  • bullshit. that is a .22 or possibly a .117 caliber PELLET being shot at that armor. You can tell by the shape of the projectile and the slow velocity.

  • who would dislike this video?

  • sick as fuuuckkk

  • in the groin?! jeeses give that man a bloody medal.

  • aw he got shot in the dick!

  • Blank man shit comes to life! Woot!

  • wow... this came out 5 years ago and we still have shitty armor

  • @cheeriomartinez no general has stock in this company or product...

  • @vampire847 touche well played good sir. =D.

  • "I don't remember leaving the base and feeling 100% safe". Fucking hilarious!

  • Whatever happened with this? Was never implemented

  • So this is a super version of cornstarch and water?

  • @xBrian6 That was my first thought. lol High science indeed! :P

  • After the liquid armor hardens after it's shot, how long does it take for it to return to it's normal, flexable state. Also, if it remains hard for a while, will the hardened liquid armor be able to stop a 2nd bullet to the same area?

  • so if someone shouts your armours gay it will stiffen up?

  • Uploaded june 19, 2006? OMG I DEPLOYED TO IRAQ IN 2010 AND GUESS WHAT?!?!?! ...... we still use f*cking ceramic plates and normal kevlar. Go figure.

  • WHAT HAPPENED TO STICKS AND ROCK WARS?

  • I hope The Taliban uses pellets in their fights

  • what if wearing an cloth that has a three-layer structure comprising: an air side surface layer; the sheet-like liquid layer; and a human body side surface layer?

  • Is it me or does it look like packeted cheese O_O

  • Ah - the joys of non-newtonian liquids... layers of custard would do the same thing :)

  • chuck norris's sperm

  • @drako131 now that's funny - total gym

  • thats not a bullet its a pellet yes still can kill but does not do as much damage as a bullet

  • I'll stick with dragon skin armor. It stops grenades and bullets.

  • Glad they spend our money on this instead of curing diseases.

  • @AustralianAllTheWay actually the US has cured many diseases and has helped rid the world of Smallpox and other diseases...your welcome asshole

  • @009tesla And created the aids virus, sars and bird flu.

  • @009tesla Name 3.

  • now they just need their invisible cloak !

  • hmm, with all these "bullet-proof armor" videos from years ago, where are they today? Did they not work or are they just not using the technology?

  • hmm, with all these "bullet-proof armor" videos from years ago, where are they today? Did they not work or are they just not using the technology?

  • where do i buy me some of this armor?

  • In... The.... GROIN!!

  • I wonder if this will be available to the public.

  • Ok it is 5 years after this video. Has the shit been introduced in the theatre yet?

  • So this was posted in 2006 and we are now 2011. So I have to ask why is it still not on the front line?

  • Were can I get a street vest like that?

  • Spiros?? Hey that's my name! We greeks are all over the place! :P haha

  • Corn starch and water? :D

  • thats not a bullet..... its a pellet from a pellet gun...... 0:54

  • Dragonskin sprayed with Liquid Kevlar, with Impact Gel padding.

This stuff is real-life Compound 18!

  • ok, so you can cover my legs and arms with this, but its not gonna stop the bullet from breaking my bones.... just sayin

  • @richyrich589

i would rather have a broken arm than a gunshot would.

  • 1. Slather clothes with cornstarch paste

    2. ???

    3. Profit!

  • Its a liquid form of what is already used to protect troops. Kevlar and ceramic materials.

  • I like the history of Wars, And since history repeats itself. You cannot stop it.

  • we need to take over our government america and the rest of the world are all stupid as fuck we need to stop worrying about fighting with eachother and start worrieing about all of humanity as 1 i am not saying anything about world government i am just saying FUCK YOU to all governments SUCK A DICK just think of what humanity could do if we all worked together to defend our planet not our countries and what we could invent if America would wake the fuck up and invade area 51

  • @SketchyFresh312 thats nice bro. thats never gonna happen. Because weather you beleive it or not, no matter how peaceful you become or seem to become, they're will always be a sick fuck that wants to kill you. They're will always be a extremist who will want to blow your family to fucking shreds because they want to send a message. They're will always be people who will torch the world, not for $ or a purpose but rather to watch it burn. BTW nobody needs to invade area 51 They KNOW whats there

  • @SketchyFresh312 Dude, if America did that, it would make everything worse. Idiot...

  • next thing u know they use cotton candy for body armour................

