  • @Squiz1971 thanks it does, strange that leyland nationals are spread along the fleet from around 1008-1052 then 1467- 1525, 1789 - 1865 mainly!

  • @Mr220393 Originally nationals were numbered in the following series 4000 4467-4526 & 4788-4799 or 6000 as above or in the 7000 series 7008-7052 plus the 2 Dennis Lancelots 7053/54. All single decker buses new to the PTE were renumbered to become 1xxx series in April 1985 as the next delivery of new single decker buses followed on from these. Hence the nationals fleet looking well spread out.

  • My first ride of 6311 was when she was still gardiner engined at Wythall. I have rode on 6311 on the 2 museum days. The first time was when 6311 had her first & rather knackered Leyland engine which I went from Wythall to Aston Manor & the 2nd time was with the refurbished WMPTE Leyland engine which she has now on the return trip[ from Aston Manor back to Wythall. I also have had the pleasure of riding 6311 on the Henley in ARDEN round trip which was a great trip. A great video of a fine bus 5*

  • This first time I rode 6311 was when she was still gardiner powered at Wythall. I also rode on her when she had her first Leyland engine on the 2 museums which I did the Wythall to Aston Manor trip & then did the 2 museum trip again but this time from Aston Manor back to Wythall & have posted 3 videoes of the trip when she had her 2nd refurbished WMPTE Leyland engine. I have also been on 6311 when she did the Henley in Arden trip which was really good. Another great video of a great WMPTE bus 5*

  • @Squiz1971 So was 6311 origionally Gardner? I'm sure this was a Wolverhampton garaged bus for some time can you confirm? Ta!

  • @utubescooby1 No originally was Leyland engined 6301-6420 were delivered with Leyland engines. No 6311 was delivered new to DUDLEY garage 6301-6315 were delivered there according to a 1978 fleetlist I have but eventually went to I think Yardley Wood & were all converted eventually to Gardiner engines by WMPTE from withdrawn older fleetlines when the leyland engines started to wear out. Sorry about putting the same comment twice it never came up as saved lol

  • @Squiz1971 Hey thanks for info. Much appreciated. At the time I'd a caught a Metrobus all the time do you know of any Rolls Royce engined Metro's still about out of interest? Ta!

  • @utubescooby1 Yes 7007 is still about in preservation & a few of the 2226-2245 series did go to other operators whether they are still around I am unsure

  • @Squiz1971 7007 is still at Wythall I think I would love to go on one of these again but they never seam to run it. Do you know of any other Metroscania's still running? I would love to see these again. Ta!

  • @utubescooby1 I am not sure altho I think I have seen a single decker version at Wythall last year I think Leicester Transport

  • @utubescooby1 There is now a video of 7007 on here by a guy called metrobuschris if ur interested sounds great
