I noticed they weren't dancing to the beat most of the time. The routine was also pretty safe, aside from that one lift, so it didn't really stand out for me. Other than that, it was okay.
Actually, Dan's comments were pretty much right on. He is a terrible choreographer but a GREAT judge. Compare this disco to Brandon & Janette's disco (from US Season 5) and there is a BIG difference. Or compare this disco to that from US Season 2 (Travis & Heidi), etc.
I'm not hating on them at all. To be honest, ALL of these couples will be exposed once they get ballroom because none of them are ballroom dancers except for Vincent. That's also the reason the producers keep saving him!!
The reason why Jayme-Rae and Daniel did SO GOOD at hip hop and dancehall is because they are BOTH hip-hop dancers. The show pretends that Jayme-Rae is only a "contemporary" dancer, but she prob. does more hip hop in real life. She's even part of a female hip hop dance crew. This is also why Melanie is good at hip hop. Don't be fooled by what the producers try to label them as!

I would like to see them do some ballroom. I am still skeptical as to whether they can 'do it all'
I agreed with Dan, I saw it live and it actually looked a little slower and not as sharp. Not their best but they are still a god couple in their element. I would like to see more variation from them to see if they truly can 'do it all'.
The lifts in this show in general I think are pretty simple. I wish Emanual would step up and show them some different more difficult lifts lol.
Disco is so much fun....I love it.

well yeah, but Jayme auditioned as a contemporary dancer. it's no secret that she does hip hop as well.
