My cat was an outside cat, and he lived until he was 18.5... I don't believe that inside cats live twice as long as outside cats, thanks very much!

@propertyofranger i agree.... my cat is 13 write now and she is an outside/ inside cat (but mostly outside, she only comes inside to leave mice on the floor! haha) and she is still going strong! :)

@wakafreako But still, some people who live in small spaces such as lofts, apartments, and group homes don't have access to open spaces such as backyards. If you let a kitten out it maybe overwhelmed by such a vast space and sounds such as cars, other people, buses and much more causing them to panic. An old forgetful cat may take one wrong turn and forget how to get home. Yes anything outside can be accessed indoors and even without outside play a cat can be happy AND safe.

@xXAssassin786Xx If your cat is looking depressed and making very little sounds, i would suggest getting it checked by a vet. But if it is loud and playful, he probably just doesn't like the food you're giving him. My cat doesn't like dry food or canned food, so i have to mix up the dry and canned for him to eat it. All cats have different tastes.

hi , i need ur advice tomorow i will be getting a cat its not going to be a kitten its gonna be a cat and my mum agrees it should go outside so should she be let outside when shes already had her vaccinations and neuturing please right back asap if can your fab i just need to know what you think i am going to look it up on the web right now because i know ur probeerly really busy so bye :)))))))))

Never restrict a kitten from going outside. Yea she might live a little less longer but atleast it will be a happy cat. Its cruel to keep them from the environment they were created for. Outside time will just have to be supervised for the first 2 months or so. It will miss out no so many great things that cats love. My friend has never let her cat out and he is 3 years old. I hate her for it!

hey i just got a kitten like an hour ago, shes seems like shes happy :) she ate her food and water the minute i put it there, she is so excited and she loves to explore the house, she doesnt mind me petting her. isnt this a good start :)

Indoor cat: Never gets to touch the soft grass, never gets to play and hunt for birds and insects. Never gets to sleep under a tree all day long. But hey! They live longer;) Good for you!!
