fly fishing seems really fun and relaxing. its more stalking based than action based like other types of fishing. Its really more about getting out and being stealth rather than getting out and waiting for fish to hit. I gotta do it before i die
you have to pull the line because if you dont. too much slack will be present. wit htoo much slack, when a fish takes your fly and you do to 'set the hook' you will not be able to tighten the line and hook teh fish. 9 times out of 10 fish do not hook themselves in fly fishing, they can tell immediatly that a fly isnt real food and usually spit it out unless you get a good hook set.
When you pull the line in, you are making the fly move as it goes up and down in the stream. If it's a dry fly you are fishing with, he only keeps the connection to the fly when the stream pushes it towards him.

that line is a little too noticable, a transparent or even a slightly darker line would be better
