  • thnx ;)

  • nice ... many thanks !

  • @FrankyPomme

    It´s my pleasure

  • My second question: I need to extract data from the HD, but the connector doesn't look like the typical SATA connectors I'm familiar with. It has 22 "pins" (tangs, actually. 7 for power and 15 for data?). I need an adapter or enclosure for this drive. What should I be looking/asking for?

  • @blumuze2

the HD from a DV6000 is a normal Sata HD. What you mean is probably the adapter between HD an Mainboard. You have to remove this adapter. After removing the adapter you will see that it is a normal SATA HD

  • @laptopersatzteile24 Ah. I see. Thanks!

  • At approximately 3:12 in the video you unplug and remove a yellowish cable. What is the purpose of that cable? The dv6700 I'm working on doesn't have one!

  • @blumuze2

That´s the cable for the Webcam. You can see at 13:00 where it goes to.

  • @laptopersatzteile24 Thanks. Makes sense now. May I ask another question or two about this particular model? The problem with it is that pressing the power button makes the lights blink for a second, but that's about it. It won't even POST, much less boot. I know it could be a million things, but is there anything this model is known for?

  • @blumuze2

It is really difficult to say from here, but this model is known for problems with the graphic card. If you look for "DV6000 graphic card problem" at google you will find a lot of information about it.

  • @laptopersatzteile24 Thanks. But this one doesn't offer any beep codes at all. Just blinks for a second after hitting the power button, then nothing.

  • @blumuze2

It does not offer a beep code at all time. sometimes the malfunktion is to heavy so that the laptop can´t boot. In this case it can´t give any beep codes. As I said I can´t locate the failure from here. But it seems to be something with your mainboard. To know it exactly you have to go to a specialized repair shop where they can test it.

  • helped me alot, thx!

  • @juliansuse1

    My pleasure!

  • What should I do to clean my fan? I need to do somethink like you are doing to 5:30? I dont wanna demonatge all of my laptop parts.

  • @arkasza2007 I would suggest to disassemble the fan and clean it with a tooth brush. This way you make sure it is really clean and you can add new thermal paste on it. Another way you can clean your fan is with a air duster. This way you blow out the dust with compressed air. Make sure you use only compresses air without any oil or someting like that in it. And do not use an compressor because it is too strong. Search for air duster on google or youtube and you will find some more info.
