The E.T timer does not start until the car moves (comes out of the staging beams) . The difference in time between when the light turns green and when the driver leaves is the reaction time. He can sit the for a complete minute after the light turns green and still get a 9 second E.T. Which is fine during testing, but in a race situation, your not trying to see who gets a better E.T, your racing to the finish line.
@chrizinho11 The ZL1 is intended to be in the same class as the GT500. The SS could be considered as the closet thing to compete against the Boss, but the GT is what the SS really is against.
That said, I wish I could afford to supercharge my Camaro just so I could try to run against a turbo powered Cobra like that. Instead I'll just enjoy running my 383 powered 79 for personal amusement :D

This mustang has the stock long block. That civic does not.
The purpose of this stang was to be the fastest stock long block 03/04 cobra in the world. It ran 8.95 at 155 and set the record. I think it still stands. If he wanted to go faster, a built 5.4L, ported heads and cams would have gone in and it would have ran high 7's.

@marcomariaz26 The evo has cylinder heads that flow well and so does this 03 cobra. The evo has a 2.0 engine and this cobra has a 4.6. Both have turbos. So unless there is some secret horsepower magic there is no way to make enough horsepower in an evo to run 9's on pump gas. And running 30+ psi and 100% meth to run 9's inst a pump gas car nor is that streetable. I could drive a 8000 hp top fuel drag car down the interstate does that make it a street car??
@SETexasCustoms Ultimately, yes, you are correct. No FWD car/vehicle can handle 3000hp, only RWD can do that. Average street driver car, no. I'm talking practically in everyday driving, not Top Fuelers or Funnycars.
@marcomariaz26 There's no simple answer for everyone, and I have nothing against AWD. I truly love cars, all cars (except maybe FWD, there's just no appeal to me). I tend to stick to RWD because it fun, I like power slides and donuts. Not to say you can't do those thing with AWD, just look at Ken Block :) The only thing that bothers me is when people seem to believe if it's not AWD it's crap, or if it's a V8 it's crap, or if it's an I4 it's crap. I already came to the conclusion that theres more than the turbo...but does replacing the supercharger with a single turbo add ALOT more horsepower or just stick to the charger? @KingFreak07 Really?? There is a street driven EVO on here running low 9's on race gas, mid 9's on pump gas. No slicks or drag radials needed. Four doors, full interior. Street driven. AWD > RWD.

@marcomariaz26 Stop internet racing and get back to the real world. NO evo will ever run 9's on pump gas unless its gutted and a complete race car. Evo's are great cars but 9's on pump gas is just bullshit. This cobra is running 9's and i guarentee its running race gas and probably 25 psi and thats expected. But im so tired of hearing about 4 cylinders that make 15 million horsepower on pump gas. I had a turbo honda and now a cobra. Cobra has way more potential

@marcomariaz26 The evo has cylinder heads that flow well and so does this 03 cobra. The evo has a 2.0 engine and this cobra has a 4.6. Both have turbos. So unless there is some secret horsepower magic there is no way to make enough horsepower in an evo to run 9's on pump gas. And running 30+ psi and 100% meth to run 9's inst a pump gas car nor is that streetable. I could drive a 8000 hp top fuel drag car down the interstate does that make it a street car??

@SETexasCustoms Ultimately, yes, you are correct. No FWD car/vehicle can handle 3000hp, only RWD can do that. Average street driver car, no. I'm talking practically in everyday driving, not Top Fuelers or Funnycars.

@marcomariaz26 There's no simple answer for everyone, and I have nothing against AWD. I truly love cars, all cars (except maybe FWD, there's just no appeal to me). I tend to stick to RWD because it fun, I like power slides and donuts. Not to say you can't do those thing with AWD, just look at Ken Block :) The only thing that bothers me is when people seem to believe if it's not AWD it's crap, or if it's a V8 it's crap, or if it's an I4 it's crap. I've been beaten enough to know otherwise :)

@2889joeracer i'm a big fan of actual circuit track racing, but you have to respect what drag people do to their cars. you cant just say "auto is useless in real racing". these people build their cars for a purpose. they don't use a manual tranny, just so that they can tell themselves, "if this track had a corner, I would be winning". you try getting a car into the 9s with a manual tranny, and you can teach us all day long.

@impreziv im not saying an auto is bad for drag racing. its clearly the best for radical engines. i just see it working better with a supercharger rather than a turbo because of the time it takes to spool. i have a lot of respect for the drag racing type cars they are incredible machines tuned for an incredible amount of speed in a short time. the auto is the best for drags agreed . lol if i had the money to build any car to get into the 9s i would do my best but i know thats not happening.

Thats an awesome car....anyone know if theres a kit for this...got me a stock 03....anyone have any ideas as to what has to be done or what has been done on this car to get it the way it is? I already came to the conclusion that theres more than the turbo...but does replacing the supercharger with a single turbo add ALOT more horsepower or just stick to the charger? Any cheap upgrades to gain hp that anyone knows that actually works? Thanks guys!!

yeah the turbo will flow alot more air, thus giving you way more power, depending on the size of the turbo, if i were you and you got the money get a turbo lol
