  • lololooololololollolozzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz this is sooooooo ney lolz!

  • They hope it's a rubbish train, otherwise there's gonna be a lot of pissed off passengers...

  • Ничего себе скорость и меткость ))) Небось бывшие баскетболисты.

  • Garbage train what next garbage bus?

  • @100Ryangoodman100 lolz true

  • Ok..Wow. I remember seeing this once at a Bloor station when I was really youn..about '94. I thought it was a dream all this time until I stumbled upon this.

I KNEW I wasn't crazy. All I remembered was an ugly train and 5 men stepping out to toss in garbage bags and hop onto the train and leave. I was SO confused.

  • TTC, going ham since the 1990's!

  • I wonder how much the city spends on air freshener for the employees of that train

  • @poynerj2009 It was at Old mill.

  • thanks for capturing this piece of history!

  • yup...that's EXACTLY what the TTC in Toronto is....FUCKING GARBAGE

    period.

  • What time does the train come out so I could see it?

    Thanks =P

  • its the M1

  • @Robloxian1249 Correction G1

  • @ROBLOXLover24 actually it's a G2 class. Part of a six car order of aluminum bodied gloucesters. The G1's were steel.

  • someone here's a huge U2 fan - nice loops of Discotheque and Mofo

  • $28+ dollars for these overpaid TTC workers.

  • @ducati0000 you think thats bad, i know a guy working with the track repair crews he jokes around about it, they do nothing most of the night, maybe 2 hours of work for 8 hours pay. they drink coffee and joke around most of the night.

  • Garbage train ... ha, never thought of it that way. Yeah, you're right.

The subways in TO have become even dirtier the past few years. And the screeching noise the trains make when it comes to a stop ... OUCH.

  • Wow! I do remember seeing this train. Always ran late at night and it was very loud.

  • i would love 2 do that job

  • I remember when you posted this on T.T. I remember seeing them scrap this train at Wilson.

Years ago CTV had a show called Roadcrew. One episode saw the 3 members of the gang trying their hand and operating a TTC bus, subway and streetcar. The subplot of the episode saw them searching for a 'secret tunnel' and 'secret train' in which they toured Lower Bay and then finally got to ride this Gloucester garbage train. I wish someone would find a copy of that episode!

  • u sure that was 1998, or 1988?? lol

  • how can the train drive while the doors are open?

    isn't there a safety feature?

  • Hey if ever breaks down, hopely it will be at the DUMP, they wouldnt even have to unload it, they just leave it. LOL

  • Canadian public employees are so much more efficient then their American counterparts. In America this operation would take 100 workers and 25 garbage trucks...

  • It would be really romantic to be there with your girlfriend........here's your train , smell you later...Imagine the smell inside.

  • @ermollejuo The train only picks up Garbage.....not Passengers.....I know, i live in Toronto!!

  • @stonesfan71 at least the mta puts garbage on flatbeds

  • @stonesfan71 toronto passengers are garbage.

  • That train must smell like sh*t

  • In London in the UK, we just fill the regular tube trains with rubbish...

  • whaaa? i never knew TTC had a subway car specifically for garbage collection?

or maybe it's that they are no longer in service?

  • @Akaalis It's retired, a fire on a garbage train made them pick it up on the road

  • @Akaalis still in service!!

  • HAHAHAHAHA that didn't happen to be during a garbage strike did it?

  • growing up this was a myth to me, until i saw a small dusty ass train with circle windows.

  • @zerominus omg that train was a special one off train! its last name was Rose thats all i remember

  • @thewizkid15 You're talking about RT-10 "Tokyo Rose" That car was retired in 1999. Interestingly enough, Tokyo Rose had Gloucester Trucks and controllers (even the cab resembled a larger gloucester cab with the same controls).

  • seems like a fun job

  • So that's what they do with the garbage!!

  • I would think it's against OSHA rules to have the side door open and jumping out while running

  • @tryithere it's not NYC never mind

  • hahaha when i saw the tittle taht says garbage train i thought it was the train that we use everyday lol

  • HAHAHAHA

TTC should be only used for this, garbage collectoin,

    And maybe cattle transport

  • woah i had no idea there was a garbage train ha ha ツ

  • LMAO

  • lolol A garbage TRAIN... now surely I've seen everything!

  • lol at the Person at 1:10

"Did I see what I think I just saw"

  • @MitchellM15

Have you seen a man eat his own head????

then you havent seen everything... and neither have we

  • lmao nice! throwing at the speed of light! now that is what i call professionalism!

  • Does anyone know the name of the music in the video?

  • @Bus7777 You could contact the creator of the video. My bet is that it is from a music library, & in that case good luck. There are hundreds of music libraries & hundreds of thousands of songs! I would, however. try Sound Ideas. they are a canadian library based out of Richmond Hill, Ontario. Some elements of the song sound similar to some cd's I have of theirs. Good luck in your search!

  • why the fuck doesn't the fucking mta in ny do this!?!?!

