  • I get what he is saying about the degense of marriage with states rights. But really something like that needs to be made legal in every state. You can't have like 10 states were its legal to gay marry and the rest illegal. It needs to be every state or else your limiting were gay people can move too and live. I guess eventually every state will come around but that takes years. So I feel gay marriage needs to be like aboration were every state it's legal and the states can't make it illegal.

  • RON PAUL ON A PAPER BALLOT!!

    Or they will rob us!!!

YT SEARCH "Programmer under oath admits fraud"

  • Those in DC are addicted to power. They are high on it. Their judgment is tainted by it. They will use it when every the feel like it. They will get more any way they can. They did have a valid prescription, the Constitution but they have altered it unlawfully, making their perscription void. They need an intervention.

  • Partisan suckers need to remember...EVERYTHING starts by building blocks. We didn't abolish slavery overnight. Getting someone like Alan Keyes or someone like Barr elected takes paving the way...like Repubs took years to form...

  • Wow, this guy is the man! I didn't know that he is trying to PROTECT MARRIAGE/THE FAMILY and against the PATRIOT ACT. This guy is the man! WHat is he regarding INFANTICIDE?

  • SOMEONE TALK TO ME

    great vid dt

  • only about 25 congressmen voted no for the Patriot Act, they didnt get a chance to read it and some of them thought it was plan they had been working for sometime, but no it wasnt, and if they didnt vote for it, they were not patriots. They were told sadam had nukes and was ready to use them. Defense of marriage was very constitutional.

  • What???

Defense of Marriage Act was NOT constitutional.

Equal Protection Clause - Fourteenth Amendment

    Establishment Clause - First Amendment

Oddly enough, Free Exercise Clause - First Amendment.

  • What does what u just posted have ANYTHING to do with PROTECTING MARRIAGE??? ???

  • Erm...just read the Constitution. It's all there.

  • No Mcbama Nov 4th

    1) Bring the troops home from the 150+ countries they are in - no more pre-emptive wars or leaving Iraq only to troop surge Afghanistan.

    2) END the FED -- back our currency with a form a precious metal standard - No more corporate bail outs or funding for these endless wars Stop the printing Press which devalues our currency

    3) Work to eliminate the national debt

    4) Fight for Personal Privacy - no to FISA, Patriot act, Real Ids Yes to Freedom

    Vote 3rd party

  • he talks a good game, but his record makes me think he's a typical politician.

  • BARR is a Brilliant guy, Hes had an Honest change of Heart and is now on the Right side.

Fact is he would be a superior choice to either Phony , Mccain Obama . A vote for either of those 2 is a Wasted Vote !

We all need to start voting our Principles and support these 3rd party candidates , they are our only hope to Restore Sanity to the System

  • i would never vote for obama or mccain. i think i'm going to vote for chuck baldwin.

  • me 2

  • Exactly. Only doing just that will the rest of America wake up and eventually begin to move to 3rd Party candidates and stop the corrupt PARTISAN shenanigans of the DEMs and REPUBS... I personally wanted Alan Keyes. But Keyes/Barr? Hmm?

  • He didnt answer the question about his medical marijuana policy

  • LOL! Bob Barr says they talk one thing then do another. Kind of how he supported the war on drugs, wrote DOMA, fought against the practice of Wicca in the military, he is pro-life, and he voted for the Patriot Act. Now he is running for the Libertarian party which should be against all of that.

Bob Barr himself is the biggest flip-flopper of them all. I wouldn't trust him for anything.

  • Barr is a Brilliant man , theres no question about it ! He would dominate Obama and Mccain in a debate

I WANT BOB BARR IN THOSE DEBATES, THIS IS MY COUNTRY TOO AND I DESERVE AS ALL AMERICANS DO TO HEAR THIS MANS MSSG HEAD TO HEAD AGAINST THE 2 PARTIES

people dont just sit there, you gotta yell and scream , who the hell is anyone to tell you that

"no WE will not allow you any choice in debates, you will get on your knees and accept what we give you, we own your minds "

    FIGHT

  • Until he proves he has changed, he won't get my vote. He also needs to quit defending DOMA and pro-life. If states should be able to decide who can get married, shouldn't they also have the right to decide on the slavery?

