@fettersfizz22 That means that you were not high enough for it to kill you. Not sure why, but it only kills people ABOVE a certain point. The point of death is about halfway up the hill. Just stand where we are standing in the video and it should kill you no problem. Also try piling vehicles in the middle too, the explosion will destroy all of them as well. It's pretty awesome. Hope this helps
@TheJacob865 well you can't put stuf like that on valhalla, so no. The only way to survive is to be below a certain point. So found. Valhalla, if you are below the half way point of the middle hill (just stand in the river) you will not be killed by the glitch.
@amoliski I tried it once in Reach, but it is REALLY hard to get the monitor to grab the weapon at the same time as the human. If we ever get it to work, I will be sure to post it on here. It's not looking so good though :(
And I have no clue why it works. When you fire the non-firing rocket it's almost like it stores that explosion on the map but never goes off. The next explosion sets it off. Once again, that is just a wild guess and have no clue why it does that.
@cbnftt2 For some reason this glitch makes the game really laggy (Especially after you set off the explosion). Did you get it to work though? Start a new match on Valhalla and try it again and tell me if you are able to get it to work.

@Halofultothemax Yeah, either weapon will work, but I find this method more awesome since you can use multiple weapons to set it off. My favorite being the missile pod being shot up into the air. :)
@hellkid94 Yes it does. Every time you fire the rocket launcher the glitch activates. So fire the rocket then throw a grenade (Stay in the river and you will live), then fire again and throw another grenade. It will keep doing it as long as you are alive and fire a rocket and THEN throw the grenade.
I got a bunch of people in on a Forge FFA mod, did the glitch and I LOL'D so hard when 2 kids did it when everyone else did nothing but fuck around on the map!

@Ninjalicious14 Are you following the directions to the letter? If not, then it wont work. You have to make sure that the connection host is in the right roll (monitor). If it still doesn't work I'll help you out when the Reach Beta is over. I am playing that non stop right now :)

@xdark0lordxx *sigh* That's how the glitch works. When the guy holding the rockets fires a shot (at 0:20 you see his waypoint turn yellow), nothing come out. This action activates the glitch. From then on, any explosion will cause the glitch to happen. And since the guy with the rocket is the one who activated the glitch in the first place, when the explosion goes off and kills everyone, it counts as his kill. Since we were on the same team, it counted as a betrayal.

@inuyasha989 First, Halo 3 has almost no glitches that people can exploit in multiplayer, and if they do, the game can detect them and they are almost immediately banned. Bungie spent their time testing the game to make it as glitch free as possible. You should read up on how extensively they tested it. There are a bunch of glitches in the game, but they kept the ones in the game that cannot be performed in matchmaking.... only custom games and forge (like this one)
Second, yes it is down to preference and yes I do play all of those other games (well the ones on the 360) I haven't played bioshock 2 yet though. I love bioshock, Modern warfare series, mass effect series, I love all those games, but Halo (in my opinion) beats them all. The replay value of the game is phenomenal with Forge, saved films, etc. Forge, you can make your own maps, and you can customize the games as well, making the game cater to how you want to play it. That is why i like it.

I just did this glitch and it works pretty well, I went back to theater mode to watch it closer and found out that as the arms come off a picture of an elites head appears for like a millisecond, right before the flash. thought it was pretty cool.
Well, it isn't an elites head, it is actually his hands. Right before his arms disappear, they basically explode in size. If you pause it at the right time, you can see that he has "Monkey hands" lol.
You have to be above a certain point for it to kill you. On Valhalla, that point is half way up the hill and above. If it still doesn't work, feel free to send me an invite... I'll help out.
This is what the comment was about. The person said that they tried it in local but it didn't work, but I looked back at the comments and I had tried it a LONG time ago and it did work. So yes, I think it does.
Have the person who is the monitor do the count down. Also test it a couple of times so that you can get the timing down. If you pick it up early, just have him drop a weapon, switch it out, and try again. All in all, you shouldn't have too much trouble with it. Just make sure you follow the instructions after that perfectly. If you do that, you should be in the clear.
Lol, thanks. Me and my friend found it completely by accident and were pretty surprised when he shot a rocket across the map and we both died. We then went back for the next hour or two trying to nail down how exactly we did it lol. It took a long time, but we finally were able to simplify it into the form seen in the video. It is really fun, especially when you tell everyone to get in banshees and hornets and fly around : )
lol i remember that, took some practice, "ok are we gonna do it on three or one, two, three, go?", "ok stop, you have to do it a little earlier then on three because there is a slight lag, do it on 2.5"

