I remember this! I thought it was funny but stupid at the same time. Yes, it did take FOREVER to replace the door, but I think it was b/c they were doing renovations on the mall anyways. Sad Regency Mall didn't make it. And also it isn't Ft. Gordon's fault..Regency mall was taken over by gangs and drug dealers.

I live here in Augusta. My buddy was in jail with the old guy that did this. My buddy asked him why he did it and my friend said that he said "shit, I just always wanted to do it" lol he was alittle drunk too. The mall didnt replace the door FOREVER! the mall has been kinda redone, lots of changes. it owns.

Agusta Mall relpaced Regency mall to become Agusta's Biggest shopping mall. I grew up in Augusta through the 80's so to see this happen is a shocker! Blame Ft. Gordon for bringing in Idiots from all over the country!

I was stationed at Fort Gordon twice (98-99, 03-07) and for you to blame this on the post, sir, is just plain idiotic. It was a CIVILIAN who had the Blues Brothersesque drive through the mall and last time I heard the crime and poverty rates in Augusta/Richmond County were not because of the soldiers stationed there. Kindly check your facts before placing blame.