  • @matthewjamal Ron Paul wants to bring everyone home and lower America's presence in the rest of the world down to as minimal as possible.

He also happens to be immune to bribes. How do I know this? Because the major media outlets have almost completely ignored him, and who do you think owns the major media companies? /watch?v=kcBAvLLrBOA

  • @Onihikage There was a segment about that on the daily show actually, the news media were barely even accepting the existence of Ron Paul let alone ignoring him.

I seriously hope you guys in America vote for him so he at least gets on even with the major candidates, those assholes deserve a good kick up the arse.

  • Im confused as to how i got to this video....

  • @jaffaz007 me too I somehow got here from typing in,"Liquid Bullet-Proof Armour" :P

  • @Tyco2000 By any measure the USA healthcare system is more expensive than other leading nations and provides less. Here in the UK nobody worries about getting healthcare. Can you imagine that? No worry about medical bills, ever. Also, the US military is way, way better then China's. Stop spending money on the military and wars. If you'd kept your noses out of other peoples countries, you'd find nobody would be wanting to attack America. Read information outside of right wing articles.

  • yes sir we must end the wars, bring the troops home, then start investigating the real reason technology like this as well as dragon skin was never implemented into our military.

  • @kahuna2509 i think it´s beacause you need dead soldiers to make heroes, and heroes to make another war.

  • @guigs219 STATUE MAN!!! :D

  • Butters! You dont shoot a man in the balls! Is not cool!

  • shot in the balls why why!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh my goooooood!!!..i got hit in the balls with the basketball and got dizzy and fell to the floor i even had brown outs and i felt like i was going to throw up..but being shot donw there my fucking god!!!

  • Billions should be spent on this, not social security and obamacare.......so basically it's a non-newtonian fluid?? If it is, great implementation....

  • @MusicoConfundido

People pay for social security. Like it or not, , it comes out of my paycheck. It's not the government's money to spend on what it wants. Nothing belongs to the government. The people in government are nothing more than glorified janitors.

  • @ThePatriotMuckraker I completely agree. I never said anything to the contrary. I was merely implying that if they already ARE going to take our money, then they should not blow it on hopeless pursuits. Ibstead, they should protect the lives of the people who risk their lives for our country and our freedom, that way when they get back from kicking some major ass, the economy is not in shambles because of failed policies. The fed needs to get their noses out of the private sector...yesterday!

  • @ThePatriotMuckraker I completely agree. I never said anything to the contrary. I was merely implying that if they already ARE going to take our money, then they should not blow it on hopeless pursuits. Instead, they should protect the lives of the people who risk their own for our country and our freedom, that way when they get back from kicking some major ass, the economy is not in shambles because of failed policies. The fed needs to get their noses out of the private sector...yesterday!

  • dragon skin armores better

  • @starwalker97 Yeah, but you can't wear it around your arms, legs and groin. You wouldn't be able to move.

  • @starwalker97 >born in 1997

    >implying you can get military armor

    >costs around $5000 damn dollars

    >goodluck kid

  • It's good to fill the gaps between armor plates.

  • wow, this is a god armor type, but bullets can still do damage to the body without penetrating the skin. one shot to the head and you're kncked out and it'll take some time to recover. it's best used as a addition to the normal equipment.

  • The problem I always see in all these body armour videos is the shock the wearer would feel when the round magically "bounces" off...

Even with thick ceramic plates, round still do a fair amount of damage (bruising and such.)

Think what would happen with a "Bullet-Proof Armour" the thickness of cloth?

  • Sure.... Why dont they make a nanosuit right away.

  • This, "Liquid Armor", is composed of polyethylene glycol and silica(glass) particles. The only drawback is, polyethylene glycol is water soluble so, if you sweat excessively or if it rains while you're wearing this, "Liquid Armor treated material", is weakens substantially. Also, if you wash the treated material is loses its strength. The regular ballistics armor material has to be repeatedly treated with the, "liquid armor". Unless the engineers create a hydrophobic version of liquid armor

  • @GTMustangRider I would assume that they have thought that through and contained the solution within a watertight vessel.

  • @GTMustangRider or they can just seal it with thick vinyl or something similar? :P A much easier option.

  • Looks like cum.

  • What if you take a knee and it stiffens up? Does it become flexible again?

  • @paco1851 yes it does become flexible again, it only locks up when it take a blunt or sharp high speed impact so unless you slam down on your knee you will be fine, also it starts to soften as soon as the impact is gone so it would not matter any way. I worked with some of this when I was in the army it was being tested at the time for use in a hot climate to see the effects.

