  • Anybody remember this cartoon ?

  • I'm mildly confused...

Are we supposed to be rooting for the crime boss or the cops?

  • Big Boss is an old school mobster

  • Gorbachev had the same spots on the head!

  • No offence to anyone who likes this show but I personally find rape and Child molistation to be a much lower crime then selling drugs.

  • @MrMetroid1998 Well, you're right. But Big Boss's goons wouldn't stoop to that either. Kidnapping, yes, but not rape or molestation. This WAS a kids show after all. :)

  • Wow, I wish I could get a drug where you put it on your forehead and it automatically takes effect.

  • this is my favorite to awesome cartoon

  • YES!!!! My favorite episode!!!

  • Crime's a waistin, lol.

  • even beserko doesn't do drugs

  • You jerks did it now! You ticked off Big Boss!

  • I like how the bad guy looks like a monster. haha.

  • @dmace81

The animators really made an effort to make him look as ghoulish as possible.

  • This episode gave me nightmares when I was a kid. I'm curious to see how cheesy it is now.

  • @Eagle5 LOL good call

  • Drugs kill but so does crime!

  • I'm surprised big boss didn't just hand addictum over to the cops

  • In a way, he did.

  • Say what you want about the crime rate of Empire City, but I would kill someone to live in a place that had its own designated "blimp dock"

  • sooo its ok to do crimes but drugs are bad?.........WTF was wrong with 80s cartoons

  • hey, even Don Corneole had objections against drugs. Well, kinda anyway.

  • @michelrpg Well yeah, he wouldn't sell them, but that's because it was too bloody a business and brought too much attention. Big Boss didn't want to do it because he had a moral issue with it, which is really weird. Since when's the bad guy a moral champion?

  • This is the episode I remember most. I couldn't believe a cartoon was so gritty as it was for me being like 8-9yrs old. They kept it as real as possible for kids. I miss cartoons. I still watch them as an adult to keep my imagination going.

  • Man, some guy offered me Spark the other week. Spark! Called himself The Headman. Told him it sucked compared to Crystal Twist.

  • DRUGS BAD .... STEALING GOOD .... Now I know why I have never done drugs! THANK YOU COPS!

  • McBoomBoom, bitches! Nah seriously, notice how they made the pusher look like the lowest form of human, scumbag motherfucker.

  • Good stuff, gotta love the old school gangster morality. Reminds me of the godfather

  • lol, omg, that is so funny, lamo.

  • I remember this episode brought back memories

  • Wow... and here I thought Big Boss had no decency

  • Why is the black guy wearing sunglasses inside?

  • @13Yeared cause he is cooool

  • @13Yeared cause he is COOL

  • big boss is from the old school.

  • Ironically, the No. 1 rule among illegal drug traders is to never become addicted to drugs themselves. Even druglords understand the dangers of drug addiction!

  • Crime my anti-drug.

  • Thanx 4 the Upload....

  • It's crime fighting time!....WTF was I smoking as a kid?

  • this was werid cartoon :P

  • oh shit @ 1:02 he took that shit straight to the head LOL

  • @kenaeda65 literally. LOL

  • Wish I had glowing drugs :(

  • LOL this is a 30 min PSA! Got to love the 80's. Brings me back that's for sure!

  • Crystal Twist looks great.

  • Buttons McBoomBoom is my all time faveroute crook

  • lol propaganda

  • great the worst crime boss will have nothing 2 do with drugs

  • OoOoh havent seen this episode yet...except maybe when I was a kid but don't really remember this one...the drugs lines are kinda corny...lol

  • Big Boss sounds like W.C. Field LOL

  • @kenaeda65 He sounds more like Edward G. Robinson IMO

  • woa ! that dude is the first glass dealer.

  • if crimals don't spend their stolen money on drugs, how do they have a good time?

  • they steal, so even Big Boss has his limits why is that?

  • lol

  • hehe I thought Buttons was gonna put a gun up to him & tell him to get the hell out of town before the heat is on him.

  • wow crack epidemic days make me actually love growing up in newyork in the 80's u cannot deplicate this vintage baby

  • Wow, even the criminals don't do drugs... you can tell the authors of this script thought this subject was really scethy...

  • i wonder if they call meth, "crystal twist".

  • this is the prototype for the flat screen tv

  • haha crystal twist...

  • Crystal twist? I guess big boss owes him $150 bucks.

