  • 0:18 Didnt know was even possible..

  • 0:14 south african roik-fuck? ... I´m almost just they pronounce it differently in SA, in in does deserve it´s good name ;-)

  • @APedroSanchez It's ''Rooivalk'' :)

  • where's the mi-28 havoc??? :@

  • 3:16 poor mg gunner

  • HAL LCH FTW.... ? Okay Fyn.... Thts Pushing it a bit too far. But Yeah.... Apache is a combat proven System with Awesome Avionica and Radar on the AH64D Longbow. ofcourse... We can also say the newer Mil28Havoc could be better. But no westerner would ever accept tht. especially on TV. :D As Variatas has so aptly pointed out. Its a very NATO Centric program, not giving credit to a lot of Soviet/Russian tech.

  • Get it right THE COBRA AH1 is from US MARINES fool NOT from the US Army! get it right!

  • @kevenboy15 Actually before the Apache, AH-1 Cobra was the Army's prime attack helicopter.

  • @kevenboy15 You mean its the copter the marines remained stuck with, while even the british have apaches on their carriers.

  • @kevenboy15 depends on the version and what time period

early cobra s where part of the army!

but certainly not the new ones

  • @OlderG0ds

Look into the apache on milblogs and military websites.

  • @Ag3nt0fCha0s Its resistant to 12.7mm .50 cal fire but not 14.5 Anti-Material rifle fire.

  • @Saulscmit

Well that's good news, I'm glad the Apache can resist .50 Cal., because nobody fires 14.4mm, right?

Oh yah, before I forget, at low altitude, the apache can't resist 7.62.

  • @Ag3nt0fCha0s Probably due to physics & velocity. Weight (W or g) are always acting on the bullets. then drag & heat of course...7.62 round fly at about mach 5

  • @Ag3nt0fCha0s good old 14.4 , it's something the opponents of Western forces never have in stock .... ha

  • @OlderG0ds I doubt the Hind can go much faster than 200mph, all helicopters have a speed limit around 250-300 mph because as you go faster in the air, one side of the rotor is supersonic while the other one can barely catch air.

And I think Ag3nt0fCha0s is referring to the fact that the military keeps finding out just how vulnerable their attack helicopters are. This isnt anything new really, the army knew that since forever (this is also a plot point in tom clancey's red storm rising).

  • why no one said that Germany had first functional helicopter ??? And they put the first weapons helicopter were MG42

the best helicopter and the only helicopter you ever need is nh90 and tiger from the eurocopter, and if you want maybe EC635 but is optional

  • @Ag3nt0fCha0s

You are right about that ;) , in 2006 news came on media about an Iraqi FARMER who shot down an invading helicopter with ONLY his rifle striking at the right spot. Not sure what the helicopter was but it proved that any military equipment can be countered with enough knowledge about its weak spot. Just like Abrams were discovered the weakest tank ever from behind where the engine is( and now they have a big slat armor behind them).

  • @HelloPiya

The rifle type was never mentioned and if I remember correctly the helo was an apache, however I don't believe that report was ever verified by non-Iraqui news sources, ergo I'm not sure I believe it.

However, a major factor in the British Apaches' loss-free combat record over Afghanistan has been their sophisticated counter-measures systems that allow them to fly in the "SAM belt" and thus avoid ground fire, such as rifle fire.

As for Abrams, youtube search "the real M1" by BTD

  • @OlderG0ds

there was a hind in the 80's that took off the stub wings and stripped it of weight to get some world records, standard hinds go like 160 or around that.

the apache armor is only good around the pilot/gunner and a few spots around the fuel tanks. the rest of it "offically" can resist .50 but only about 35-40% of the chopper is resistant to .50

  • @OlderG0ds rotors resist 23 mm,but other parts are not capable of resist the impact of the 14.7 mm or the .50 cal at 1Km distance,of course you will need hugh balls to shoot an apache team without extra support at that distance

  • @corporacionmonstruo

no rotors can resist a direct hit from a 23mm AA round. none in the world. thats just obsurd to say.

the apache armor is only resistant to 23mm around the pilot/gunner and a few spots around the fuel tanks. the rest of it "offically" can resist .50 but only about 35-40% of the chopper is resistant to .50

  • @corporacionmonstruo

if i had an M2 .50 or a pkkm (15mm AA) i would engage an apache if it was hostile towards me, but yes i'd have to be quick cause that 30mm can cause some pain

  • If I were in a tank with an apache or a cobra targeting me I WOULD GET OUT AND RUN FOR MY LIFE IF ITS ISN'T TOO LATE.

  • @OlderG0ds An apache can be brought down with small arms fire it only takes one magazine of well aimed ak fire to knock it down

  • @OlderG0ds

At close enough range infantry MGs will penetrate Apache.

There was a mission which went titsup because it was all Apaches either in 2003 and 2006.

I forget the precise details at the moment, I'll have a quic look to see if I can find them for you.

The mission was retried with UH60s supporting the Apaches and it was successful.

  • Outstanding video. The Cobras in Vietnam were another reason why US had total supremacy of the sky. Loaches were used to spot enemy targets and communicate it to the Cobras.

  • italian mangusta??

  • @aktarus2

    It's on part 3

  • AT least they mentioned the Cobra, i´ve seen a documentary that said that this disign wasnt chosen and directly gone over to Apache ! I turned that docu off immediately ! LOL !

  • Missing Kamovs and Miljs

It's a bit NATO centric, which leaves a lot of amazing designs out of it

  • @adrastea99 This series has always had a very NATO-centric viewpoint to it. It's probably half chest-thumping, half stock footage is harder to come by. This is the History Channel, after all.

  • 11 killstreak

  • I LIEK WAFFLES!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Where is the Russian Hind?