  • @Ilovewinter Oh, okay. Thanks :)

  • @paco1851 seems though they are having a problem with humidity so it may be some time before they start using it in the Military. I am hopeful that this stuff will be out soon, and have the problem fixed :D

  • @Ilovewinter Yeah it seems like it could make a big difference for the troops, because the IBA with plates in it, is pretty heavy as it is then with all the gear, every pound less helps.

  • Now see, in about 1 year the Russians and Chinese are going too have body aromor made of oxygen that will stop an airstrike.

  • Sounds like a non-Newtonian fluid.

  • As cool as a bullet proof t shirt would be, this would still hurt like a bitch. The bullet might not pierce, but it will be hitting you...

  • @Scipiothegreat choose between broken bones and a bullet wound?

  • @Scipiothegreat Add thin ceramic plates in the armor?

  • @paco1851 Wouldn't make much of a difference. The ceramic plates would shatter, and it would be like getting shot with a heavy duty pellet gun. But hey, it saves lives, why not go for it.

  • @Scipiothegreat Well i'd rather get hit by something with the force of a pellet gun than with something with the force of a sledge hammer :p

  • @paco1851 Agreed

  • why kevlar? stop war = 100% saved lives...

  • @TheBezzi Good luck with thatt.... its almost impossible :/

  • @TheBezzi hell yeah

  • at 38 it look like the stuff that comes out of my cats butt when its in heat XD

  • it was a pellet .17. that is the same as a .17 riffle. a 5.56 is the same as a .22 just more power. it is a good start though. good eye for catching that. i had to rewind

  • did anyone else notice they were testing it with a pellet gun at 0:56 you can see the pellet

  • @aatomicbomb69 it was a pellet .17. that is the same as a .17 riffle. a 5.56 is the same as a .22 just more power. it is a good start though. good eye for catching that. i had to rewind. pellets are a very long way from high power rifles

  • this is amazing, but just look at the date it was uploaded. this is 5 years ago and I havent heard of any field tests going on. in my mind this stuff should be standard issue by now, but great things take time i guess. But i think that the way this absorbes a bullet, it still might break a bone in your leg if your hit there while wearing this. But at least thats better than having an AK round go through your tibia.

  • @Patchu101

Exactly, the bullet wont go trough, but the huge impact will still hit you with full energy, this is to be used OVER a real stiff material that is at the same time on top a soft material, making it a 3 layer effective bullet resistant armor.

Ever heard of D3O ? look it up, that is already being used under Kevlar in the UK military to soften bullet impact hits, but it wont stop bullets alone, thats why you havnt heard of any of these being used alone because they dont work that way

  • That's freaking cool

  • what about a flamethrower? whatchya gonna do about that?

  • @Driftinginspace i see your common misconception after WW2 flamethrowers were banned as being a unfair and cruel, this is because the solders were sometimes un recognizable making the Germans very angry. soon after both countries decided it would not be used on the battlefield again

  • @GameMessenger oh allrightio ^_^ it's to bad war does happen for such things, protection is needed but attacking is defenitely not and if attacking is not part of the agenda then defending no longer needed, harmony would be fulfilled, yet, why is it that defending has now becoming just the opposition attacking? why is it that defending has become a reflection and why must this all start? that's something that can be explained in all way but i'm just side tracking now... sorry...

  • Hi. What a new thing. Please share with me where to puchase this material for test. If it is that good, we will incorporate it into our product to bring more value as well. james@1-armour.com.

  • @matthewjamal Impossible.

  • @RyanR495 why?

  • @skizzerbo Over the thousands of years of human life on earth, war has been constant. Not every leader wants peace. Trust me.

  • @RyanR495 why should I trust you. Why?

  • @skizzerbo Ever taken a history class? Ever been interested on how human life has progressed over time? Coming from someone with a history major and a minor in international affairs. Not to brag, I am just answering your "Why?"

  • @RyanR495 hahaha good for you!

  • @skizzerbo Quit trolling, go back to school.

  • @matthewjamal hey your right lets just let the people who want to kill us kill us we shouldnt retaliate you are the weakest link. you have to fight to survive you fool.

  • @matthewjamal The comment has 27 thumbs up for being removed it needs more.

  • shot in the groin T.T poor sergeant

  • HE SHOT HIM IN THE DICK, NOT COOL BUTTERS

  • was this the precursor to d30?

