I have Compiz Fusion and I have checked the Animation Add-On on Effects, I have checked the Burn effect and NOTHING!!!... does anybody knows how to solve this?
you may have to go into the settings for both of those options, and setit up, some things have hotkeys by default. others need to be added to the specific windows you want it to be used on. look at the other pages of comments where i gave some tips on setting up some of the window effects. I also at the moment cant get compiz to work at all, due to some very awsome update from ubuntu.
Hey, I just wanted to compliment you on a clean desktop, good video (not too flashly like most compiz vids) and I really want to compliment on the fact that you're helping these people out.
Very nice!
P.S. I don't really like your minize or close effects, but hey, that's the freedom of choice, right?
first of all ty for the compliment =) and yeah i used the minimize and maximize effects for a few days and they got annoying after a bit. so i toned it down. its very possible to have to much of a good thing lol
i cant give you a specific card but ill tell you with an older card you will have to tone it down to simply use the computer. i use a 8800gt 1 gig pcie card, and noticed no effect on my everyday computer use with everything turned on.
Man that looks awesome. Can you please help a complete beginner here and tell me how I get it started for the first time? Maybe some tips or how the different things I see in these vids work?
unfortunately your question could cover a massive amount of material, im not sure what your question is. i will say that if you have compiz fusion and compiz installed, through your package manager, that you can type " ccsm " in a console and start jacking around with stuff to see what it does.
open a terminal and type ccsm. a configuration menu will open. then scroll down and look for the animations button.
open the animations button and you'll see some tabs that say open, close animation . you can then select new. when the window opens select your animation from the first box and then select the name of the window. there are several options for the windows but over doing it can be seriously annoying when trying to do everyday things with your computer.
once you type in what window you want to use the animation you selected in the drop down box hit close and then look in the text window, you should see your custom window animation at the bottom, you have to select it and move it to the top. you should be able to see the close animation now.
yes i forgot to tell you, right next to the animation option in the configure menu is the animations add-on, you'll have to enable that to get the fire effect. also i suggest using your package manager to search for compiz and get anything you dont have, the compiz fusion icon is handy so you dont have to use the terminal to open the settings window, also gives you a spot to easily get to emerald.
