to me it seems like the vahine in green does a pei pei and not a fa'arapu (ami)...they are almost identical, expect that when u do the pei pei, u project ur hips towards ur back, so ur bum will bounce more upwards...just me observing! She should bend more, feet closed both front and back, and try to make it bigger and fuller by not vibrating, but go all the way around! :D Btw loved the couple solo in the end:C
@Gille87 ~ yes, the look can vary because of many things... is the count on the pelvic release (to the back) or on the abdominal tuck (to the front)? are the knees bent enough to free the hips to move? do the hips move evenly around (this takes a lot of practice and muscle control) or do they have hitch? can they keep that control when they speed it up? And everyone's body is different and a lot can depend on natural ability. I haven't heard of pei pei before, I'll have to ask Nana... : )
@PalomarPolynesian hehe tanks for ur answer btw no intention of being rude! :) Pei Pei is a Tahitian words, and I've noticed how ur kumu only uses Hawai'ian words, so I guess that's why u haven't heard it before...I only use the Tahitian words when it comes to steps, since I don't do hula! But the thing w Tahitian as well is that the names differ depending on where in Tahiti:S Only thing that is similar is fa'arapu or ami as u say in Hawai'ian...
