Why should they be distressed? They are spoiled horses, rich too, hahaha at least the owners are hehe. They get this all the time that is normal, people do not scare horses(most of the time)
I've seen the 'real' home, I can only dream of ever having that nice of set up. They are treated like kings. Keep drinking Bud to keep these horses living like they do. From the W... There are six "hitches" or teams of horses, five that travel around the United States and one that remains in their official home at the company headquarters at the Anheuser-Busch brewery complex in St. Louis, Missouri, where they are housed in a historic brick and stained-glass stable built in 1885. T
For the people complaining...if you are against the size of the horses' TRAVEL stalls, then you should also be against the riding of all horses, because technically riding them is completely inhumane as well. Forcing yourself upon them, tightly strapping a saddle on their back, putting bits in their mouths (then pulling on it even more), forcing them to go where you want, whipping or spurring them. All of these events would be considered "enslavement" if it was done to humans.
@stormywild, they aren't in the pens for long and they are probebly the most royalty treated horses alive. they are not put in their to excercise, they are put in they're practically to just chill out. look how relaxed they are, dillons even nearly asleep ?
after watching that That is even too small for a horse that size!! perfect size for tiger or a pony!! but 18hh-19hh there not enough exercise room to even turn round! I owen a 19hh horse and thats just so tiny! i accutually have horse lorry for travel not stupid pens!
It's pretty funny that anybody would suggest that these beauties are distressed. I am a rescuer of larger breed horses. Have you ever seen a distressed horse? Rudy and Dillon here are not distressed. Have you been to Anheuser Busch? Grants Farm? Clydesdale stables? These horses have THE BEST facilities in the world. That little "A" on the stalls they are in? That means royalty for these horses. Rudy has his head down, bottom lip out and back leg is relaxed/bent, Dillon? Sleeping, sweet dreams!
These horses are treated like royalty. I wish you all would get your facts straight before you go running you rmouth. I know for a FACT how well they are treated. The travel stalls are larger than your average 12x12 travel stall. And like I said, these horses are treated like royalty. SO PLEASE watch what you say. Okay?
First: You're not an English teacher, however I am not English I am Spanish so my spelling mistakes are mine and besides scare when correcting someone it is because there are no arguments to defend an argument
Second:
True, in some stalls are very small, and it seems very cruel. A circus horses the only time for them to stretch their legs possibly before the show. I think the horses should be before and AFTER the show on large sites that do not cage them crappy legs atrophied.
I have been around horses for 12 years. It seems like they have lots of clean bedding, they are well groomed, and look pretty relaxed. Can we just drop this argument?
look, ive viseted those horses, and they seem happy and comfortable. some horses loke having all that atention of people. i dont think they look like their suffering one bit. the one laying down looked comfy
To everyone that is saying the space is too small. Yes it is a bit on the smaller side. But I doubt that they were in there for more than a couple of hours. Also, have you guys seen the size of some stalls that a lot of horses have? They're not much bigger than that.
What are they doing? Horse are NOT stay in a small cage. They are stay in a big bos and the animals and horses aren´t things. The humans are stupit and delayed.
you really don't know much about it do you, the horses are only in there for a couple hours. They are relaxed, ones even sleeping. I've seen horses in way smaller stalls, which IS bad. However, it's only temperary, NOT cruel. They were probably allowed to stretch their legs after.
And stupid is not spelled stupit
It's wrong for you to insult your own kind when it's a nice and very clean stall the horses are in. They are in no harm.

dont call me a moron.....
dont you think some of them would rather be somwhere else? i mean they could be happy but they could also be happier somwhere else. look how crowded they are ... and thank you very much... i know a lot about horses and i ride many times a week ... with diffucult horses/ponies. So SUCK IT UP......YOUR THE ONE WHO KNOWS NOTHING....MORON!!!!
Dudes, the horses do NOT have enough room in there...they can barely move around!!! I feel so bad!! no wonder they look so distressed. They don't have any room!!!:( BE NICE TO THE POOR HORSIES!!:(
minnemickey123456789 : your a MORON! The budweiser clydes are some of the most well taken care of animals on the planet! Draft horses, are big. and because their big they dont tend to move much. It requires a lot of energy to run around like an arabian would. these horses are not DISSTRESSE! The one is laying down, thats a sign that hes super content.
I could go on! SO ALL OF YOU GOING 'POOR HORSY' STOP BEING FUCKIN MORONS AND LEARN SOMTHIN ABOUT A SUBJECT BEFORE YOU MAKE NEGATIVE REMARKS!
