Walter Williams is one of the most brilliant economists of our time. He and Tom Sowell are a gift to all of us...providing actual facts to debunk failed leftist (read: socialist) world views. The irony of all of these social programs is that a) they succeed in doing the exact opposite of their intended purpose and b) they lump minorities into groups rather than as individual people....what could be more racist? Welfare robs its recipients from the full human experience...it's a disgrace.
Spoken like someone who's never read any of Dr. William's books. When did "troll" become an official job position? Is MSNBC that desperate to have their own O'Reilly?
@Rensune -- Walter E. Williams, Allen West, Clarence Thomas, Herman Cain,.....are "Uncle-Ruckuses" driven by self-loathing and have abandoned their own people, joined the enemy -- to "get ahead," by actively participating in denigrating their own race.
They have commited treason in joining "lynch" first Republicans bent on driving America back to the days when white reign was unchallenged & exclusive!
...and why would any black person in their right mind want to sub for hate-monger Limbaugh!

@politicalarticles Sounds like you didn;t want to lump in Dr. Thomas Sowell. Well until you've read either of the Doctor's works, your opinion is invalid. (Unless you've happened ot have taken one of their classes.)
@Rensune -- That little video snippet + several others, ....and subbing for Rush Limbaugh on radio is enough for me. Your good professor is is a punkified "house negro."
I don't know this guy. I make no attempts to listen to anything Rush and his people say about anything. They are only alarmist and haters of all that is the real American dream. You are absolutely correct about the numbers. That is why I was careful to say "poor people". I know well why this guy said black people instead of poor people in general. They always leave out all the rest (poor people of all colors) because it doesn't make their case for them and those that listen to their lies.
I love the "Ed" Show. Ed usually speaks with clarity and truth. This one is not as clear cut as Ed suggest. Welfare has been one of the biggest sticky rat traps for poor people in the US. Welfare as your last resort keeps you poor and one of the results of that is the weakening of the family unit. Have you ever seen a rat get stuck on one of those sticky glue traps? Put a few crumbs on it and watch what happens to the poor mouse. No matter what he does, he just can't get off.
@hoseaj He didn't say welfare was worse, he said welfare destroyed the black family, which slavery didn't do. But you go ahead and continue to believe whatever the men on the television screen tell you to believe.

@politicalarticles Many politicians have been on the daily show. Does that make them comedians? You are posing what is called a non sequitur.
Out of curiosity, have you listened to any of these "subs"?

@Rensune -- This black goon subs for hate-monger Limbaugh. To me that means he agrees with the bile Limbaugh spews from his stinking gut.
Your analogy is hopless!

@hoseaj -- I wonder what "Uncle" Williams thinks about whites on welfare. Numerically, there are more whites on welfare than blacks.
Do a search for -- "Welfare: A White Secret - Afro Articles" -- for more details.

@politicalarticles And have you seen the destroyed families amongst these people as well. He thinks it's a tragedy no matter who is on it.
Oh, and as for Ed's fallacious argument: if you are completely reliant upon the "government" (someone else's money) you are their property.