And it's kind of hard for my wife to have self-ownership if the government tells her what she can and cannot do with her own uterus.

Bob Barr is NOT A LIBERTARIAN. He is a Republican who SAYS(hasn't proven it through actions) he wants smaller government. Don't be fooled.

  • so who r u voting for ?

  • I'm going with Obama. The only thing that scares me more than McCain's tax plan that we don't have the money for is Sarah Palin and her fascist views. I'm pretty sick of all the flip-flopping and lies that the Republican candidates are pulling.

  • You are not even worth talking to because you are a total Moron.

Barack Obama is a total Lightweight, an empty suit fraud who offers and if elected will change NOTHING. Hes all fluff slick style with NO substance, might as well vote for Mickey Mouse, whats the difference ? zero

And Joe Biden is as bad or worse but in a much different way. Here we have a classic Pure Career Partisan Politician whos a Washington Insider for over 20 yrs and hes done NOTHING for the american People.

  • Bob Barr would Rate John Mccain on a scale of 1 to 10 zero, but hed Rate a Near Socialist Big Govt. Radical Liberal like obama a Negative 4

Obama is a Big Govt. radical Liberal Phony

  • You call me a moron for putting up a valid argument that you don't seem to have any counterpoints to, yet all that you can come up with for an argument is "he has no experience".

I'll take no experience any day of the week over someone with a record for lies, corruption(Palin), plans that will break the bank, and anti-self ownership(one of the two main Libertarian values). Self-ownership is the same value that Bob Barr has proven time and time again that he doesn't understand or care about.

  • Nicely said. It bothers me that the Libertarian Party (and the libertarian/small-government movement as a whole) is being absorbed by right-wing social conservatives. Just look at all of the people on YouTube who supported Ron Paul and are now supporting Chuck Baldwin (including Ron Paul himself).

If the Libertarian Party truly believed in libertarian principles, it would have nominated Mary Ruwart, who's been a libertarian almost as long as the Libertarian Party has been around.

  • What a sec. You are aginst medical marijuana? Why in the hell do people pretend to care about what other people do to their own bodies. Honestly. What I do in the pricacy of my home is my business! As long as i'm not hurting anyone else! RIGHT?! I know some alcoholics that cant make it to work on time or at all. I've never missed a day because of my habbit. I have two jobs!

  • DOMA is in no way promoting states' rights to govern legal marriage if the act itself ONLY applies to "same sex" constituents. In that respect, DOMA is discriminating against gay people on a federal scale.

If Bob Barr truly believes DOMA was created with libertarian intentions, he would acknowledge the mistake of applying it only to homosexual couples instead of ALL consenting adult couples.

As a libertarian, I'm at a loss as to how he can identify DOMA with libertarianism.

    Any explanations?

  • I love what Bob Barr has to say in this interview. That having been said, does anyone else think it's hilarious that chris wallace keeps using the term "beefs" in regards to Bob Barr's issues with McCain?

  • Bob Barr is the only true American running for President.

You can call yourself Democrat or Republican, but if you support either major party candidates you are not a true conservative.

McCain wants to illegaly wiretap YOU, run a governament of perpetual war of agression and only cut taxes for the super-rich while leaving you in the cold.

Don't put your fear before your freedom, if you're a true patriot, a God fearing conservative, vote Bobb Barr!

  • I dont see how you can argue with states rights. If you wanna be some pussy pot smoking liberal, with "free" everything, then live in a state with other like minded people. If you think people should work for their paycheck, should have the right to broad gun usage, and other supposedly conservative staples, then likewise live in a state that honors those principles. People arent the same, states arent the same, economies in such states arent the same - the same set of rules cant govern all of them

  • Bob Barr is full of shit. He doesn't want a free America.