Okay for all those that were/are bitching. These are travel stalls. Quit getting so uptight. Chances are these horses live better than you do. If you want to bitch, then complain about traveling circus animals, they're kept in those tiny cages for the greater portion of the twenty-four hour day span. I have worked with horses in the zoo scene, I can truthfully tell you that the horses are treated WAY better than the employee's. When you travel do you bring your dog house, or a travel kennel?
@MelodiousNocturne02 I agree with you, the one thing im not happy about though is a horse shouldent be laying down like that, it stops blood flow in its veins,
@TurtelDog The horse is just resting. Horses are perfectly capable of laying down, that is how they get their REM sleep. They only doze or 'cat-nap' standing. If a horse is laying down like this or on its side (Which is also a normal position) for more than 2 hours at a time then its time to start worrying :)
@MelodiousNocturne02 Right on. They used to keep the Clydsdales in standing stalls. My only concern is the barns being that low but I guess with them looking like they're aluminum they probably pop out reasonable easy.
Ugh if you people knew anything about horses you'd know that the "cage" that they're in isnt much smaller than the standard size stall. IN FACT when my horse goes to away horse shows I'm pretty sure his tent stall is SMALLER than that. And that isn't how they LIVE. How come we don't feel bad for people who are cooped up in an office all day...doing their JOB....just like these horses. GHESGHEURGEG Go complain to Peta if you have such a problem *rolls eyes*
And the fact that this size of stall is standard makes it any less cruel?
Your reasoning makes absolutely no sense. A lot of common, widely accepted things that go on in the horse world are cruel. The fact that so many people participate in such methods has no bearing on how cruel it is/isn't.
I'm pretty sure you know NOTHING about the equine industry. My horse works 10 times as hard as those perfectly content budweiser horses and hes very happy. Just like any other animal, if they were unhappy they'd let you know. And like I stated before...we don't think its cruel for PEOPLE to have jobs...so why is it so horrible for animals to serve a purpose? But I'm sure you've never had a pet in your life...because keeping pets is also cruel...right?
Firstly, do NOT assume anything about me. Yes, I've had pets(Cats, to sheep, to a magpie, to ducks and chickens, all sorts), and yes, I know quite a bit about the equine industry. I make it my business to know.
The difference between a human working, and an animal working for us? Choice. We don't give the animal a choice. It's forced. Of course they'll let you know. Humans, in general, are too pigheaded to listen.
It's not cruel to have pets. It's the way you treat them.
To ask a horse to work for you is fine in itself. But the way you /make/ them do what you want, may very well be cruel. May I ask, do you know the science of how the bit works? Can you recognise the stress signs in horses after a working period of only 20 minutes?
I've taken equine science courses kthnx. And if you think keeping a pet isn't the same you're being ignorant. Your house is as about as natural environment to your cats as that stall is to those budweiser horses.
Keeping a pet is the same as 'what'? A job? How is that the same thing? Having an animal companion, and working? I'm not being 'ignorant', you're just not making any sense. My animals have free range of both the house, and backyard. Roughly 20x14 metres of space for a small animal is a significantly different than less than a few square metres for such a large one.
And these courses. I gather you know, then, that the bit lies over the trigimenal nerve. With no submucosal layer, it's affected almost directly. The typical, 'light' hand applies from 100-140kg's of pressure per square centimetre.
How else would you get the control? I can't expect a sporting rider to spend years on the ground working via trust with the horse. Not enough patience for that.
I can't expect someone who doesn't ride to understand a relationship a rider builds with their horse...but anyways...fyi these horses dont LIVE where they are videotaped above...it's like putting a dog in a crate to take them somewhere...these horses get nice beautiful pastures...and have you seen the trailer they ride in? Yeah its nicer than my car. But whatever...go team up with Peta, they'd love you.
And, uh, when did I ever say I didn't ride? Taking an animal somewhere is one thing, but keeping them in a stall that small for a few hours for human enjoyment?
I can't stand PETA. I speak in facts, PETA has a tendency to lie, and you've obviously made a habit of insulting people with a different view.
I can certainly say I understand real equine relationships on a higher level than you, dear.
yeah, i agree with zalabackp. I've never been to see their accomodations, but I heard they are treated like royalty. And it's no wonder, since they are such beautiful horses.
They aren't penned penned up for very long. Believe me, these Clydesdale's live in the lap of luxury. I have visited where some of them are housed in Bush Gardens, Tampa Bay. I've also seen the "team" perform live, you should see their horse trailer, personal attendants!! Have no doubt, they were not in those tiny pens for more than a short period of time.
Why should they be distressed? They are spoiled horses, rich too, hahaha at least the owners are hehe. They get this all the time that is normal, people do not scare horses(most of the time)