  • I miss my childhood :(

  • hahaha ok ... lets not forget ALL CARTOONS suck now this is when cartoons use to be good... you know the cartoons like the simpsons and beavis and butthead and oh ya C.O.P.S. :P

  • BEST SHOW EVER.

That you for the flash back. It feels good to feel good.

  • oooooooh shit i remember this episode .omg i loved this show with a passion ! ! !man they dont make shows like this no more .

  • Right? Like A flavor a Fanta or Shasta or something.

  • This was one of their best episodes.

  • Even a hardened professional criminal like Big Boss has morals haha

  • At least big boss didn't push drugs.

  • @damnittwice Nice PSA. Big Boss had some honor.

  • COPS had some cool toys.

  • I hear that. I had a bunch of them. They don't make toys like that anymore. remember how they all had some kind of cap guns?

  • Wtf, a killer that won't sell drugs because they Kill? lol. Never realised how ridiculous it was back then.

  • This was when cartoons were good! Now they suck!

  • Crystal Twist..! LOL! ITs like acid how they stick it to their forehead..! LOL

  • This was such a great cartoon. I forgot Big Boss had that whole Edward G. Robinson thing going.

  • It's hard to imagine that the crooks had a bit of moral value when it came to drugs. I guess this was to teach kids that not all everyone is bad, except those who took drugs.

  • I haven't seen this show since 89-90. I was cleaning out my closet and i found my old Bezerko action figure so I had to look this show up ...then boom there it was.

  • I only buy my drugs from guys with grey skins, claws, and 8-inch long ties.

  • "alright hand over your cash" "it's too late i just got robbed this morning i got nothing left" thats perversely funny

  • is this the show where it ends with, 'case closed' every time?

  • Sure, unless it's a rare two-parter.

  • This is one of my main infuences as a child. This helped me stay away from drugs. Between Cyber COPS, DARE and The Just Say No campaign, there was no way I would ever turn to illeagal drugs. And my favorite part is actually two. The first one is when Big Boss visits Berserko in the hospital. Showing his true feelings. That he really does love his nephew. And the second is when the crime lord and cronnies team-up with the COPS.

  • Same here. It's also the reason I don't drink alcohol: I saw so many drunk driving ads as a kid, I'm scared to drink.

  • That's reasonable, Hypnodance. But for drinking, there's nothing wrong with having one every now and then. It's just a matter of being responsible and knowing your limits.

  • And about DWI, it is a scary thing. But most responsible places have a way to subdue that. It's required by law these days that if a person appears totally inebriated, the bartender calls for a taxi to take the person home.

  • "hey i don't need drugs! i get my kicks from crime!" Mcboomboom you tool....diversify..

  • crystal twist heads.lol

  • As for Big Boss's henchmen, Baeb, he hired thieves, and a gun nut hitmen, but no drug dealers, and certainly not assassins.

  • get all the people that didnt support the cool 80s carttons became you know

  • no disrespect but McBoomBoom almost looks like a dark version Dick Tracy.

  • As for Mc Boom Boom trying to rob that store, there was no way he could be arrested, because he technically didn't do anything at all.

  • Even though Yaoi does have a very compelling point, you have to remember that whenever people make bad choices, the consequences are always bad.

  • RichardSwayne, the word is "GENOCIDE".

  • "DRUGS KILL!!!". Still kinda funny coming from the guy who employs a man with a MACHINEGUN in his stomach XD

  • Man it's been 20 years since I've seen this. They don't have cartoons like his anymore.

  • Where can I buy crystal twist?

  • Well we all know Big Boss is not fully human 1 of his arms has a glove..mechanical.Which ever about the spelling there. BIg Boss was Stubborn and Mad at the time maybe that was is i'm not sure Stubborness thats why he was not Infected.Who can say,was cool though/ yet they did say meth as well in that video b4 it was well known to most of us. nice Video who ever got it sweet.Ya :)

  • Wait, Big Boss crushes a piece of crystal twist with his bare hands but isnt affected, yet his nephew falls into a crate of it, and it immediately "infects" him?

  • Big Boss crushed with his metal hand. Must have something to do with skin contact.

  • was "crystal twist" suppose to be crystal meth? Damn, crystal twist was a hell of a drug, or crystal twist is going to be a hell of a drug!

  • What in the world?

These anti drug episodes were so heavy handed.