  • i want to know how this guy is keeping a non-newtonian fluid from just flowing off of the kevlar? also it looked like they just shot 1 layer of kevlar with a pelet gun not an actual rifle round. while i do get the concept, it would be nice to see a full size prototype.

  • Even if you got shot with this and it stopped the bullet your looking at significant trama... Internal organ damage broken bones... But if they combined this with lighter plates to help distribute the impact force it might work better

  • @knightwalkr Even people shot using ceramic/kevlar plates experience significant trauma. I've seen the massive bruising left behind a gunshot impact on a "bulletproof" vest. It's not pretty.

  • I need to protect my fish, can this sustain aquatic life?

  • Have you guys heard of the dragon skin bullet proof vest? it was on future weapons and it took a grenade exploding right beneath it.

  • @NOTguineapigeon you'd be protected from shrapnel, but not the pressure wave or the g's from being blasted upward at high speed.

  • @drewnickel I'd rather have the g's than the shrapnel, and on the show the dummy didn't fly up in the air he jumped.

  • @NOTguineapigeon the shrapnel is survivable, unless it hits vitals, the pressure wave will kill you no matter what, going from 14.5psi to 100psi in an instant is going to crush your body and rupture organs, and the g-force will make blood leak into your lungs.if you're right by a grenade when it goes off your screwed, the difference is they'd be able to bring a body home, instead of just parts and pieces of one.

  • Ah, thixotropic armour!

  • Going to war means you will not be 100% safe - not everyone will make it back home.

  • @Model1898 this is why you send something like me to the front-line. This type of thing is going into my synthetic dermis and even if it gets through my skin my bones will be heavily reinforced (aggregated nano-diamond scaffolds). Plus its really hard to kill something that isn't alive ^_^ I'm just the prototype design spec. My siblings could hypothetically decimate any third world army solo ;D

  • This is what our tax money is better spent on than corporate bailouts and some bullshit reseachers that don't even produce anything. These guys delivered.

  • Should put that liquid in full proof panties. lol

  • What about a dick shot?

  • @G1721jeff not a snow ball's chance in hell it would hurt like a bitch

  • @isupportguns - Nah, just wear a proper heavy bullet proof jacket. lolz. Fuck the extra weight. No bullet holes, no bruises.

  • bring a 30-06 to that vest BHAHA LOL, that was a little pellet gun lol

  • so 7 years later

    where is this application ?

  • Alright enough with the Chuck Norris jokes, it's getting old after 2 years..

  • should try it with custard paste :P

  • Fuck that shit. If you get hit by a bullet when you're wearing that, man it's gonna bruise you fucking hard.

  • @dougymoo Hey, its better than the alternative.

  • if theres anything we should be spending money on, its this. not a fucking bailout

  • @hillbilly2684

Oh, you mean for that war you've essentially already won? There's no reason to invest in any new body armour tech.

  • @HypaSonicDeathMonkey well there will always be another war

  • @midgetmarine2

Well, I don't like the way France has been looking at me recently.

  • @hillbilly2684 but if you dont America could go bankrupt....

  • @hillbilly2684

um no..how about we dont go to war AT ALL and spend the money on schools and decent health care for everybody instead.

  • @Makaveli25x Um, no. How about we get Obama and the Socialist Pigs like you out of power, then begin making taxes smaller so private business can survive, help the middle class, spend on a military that is inferior to China's, get out of NATO, South Korea, Europe, etc. and start spending just for our national defence, and tax welfare hogs like you?

  • @Makaveli25x "Better healthcare for everybody." Yea, Obama care the unconstitutional system. Where's the public option, by the way? Does government have the money to spend on healthcare, welfare, etc.? I'd say we get our asses out of Iraq, leave 20-50,000 men behind in Afghanistan to keep nuclear warheads from ending up as suitcase bombs for the Taliban, and simply spend on national defence rather than defence abroad. And besides, this armour would do well for national defence VS 1970s cevlar.

  • @Makaveli25x agreed but I don't see how that's happening any time soon, as long as man has need, we have greed and it all leads to war... chimpanzee's are proven to be able to fight their own "war"

  • @Makaveli25x We will always have war because if one of our allys go to war we help them and if we need to go to war to protect people we will.

  • @Makaveli25x I agree with you on the schools, but no thanks to government run health care. If you want that, move to France. This country is socialized enough as it is.