I might, now that I think of it though, remaking the video will cut back on the "this is fake" comments, but to be honest, the comments have steadily been decreasing. Most people are now seeing the number of views/rating and making up their minds. Some aren't though, but they are usually convinced when I point them at the rating. The fact that I don't delete comments either is also a plus

Okay thanks. You should try it, it's a fun glitch that can be used to annoy the hell out of your friends. I know for a fact that it works on Valhalla, but am not sure on the other maps. I have done it on Orbital as well. I also tried it on Sandbox and it was kind of iffy. It only worked if you were standing on a certain side of the map. So I would just recommend trying it on Valhalla. Just make sure you are standing above the half way point of the middle hill. Anything below that will survive.
You can, and that is where the hilarity ensues. If you get infinite ammo and grenades, you can shoot the rocket to activate the glitch and then throw a grenade to set it off. You will survive. As long as you are alive, you can keep firing the rockets and then throwing the grenade. Usually your teammates spawn in the bases, so they will usually die when you set it off.
What would you call it then? It definitely isn't an easter egg. And yes, since me and aqua found this glitch over a year ago, it has been out there for quite a while now. A lot of people know about it now. Funny that I still get comment like the one below telling me that it is fake. Lol, people have no sense sometimes; they should at least try it first.

That is what the glitch does! When you rip the persons arm off and he shoots the rocket, it activates the glitch. So whenever an explosion goes off (grenade, rocket, missile pod shot, etc) the glitch will trigger and kill everyone that is standing above a certain point on the map.
Look at the rating for proof, if people have tried this and it were fake, the rating would be low. I have not disabled ratings or the comments. This is because the glitch is real, try it! If you try it I will never find out. Yes I understand that the way I filmed it was sketchy. This is because I didn't want to edit a large video to put on here. Yes, the rocket is what activates the glitch. Once you shoot it (nothing should come out) the glitch is primed, and the next explosion will cause the glitch to occur. The fun thing is that you can put on infinite ammo and grenades and stand in the river, (You will not die if you stand here) and shoot the rocket and throw a grenade. When you shoot the glitch activates and the grenade will set it off. As long as you stay alive, you can keep doing it over and over and annoy your friends.
another way to do this is do the no-arm with a grav hammer, throw a grenade, and slam it down, i think it only works on stand-off, valhala, and sandtrap..

Bungie does not take away armor for you not playing for three days. Usually you get it taken away if you do something bad... which is much more likely. No one here can help you anyway. And if they can, they won't. ODST is too close.

When he fires though, nothing comes out. After he fires that rocket, the glitch is activated and any explosion will set it off.

Try the glitch. When the other person is in that state, he cannot shoot. When he pulls the trigger, nothing comes out. The firing animation happens on the persons screen, but no rocket comes out. SO basically in the time it took me to turn, he would have had to switch weapons, switch weapons again, and then run all the way over to me and shoot at the ground killing both of us. Please try it before posting comments saying that it is fake.

It must have something to do with an 'explosion size' or 'explosion strength' variable that gets modified somehow...

@inuyasha989 First, Halo 3 has almost no glitches that people can exploit in multiplayer, and if they do, the game can detect them and they are almost immediately banned. Bungie spent their time testing the game to make it as glitch free as possible. You should read up on how extensively they tested it. There are a bunch of glitches in the game, but they kept the ones in the game that cannot be performed in matchmaking.... only custom games and forge (like this one)

Second, yes it is down to preference and yes I do play all of those other games (well the ones on the 360) I haven't played bioshock 2 yet though. I love bioshock, Modern warfare series, mass effect series, I love all those games, but Halo (in my opinion) beats them all. The replay value of the game is phenomenal with Forge, saved films, etc. Forge, you can make your own maps, and you can customize the games as well, making the game cater to how you want to play it. That is why i like it.

