I like the last album the best so far, the whole thing was awesome from beginning to end. I thought that the first half of "scattering of ashes" was a little generic, but the last half is arguably their best material. Especially "surrounded by night" my favorite track of all!!! Stu is just an awesome vocalist...

What I don't really like about this band is the way they write songs. It like has music add. When Dream Theater does that sort of thing the transitions fit.. I went back to earlier albums and notice they do a lot of fast transitions that don't really fit. It comes off as a way to show off and makes the songs less strong as they could be. In place of the "hooky" part coming up randomly maybe a better musical bridge?

Stu has an amazing range. I just wish he had a thicker tone to his voice. The only thing that matters is the tone and strength that you come across as being a singer. I am not a HUGE fan of his tone but I do like his voice. His is very talented. EVERY vocalist has limitations. His pbly lacking in jazz/bluegrass/ blues vocals.

Having a wider range only makes someone more skilled in a technical sense. To me vocals are all about tone and control. You could have the smallest range but I love tone. I talk to Stu on facebook and recognize his AMAZING skill I am just not a Huge fan of his vocal tone. I don't listen to a lot of BFMV. He has a naturally thin voice.