  • In the 80s and early 90s, drug misuse was a more serious problem, so people had to learn how to be frightened of drugs. I remember an anti-drug message I watched as a child that showed a human hand carrying heroin turn into a skeletal hand in seconds. I still get goosebumps each time I remember that. Never underestimate the effects of drug misuse. It better to not start at all than to recover from it.

  • Drug use was a problem because of bad policies about regulation. Heavy handed anti-drug messages made the problem ten times worse.

  • You think that was creepy? You should see the messages that talk about drug dealers. There's one where this dude turns into a snake after walking through the shadows...that mess still sends chills down my spine.

  • HEY WAIT! If crystal twist can be absorbed through skin like what happened to Beserko, then how come it didn't absorb into Addictim's hand before he gave it to the addict he sold it to?

  • "Drugs KILL!!" Oh, and that guy with the guns doesn't? :P

  • 2:05 - Crime: My anti-drug!

  • crak dealer! i see him!!

  • lets hear it shady face!

  • "Don't hurt him."

    "Whose side are you on?"

I heard that on Bravestarr once.

  • Big Boss said this dude ain't slanging that dope on 'his' streets! It's rare that you see a villain on the show with principles...that's what I like about COPS!

  • Aw, c'mon, in shows like this it's not THAT unusual that the bad guys and good guys work together occassionally. The Dukes of Hazzard had a few episodes like that too.

  • Well, yeah that's true. Sometimes they need a situation that allows both sides to work as a team if it's a threat to both sides, like in this situation.

  • Yeah, and don't forget "Where On Earth Is Carmen Sandiego??"

  • Same here. It adds a little deph.

  • Thanks YaoiHuntress!

  • 6:00 - if this were a Judge Dredd comic, he wouldn't worry about the jail cell's overcrowding, he would just execute the drug abusers on sight haha

  • Lol for drug abuse? Nah, if anything, they might get a couple years working on the Cursed Earth Labor Camps and some rehab.

  • Generside is the lowest crime in my book.

  • I almost forgot all about that cartoon! The toys were awesome, too!

  • "I don't need drugs, I get my kicks from crime." Classic.

  • That was my favorite line in this episode too! The hypocrisy and irony is too funny. The drug dealer actually had a brilliant idea that would've profited the Big Boss. By turning the deal down, it just showed how backwards and insufficient he was as a Crime Lord. If the writers were trying to convince kids that drugs were wrong and bad, then they should've had the bad guys taking it, endorsing it and encouraging people to use it. By seeing that, kids would want to do the opposite.

  • Not really, most kids like the bad guys.

  • Well, from the crooks, even though they may be the badguys, what's ironic is that they actually WEREN'T in this episode. And even they're not that dumb.

  • Yeah I wonder where Misdemeaner and Dr Badvibes where when this was going on.

  • Eating Crystal Twist as cereal.

  • Loved the cartoon back in the eighties but Wow this episode was a great PSA. But what kils me is Badguys telling people not to use drugs butthen its okay for them to go out and steal. Somebody's moral compass needs fixing.

  • I love big boss's voice.. mmmaaahh mmmaaahh that was hilarious shit

  • Crooks with ethics and morals, lol. Well, the 80's was the "Drug fighting time!"

  • For knowing that there are some crimes that even Big Boss won't commit, like selling drugs, in some weird, perverted way, I actually find that quite strangely refreshing. Know what I mean??

  • hahahaha "shadyface"

  • Just say no and take a bite out of crime.

  • Classic :D

  • So, let me get this straight...Big Boss has several hired killers, a professional theif, and a gun nut hitman on his payroll, but druf dealers are BAD! Most. Ineffective. Crimelord. EVER!!! Lol, I love this show.

  • Well most of Big Boss' crimes involve theft :p

  • When you think about it, it's not too bad of an idea. You get in less trouble for just stealing stuff than being responsible for something that may eventually kill people.

  • One of my favorite episodes

  • God, I love how thick the anti-drug campaign was during the 80's...hi-larious

  • His name was Buttons? I had no idea...

  • Yep. Buttons McBoom-Boom. He was my favorite...grim, creepy, and BADASS...even the other crooks were afraid of him.

  • I have to admit he was a favorite of mine too...

    Dr. Badvibes was cool too...

  • And Nightshade was hot.

  • HA! I was just thinking about her again and wondering where she is, and then I saw a glimpse of this.