But yeah, that is why I sent it to him, I thought that it would be a good tool for machinima, especially based on the fact that it not only kills people, but also destroys all vehicles above a certain point. Try filling the middle of the map with all vehicles and then doing the glitch... so awesome!!!

I just did this glitch and it works pretty well, I went back to theater mode to watch it closer and found out that as the arms come off a picture of an elites head appears for like a millisecond, right before the flash. thought it was pretty cool.

Well, it isn't an elites head, it is actually his hands. Right before his arms disappear, they basically explode in size. If you pause it at the right time, you can see that he has "Monkey hands" lol.

You have to be above a certain point for it to kill you. On Valhalla, that point is half way up the hill and above. If it still doesn't work, feel free to send me an invite... I'll help out.

Have the person who is the monitor do the count down. Also test it a couple of times so that you can get the timing down. If you pick it up early, just have him drop a weapon, switch it out, and try again. All in all, you shouldn't have too much trouble with it. Just make sure you follow the instructions after that perfectly. If you do that, you should be in the clear.

Lol, thanks. Me and my friend found it completely by accident and were pretty surprised when he shot a rocket across the map and we both died. We then went back for the next hour or two trying to nail down how exactly we did it lol. It took a long time, but we finally were able to simplify it into the form seen in the video. It is really fun, especially when you tell everyone to get in banshees and hornets and fly around : )

I might, now that I think of it though, remaking the video will cut back on the "this is fake" comments, but to be honest, the comments have steadily been decreasing. Most people are now seeing the number of views/rating and making up their minds. Some aren't though, but they are usually convinced when I point them at the rating. The fact that I don't delete comments either is also a plus

Okay thanks. You should try it, it's a fun glitch that can be used to annoy the hell out of your friends. I know for a fact that it works on Valhalla, but am not sure on the other maps. I have done it on Orbital as well. I also tried it on Sandbox and it was kind of iffy. It only worked if you were standing on a certain side of the map. So I would just recommend trying it on Valhalla. Just make sure you are standing above the half way point of the middle hill. Anything below that will survive.

You can, and that is where the hilarity ensues. If you get infinite ammo and grenades, you can shoot the rocket to activate the glitch and then throw a grenade to set it off. You will survive. As long as you are alive, you can keep firing the rockets and then throwing the grenade. Usually your teammates spawn in the bases, so they will usually die when you set it off.

That is what the glitch does! When you rip the persons arm off and he shoots the rocket, it activates the glitch. So whenever an explosion goes off (grenade, rocket, missile pod shot, etc) the glitch will trigger and kill everyone that is standing above a certain point on the map.

Look at the rating for proof, if people have tried this and it were fake, the rating would be low. I have not disabled ratings or the comments. This is because the glitch is real, try it! If you try it I will never find out. Yes I understand that the way I filmed it was sketchy. This is because I didn't want to edit a large video to put on here. I wanted to put it up as quick as possible before anyone else found it and took credit for it. So I just captured it and posted it. No editing needed.

Yes, the rocket is what activates the glitch. Once you shoot it (nothing should come out) the glitch is primed, and the next explosion will cause the glitch to occur. The fun thing is that you can put on infinite ammo and grenades and stand in the river, (You will not die if you stand here) and shoot the rocket and throw a grenade. When you shoot the glitch activates and the grenade will set it off. As long as you stay alive, you can keep doing it over and over and annoy your friends.

Not EVERWHERE, but almost everywhere. It kills people on the same parts of the map as this glitch. You have to be above a certain point (about halfway up the middle hill). So if you are below that point you will not be killed.

Well, the person who has the rocket is basically the person that activates the glitch. If you do the glitch and the person with the rocket doesn't fire, nothing will happen when an explosion goes off. It only activates the glitch when he fires the rocket. When he fires though, nothing comes out. After he fires that rocket, the glitch is activated and any explosion will set it off.

Try the glitch. When the other person is in that state, he cannot shoot. When he pulls the trigger, nothing comes out. The firing animation happens on the persons screen, but no rocket comes out. SO basically in the time it took me to turn, he would have had to switch weapons, switch weapons again, and then run all the way over to me and shoot at the ground killing both of us. Please try it before posting comments saying that it is fake.
