@AIC2374 after that atrocity he calls foo fighters, i can't stand grohl any longer. the thing i liked about him in nirvana though was that he was a rock-solid player. see his performance of territorial pissings on live from mtv studios from 1992. i saw that when it origianlly aired and still have the vhs. as far as kinney goes, i always liked how he did so much with so little. if you watch him play on 1991's clash of the titans tour you'll see what i mean.
Well, only the chorus in TB is in 4/4, the rest of the song is in 7/8. But IMO it doesn't make sense to judge the quality of a drummer by the time signature he's playing. You can be as clever or as fast as you like but a good musician (drummer, guitarist, whoever) has to have a good feel and sound. As Robert Fripp said: any fool can play something difficult. Kinney comes up with some brilliant parts. Just listen to No Excuses. Not terribly difficult perhaps but simply wonderful.
I've always loved AIC but recently I've gotten on a serious kick. All their live performances are incredible! Most bands on the radio today can't play live to save their life.
Man this is just so fuckin awesome, no other singer can emulate or replace Layne, NO ONE! Just compare this with the rest of the posers. Damn I miss Layne.

@nashnwo1234 I have. They played in Nashville this spring. He may not be as good as the original, but they still put on an awesome show that goes down as my favorite concert so far. (I'm only 18, so I'm sure some other band will claim that title soon enough) I think being younger than a lot of AIC fans makes me less picky cause I'm not comparing them to how they used to be. Same thing with Drowning Pool.

How is Alice in chains greater than Led Zeppelin or Black Sabbath? Jerry Cantrell got a lot of influence from both Zeppelin, and Sabbath, so it would be idiotic to consider AIC better than both those sensational bands.

@Regset. Black Sabbath has a influence with Zeppelin, but Black Sabbath was the first heavy rock band, so if you listen to all the bands in the 80's and 90's there's a big influence of Sabbath in those bands.

yeah thats cause ray bans are made in italy....all ray bans not just baloramas...i looked on ebay and some used ones cost like 60 bucks or so and on occasion you can find em listed at a decent price...but brand new...yeah pricy lol

The greatest band ever, yet underrated. They are greater than Led Zep, Black Sabbath, everything. Poor Layne, if he still was around, the band would be the most appreciated one and everything would be different. Only the Jerry + Layne thing worked.

@hurtreliefhurt i'm a big,big, BiGGGG AiC's fan. But, in my opinion, u cant compare em' to the Sab',or Zeppelin... That's not the same periode, the same rock thing... Anyway, what i really wanna say is that AiC's the greatest "grunge" or "alternative rock" band ever and also that Layne is one of the greatest rock singer ever (any period).

AIC are underrated, but no one is better than Led Zeppelin and AIC cant be better than Black Sabbath..YET, there are bands better than AIC, but no band has ever showed so much feeling in their music as AIC did and still does, their music is the one i can relate to better than anything else, without AIC my life wouldnt be the same, Jerry Cantrell is a great influence for me, and R.I.P. Layne Staley, one of the best singers of all time

How is Alice in chains greater than Led Zeppelin or Black Sabbath? Jerry Cantrell got a lot of influence from both Zeppelin, and Sabbath, so it would be idiotic to consider AIC better than both those sensational bands.
They're all great in their own way.

@Regset. Black Sabbath has a influence with Zeppelin, but Black Sabbath was the first heavy rock band, so if you listen to all the bands in the 80's and 90's there's a big influence of Sabbath in those bands.
