Everyone knows that the only reason Gensokyo hasn't been made into Flandre's personal playground of doom is because Danmaku is her favourite game and she plays by the rules. If the rules of Danmaku were removed from Gensokyo, everyone save the SDM family would all 'lose' to Flan-chan in some other one of her playful 'games'. Her childish obedience and respect for Remelia remains the only reason she hasn't left the mansion to go and 'play' with everyone else and blow the whole place up.

@RyunosukeRyusei I know how powerful Flan could be since her power is "to destroy everything" but I don't think she can defeat higher lvl beings such as Yukari (she can manipulate the border of life then I think she can manipulate the border of destruction as well), Yuka (I think), Reimu (Zun's words, to float even to reality), Yuyuko (she'll just wish Flan would die), Shiki (she's a yama), Mukuo & Kaguya (they're immortals), and probably few others...

Yukari - Approaches everyone when they dont expect it and just gaps them into space for instanst suffocation.

Marisa - same approach and point blank final master spark. Bound to make a hole if not 3rd degree burns on entire body.

Satori Koishi - ability to move unnoticed and just backstab people while they are asleep.

Reimu - just drops the ball, screws up the boarder and blows up entire gensokyou

ZUN did not copy or base his characters on anything, there may be one or two where he got an idea from something else, but in those cases he's made mention about that. Most of what you're saying is actually fan ideas or CONNECTIONS that fans have made to each character. Ran was only used in a spellcard as an attack, she never counted as an opponent durning Yukari's battle, as well Ran and Chen are way weaker, but Yukari does fight you fairly and is beatable durning her Danmku battles....She's just very hard.

That could be said about pretty much anyone! Sakuya can control time. Couldn't she just stop time and kill everyone while they are frozen? Remilia can control fate, couldn't she just decide everyone was to die? Yuka control FLOWERS! Couldn't she just grow flowers inside someone?

Fans usually are fans due to the music and/or the patterns created by the bullets.