  • The TTC doesn't do it anymore, they decided to do it the ol regulare way by surface routes because of fire hazards

  • Woah.. that thing is incredibly efficient.

  • wow torontos an amazing city but it must of sucked during that strike o.o and isnt there gonna be new subways?

  • no there wont be any new trains for now maybe after they extended the subway they will bring some new trains because these trians are OLD and ugly comparing with europe ...but there will be new streetcars sooon

  • oh having to be in calgary theres no subway only C-Trains which are slower and theres no street cars theres only buses and theres a bus every hour pretty much so it takes forever and hard to rely on transit

  • The new trains have been delivered. They are called Movia T35A08's Look it up. They won't start service for another few months though.

  • i was in toronto a month or so ago awesome city :D

must be ''da train of stank''

  • I once left a bag full of shit for the garbage train. That was funny when they through it in the train and it all splashed.

  • if u go by davisville station you can still see the garbage train stiting there....atleast i think its it, it has the yellow strips and everything

  • HOW IRONIC!

the TTC itself is UTTER GARBAGE - so this just proves what i have been saying...

  • Probably went downhill after the old Gloucester cars were scrapped!

  • i not to fond with TTC too hear too much of horror story of them from family

  • haha ! great footage!

  • hey they're getting away with all the garbage somebody stop them!

  • CALL THE POLICE!!! lol XD

  • cant imagine it smells all that good in their!

  • Looks like they're taking bags of money...lol

  • King station?

  • it says bloor station in may 1998

  • @RakureX2

It's Bloor-Yonge station (Bloor platform to be exact, for the Yonge-University-Spadina line)

  • ROFL!!

  • omg they're stealing all the garbage!

  • it looks and feels as if they just pulled off the heist. LOL

  • damn its like they are gods of garbage throwing >.>

  • wow...

  • lol

  • I miss seeing the garbage trains in the TTC subway.

  • i dont

  • wow they sould have these in England aswell but the poor workers that have to sit in a hot old train with rubbish bags surrounding them!

  • lmao rofl lolol i ever new theyhad this

  • They don't anymore....

Ever since the fire at Old Mill Station of December of 2000.

A garbage train caught on fire as it left Old Mill heading eastbound. Fortunately, It was moved to the bridge where firefighters could reach the flames and douse it. Because of this, the TTC banned the duties of garbage trains...

  • with a lot of push from the fire marshal

as i read something to the lines of

The Toronto Fire Service had issues with the ttc using the garbage train and public safety.

  • i dot blame thim an utter safety risk and eyesore TTCs butt is indeed in a slang thinking it ok the subway train to haul away garbage

  • @dragoon858 Then Shuttle buses were forced between Kipling and Dundas West. MiWay, TTC, and GO helped out in this situation back then.

  • LOL!

  • I'd laugh if they accidentally threw it on the tracks.

  • The weirdest garbage trains I've seen are the ones with those large round windows. I wonder if that design was ever going to be used for the passenger train? I've also seen a flatbed train pass through a station once during regular hours.

  • yeh those are the maintenance trains, there was also an accident involving one back in '03 i think, 1 of the guys on board died =\

  • I LOL'D

  • damn amazing accuracy with the bags!

  • lol they throwing it in like if it was a trash truck more like a trash train lol

  • hahahaha

  • oh yea, what song did you use for the video?

  • bring back the H-1 i want that job

  • Would be better without the music!

  • I miss those cars.

  • Now they pick it up with a truck at street level.

  • why, isn't it easier with a train?

  • back where i'm at, in NYC, we still use garbage trains and it makes life easier...we use a lot of our retired fleet for work cars or for scrapping or for the famous nostalgia train

  • Saw the truck once. Sexy garbage bags they got

  • Holy Shit! A great way to take out the trash. Look at those guys go.

  • they should use a newer train, this one sounds so loud and looks so old and dirty

  • Loud, old, dirty...that's the charm of a Garbage Train!

  • oh yeah, gets ALL the ladies ^.~ lmao

  • @transittoronto LOL!!! they should have more garbage trains at like 10 pm hour..... low traffic and the time im in the tunnels.

  • Great video i remember seeing a garbage train in toronto a long time ago

  • Nice video!

  • I remember seeing this vid on T.T. back in 1998. Reminded me of when I saw the garbage train when it was stored at Davisville for a while and then moved to Wilson yard to be scrapped that same year. Thanks for the memories

  • What year was it scrapped? I remember getting a photo of one of those cars parked at a SUbway storage yard in 2005.

  • First time ever witnessing that while sober.

  • Nice subway system TO. I thought it was a little to low key for my tastes when I was there. The they did have nice seats. Then again I live in NYC so my subway is always loud and brash.

  • stealth!

  • LOOL...ewlll...

  • Hey cool video. Makes the mundain job of garbage collecting look like commmandos.

  • I don't think they use garbage trains anymore.

  • No, they haven't since 2001

  • This is so neat!