  • @Makaveli25x your a democrat !! yes it sounds good but when you grow up a little you will see how dumb it is,,,schools yes but obama care NO !! we are AMERICANS that should be able to make their own decisions,,not be made to have health care we already have medicaid for people that cant pay for health care,,,,AMERICA and your freedom came from war and it will ALWAYS take war to keep it !! democrats kill over 1.3 million unborn babys a year but we cant have war ? or dogs be treated like dogs !!!!

  • @TheSleepermgm well if u think about it, we are forced to have car insurance...so y not health insurance? and i dont the death of 1.3million babies per year are the democrats fault

  • @stacster The democrats are the ones that back deaths of all the dead unborn children and we should have a choice as to what health insurance if any we would like ,,,, we should go back to the way the for fathers ran America so we can ALL be free again,,,,the democrats are the ones that dont let are children play dodgeball in school " because some one could get hurt " and " make sure ALL the children get a trophy " ,,,,this country is going to crap and we are all in trouble !!

  • @TheSleepermgm honestly the death of unborn children isnt that bad...abortion is great for all the people that arnt ready for children...better than throwing the babies in the streets to die they dont have to suffer with parents that dont want them.....and and if car insurance is required y wouldnt health insurance be require?

  • @stacster if this is what you think is not that bad then move to china....china is a great place for democrats,,,,a unborn baby is a baby and millions of people would be glad to take your unborn baby off your hands,,,," arnt ready for cildren " ???? then NO NOT HAVE SEX .....i can think of millions of people that should die way b4 a baby that has done nothing yet....if you are not MAN or WOMAN enough to take care of a child then you are not MAN OR WOMAN enough to be having sex......

  • @Makaveli25x democrats treat dogs like kids and kids like dogs !!!! but no guns or war !

  • @Makaveli25x My word.... How about we spend LESS MONEY ON SCHOOLS AND HEALTH CARE AND JUST NOT HAVE A DEBT?

  • @Makaveli25x

Oh yeah douchefag? The fuck we gonna do if Aliens attack?

  • People killing people is stupid. However, let's lose all the tactical locations we have already achieved in and much needed bases we have constructed during our current operations in the Middle East. Terrorism will always exist, but so much has been done already to quell it, helping keep all our nations safe from the threat of extremists.

  • @Makaveli25x Because the schools have definitely been successful so far. we currently spend around $30-50 bill on schools, and don't even try to say money is the problem. During the 1700's, there was almost no money invested in public schooling and kids still went to college at around 14 years old. FOURTEEN FREAKIN' YEARS.

It's not the money, it's the teacher's desire to teach and the student's desire to learn. We need to worry about influencing kids to want to learn instead of spending money.

  • @legotheanimated We still don't spend enough money on education. All sorts of people are having trouble paying for their education, and we have some of the worst schools in the developed world.

We spend $700 billion on "defense." Where exactly has that gotten us? Bogged down in the Middle East in pointless wars? We're one of the most hated countries on the planet, and for good reason. We're woefully undereducated and overly aggressive.

  • @JustinHampel I half agree with you, and maybe if I wasn't so overly patriotic I would agree with you more. *still mad about 9/11*

  • @legotheanimated Fund NASA to get us off this rock. That'll keep people dreamin' aye?

  • @Makaveli25x shutup

  • @hillbilly2684 Exactly. Then again, we're now in the nation of Socialist-Pigs who do nothing but hail their stashes of pornography/hence need government for every fucking thing in their lives. America the Great no longer (and most likely will never be) great.

  • @hillbilly2684 how about neither.

  • ouch getting shot in the nuts 0:12

  • is madeof ethylene glycol?

  • @misuradu It's a mixture of PEG and silicon nanobeads. There are variable outcomes from attempts to replicate the results in other institutions, so that may be why it is not in the field yet.

  • non-newtonian fluids. He treated fumed silica gel (nano-sized particles) with ethylene glycol. nothing fancy.

  • @cazanova66613 like wearable custard.. :D

  • For a country with no money, we sure as hell seem to be going farther into debt at a rapid pace, never ceasing to stop spending regardless of the state of our economy.

  • @tcb5366 So?

  • @ERTLPFM I don't remember where I was going with this, don't worry about it. It wasn't intended to be a drawn out debate. I said what was in my head at that instance in time. That's all there is to it.

  • @tcb5366 but the u.s. does have money the governments even one the highest in the g8 and g20. i think u just mean everyone thats middleclass but wants more so he gets loans which then fuks up the economy
