chode rock is blink 182. Apparently one of them asswipes is a big fan of this film and bought the rights to it. He's planning to re-release it with a Blink 182 soundtrack. I for one cant wait!

ok did the narrator recorded ths like within the last few years becuase if this came out in 1984 thn how could Gary Oldman have played in Air Force One made in 1997 and Bram's Stokers Dracula made in 1992, ths is confusing!!!
