  • Never knew about the rich history until I moved to the area and saw the tour buses. My daughter and I did a tour of the museum and it is very interesting and informative.

  • @michealwruch, by saying that you say that every time a new prophet comes along the church changes completely.

  • I believe you can be "mormon" and either LDS, CoC, and other Restoration Churches. Listen to the Mormon Matters & Mormon Stories Podcasts. Self-Identifying as "mormon" is more than one particular "church" but a way of living

  • @robbkcmo very true!

  • thanks for this vid clip, im originally from Lima, Ohio but was recently converted and baptized in the Jesus Christ Church of Latter Day Saints last year in New Zealand where I have lived for the past 5years, since becoming a member I am keen to visit this temple when get home one day.

  • The RLDS have done a great job in preserving our common heritage, making it available to LDS and other restoration churches, organizations, including those which have broken off from the RLDS. Their guides are well versed in how to intelligently talk to LDS members who according to the guide overwhelmingly are the majority visitors to the site.

  • @russelelane You know why most tourist there are Moromon? They think they own it and the leaders in Utah don't do anything to tell the members any different. The Utah Mormons never owned the Kirtland Temple.

  • Nice video brother - Thanks.

  • Michael, respectfully, that depends on your point of view. From our point of view they broke away from us. In fact other sects apart from the C of C and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will also say we, and they broke away from them. It's all a matter of which one is the true LDS church - we believe that is us.

  • I have been to, and inside of the temple. It is a beautiful place. The only issue I have with the video is the statement that you made about it being owned by a group that split off the LDS church. I am not a member of the C of C, but the LDS church moved to Utah under Brigham Young and changed doctrines. The RLDS church was the direct continuation of the original church. The LDS church was the break away church.

  • @michaelwruch . that is not necessarily true either. The LDS ADDED to their doctrine and removed what was necessary. The C of C has changed a lot including changing the wording of the Book of Mormon.

  • @AmphantomHMroc I agree with you that the C of C has changed a lot, that is why that group has gone into apostasy. The LDS church added doctrine that was in direct opposition to scripture. When the RLDS church was reformed by Joseph Smith III, it was in it's purest form at that time. When the C of C began to move away from original doctrine, a small group of people broke away and have continued to hold to the original doctrines of the church set forward at the start.

  • @michaelwruch So are you *Temple Lot* or *Deer Park*?

  • @AmphantomHMroc Community of Christ has NEVER changed anything within the Book Of Mormon. The Utah based Mormon church gets to deal with those claims. They change the text whenever it suits their needs.

  • @michaelwruch correct you are. The U.S. Supreme Court has even ruled on the subject. Utah Mormons are not the real ones.
