  • does somebody know the name of the song at the beginning please? :)

  • is that Denis Leary at 136 ?

  • Tarkovsky is his father.

  • @dbnovaro spiritual or biologival or both ???

  • I was thinking of seeing this movie, but the trailer was close to putting me off.

  • Big Thanks....:)

  • a masterpiece. Love .

  • I drink your milkshake?

  • Is this like most of Malick's movies where most scene are just voice overs with very little dialogue?

  • really a bad idea to narrate the trailer for this movie in this manner.....who did this to this wonderful movie ? STFU and just play the score.

  • He actually lets you get to know the characters without force feeding information that constantly reminds you that you're in a plot. Then the dreamlike quality hits reality, which makes it all the more jarring and tragic.

  • Hehehe he doesn't even get the name quite right ... he says "THE Days of Heaven"

  • Movies were pretty good even back then, but trailers sure sucked.

  • what is the song in the trailer?

  • this trailer sucks,sorry

  • The 70s were the golden age of hilariously bad trailers.

  • boring ass movie with beautiful cinematography. end of story.

  • Wow this trailer is so bad.

  • it the first trailer ever that I turned off after 1minute

  • trailer's not so bad if you mute it.

  • Run, Richard!!! Get yer land!! =D

  • these old trailers give away everything and make the movies seem weird. tree of life trailer gave me a brain boner.

  • Wow. I saw this movie a long long time ago and knew nothing about it or its director at that time. Very disturbing. i liked it and thought of it as memorable. Tonight I have just watched Badlands. And while I was doing some research on Terrence Malik I came across this movie. And remembered everything. I think masterpieces really stick to the memory and stand out

  • agre. A terrible trailer. A wonderful film. A true entry...

  • If you're thinking of seeing this movie please don't be put off by the less than flattering trailer which doesn't do any justice to this interesting film.

  • @richard1973 True, it makes it seem just a mushy love story. a love triangle cliche

  • wow, i agree, tramp, a terrible trailer, but the wonderful movie has now been re-mastered as a Criterion release on blu-ray, and finally looks and sounds like it always should have. And actually, i originally thought that the cinematography on this movie was by Haskell Wexler, not Nestor Almendros----- both true masters. Great film, very underrated, glad other people like it too, and even Richard Gere is good here, but Sam Sheppard does fit the movie a bit more, as tigerlilly points out.

  • Oh Nestor, there will never be another cinematographer like you, another style so sublime like yours.

  • @dharmaista agreed!

  • It turns into Amityville Horror at 1:47.

  • Forget Richard Gere, Sam Shepard was beautiful.

  • I could be mistaken, but I think my mom was an extra in this film. She was a nurse in the background or something....she even spoke with Richard Gere for a few moments. This is the only Richard Gere film I could find that was filmed in and around Lethbridge, Alberta (the prairie in this movie looks just like it does here, and that train bridge at 0:27 is a major landmark here in Lethbridge).

  • Wonderful Trailer <3

  • great movie!

that girl's accent is....yeah..if you've seen it you know.

did this win any awards? just wondering.

  • @AniceAct "ive bin thinkin what to do with mah futuh

I cud be a mud docta – checkn out tha erth, undaneath"

  • @otacon451 bahaha, funny that you bring that up! it is my favorite part of the movie! my mom and I randomly say that and people look at us like "what did they just say?"

  • great trailer great movie...nuff said

  • This is a wonderful trailer.

  • al pacino toruned down the role for richard gere

  • Hey...I remember seeing this when I was younger, but not liking it...I feel bad now since by all standards it's a great movie. I'm gonna rewatch it and give it the rightful appreciation it deserves! :D

  • That running through the woods with a gun scene was so like Badlands. I only just noticed.

  • Haven't seen this movie yet but after watching this this trailer i am very anxious to see it. I loved The Thin Red Line and I want to see more of Malick's films

  • @Freeskier475 Malick has only made 4 films, Badlands is the best in my opinion!

  • just out on blue ray

  • The greatest living director since Kubrick died, and one of the very greatest films of all time.

  • a fine film this is!

  • Yes... sey .. this mooVee has much two see.......... a very good proDucK shun... ahahahaha

  • wow,.... RIchard Gere young.......

  • Shows tonight, Fri. 1/15, at Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque, 9:40 pm.

  • This would be incredible on the big screen.

  • where can i see this movie?????

    p-l--e-a-s-e! i need this fast!!

  • Now showing at Filmstreams in Omaha.

  • thanks!

  • I have the extreme joy of announcing you this film will be released on blu-ray by Criterion (criterion always release reference grade audio and video quality discs for the sake of movie aficionados) its suppose to be release in a month or two

  • thank u very much!!

  • is it a good movie?

  • @TheMistermuppet very much so! see it now, if you haven't! it's unforgettable!

  • STEAL IT FROM THE INTERNET!!!!

  • its not really stealing more like cloning or duplicating since nothing is taken away

  • Beautiful, Beautiful Film!

  • This is an awesome trailer! Wonderful music by Mr. Ennio Morricone! And I LOVED the mysterious creepy ending!

  • Saw a revival of this movie in a gorgeously restored 70mm,6 track Dolby Stereo(as it was released to theatres along with the standard 35mm prints,of course)print not too long ago.

I think it's out on DVD. If so,a widescreen TV & a kickass sound system are all you need to enjoy this beautiful movie.

  • Did they talk about the million of indians killed?

  • what a terrible trailer for a wonderful movie.

  • @thetramp123 I don't see what you mean. The trailer correctly presents the film, not making it look as though it were a genre movie, but being fairly honest about the material at hand. Also the good usage of the main theme practically makes it a good trailer by itself!

  • @IantheLiberal It has none of the emotion or poetic feeling. It has a pretty poor narration that leaves me feeling thoroughly uninterested. It makes it appear to be a common period romantic drama piece.

  • @thetramp123 Works for me. Has a high volume of scenic shots for a trailer, giving the viewer the honest perception that it's deeper than just a dramatic effort

  • @thetramp123 i agree wih you.

  • A beautiful film in every way. One that didn't get lost in the summer of "Grease" and "Animal House". This film stood out in a lot of ways. Seeing Richard Gere playing a character that was out of character for him at the time. Wonderful photography by the late Nestor Almendros. And perhaps the finest score Ennio Morricone ever made. Terrence Malick is supposedly working on a filmed adaptation of "The Catcher In The Rye". Good luck!

  • @poughkeepsiejohn Salinger made it pretty much impossible for anyone to adapt it. I heard its even harder now that he's dead.

  • @poughkeepsiejohn ... to me, the best of Morricone is in "The Mission" and "Fateless"

    hugs! ♫

  • This movie drained Malick so much that he didn't make another movie for 20 years-must have been hard going.

  • i love this film. brooke adams is a great actress...and very lovely. the film is one of the most beautifully ever shot of all films.