  • Prove it.

  • can't prove a negativo

  • Right. You said he's full of shit. That's a positive, literally and figuratively.

What is he lying about, and how is it not true?

  • He thinks that marriage is sacred even though he has had multiple divorces. He is against the legalization of medical Marijuana. He voted for the PATRIOT Act. This man is only exploiting the Libertarian Party for personal gain.

  • He has fought against these things for years and he is for the legalization of medical marijuana! Who else is there that will carry the liberty vote? Ron Paul is out and most of us are smart enough to listen to Dr. Paul when he says don't write him in because it won't count! Who do you want to see win? McBama? Thanks for destroying liberty.......

  • Cite your source.

  • This is from Dictionary online

    1. freedom from arbitrary or despotic government or control.

    2. freedom from external or foreign rule; independence.

    3. freedom from control, interference, obligation, restriction, hampering conditions, etc.; power or right of doing, thinking, speaking, etc., according to choice.

    4. freedom from captivity, confinement, or physical restraint: The prisoner soon regained his liberty.

  • Go fuck a rake. I asked you to cite your source when Bob Barr said he wants to legalize medical marijuana. You can't because he didn't

  • Well then ask for what you want dickhead! You are the one who jumps to conclusions asshole!

    watch?v=164M7oIX5uQ

    watch?v=SS2BQjoCn0A

Listen, you can waste your vote on McBama or write-in Ron Paul's name and never have anybody hear about it, but the truth is....the libertarian party will always be steering Barr's decisions.....and that's a good thing. You can continue to be an asshole to me, maybe it will help you get your rocks off...I don't know. The truth is McBama sucks!

  • well he certainly flipflopped on that issue just like every other. If you must know, I'm not voting this year. McCain, Obama, and McBarr can all fuck themselves. Way to go setting up a lousy strawman.

  • Well good for you, I don't remember asking! Sorry that Bob Barr isn't good enough for you. Enjoy your day off from voting while the rest of us try to prop up the libertarian party for the next election. Barr will be gone in a few months, can't you just stop attacking the liberty candidate....Geez! I am tired of the libertarians always fighting with themselves.....it gets democrats and republicans elected! See ya later negative Nancy!

  • I would vote for Bob Barr if he was a actual Libertarian. He isn't. He is a lying, no good opportunist. You are as delusional as the Obamanites. What you are doing is projecting what you like about Ron Paul onto Bob Barr. Ron Paul is a great man. You're only fooling yourself. Cut that shit out.

  • I am trying to get the party attention. If people research libertarian principles that would be great for Dr. Paul's old(truly his) party. Is Barr the best candidate? No, Ron Paul is.....I am just settling for second best. I will always fight for the liberty for campaign. While I'm at it I am going to project the libertarian message as far as possible. I don't do it for Barr or to convince people Barr is Ron Paul. Don't tell ME what I am doing! You don't know me, let's keep it that way!

  • He has spread the message of liberty more than anyone I know in my life. He is a good man who will continue to fight for this country. Someday new people like BJ Lawson will come up and fight for liberty with honesty! For now, on with the message of liberty!

  • Too bad he did get elected, numerous times in texas. The presidency evaded him this year, but that doesn't make him unelectable. The fact is his message resonates with millions of americans, and his campaigns over the last couple decades have proved that, even he couldnt make it all the way in 08.

  • He will never, ever get erected.

  • Barr and the libertarian party will get the federal government out of medical marijuana.

  • My original post came from wiki. Which dictionary would you like me to use?

  • This cite came from Merriam-Webster:

1: the quality or state of being free: a: the power to do as one pleases b: freedom from physical restraint c: freedom from arbitrary or despotic control d: the positive enjoyment of various social, political, or economic rights and privileges e: the power of choice

  • "Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master."

    ~George Washington

  • People who hate government can't govern effectively. Is that obvious to anyone else?

  • its not the government he hates... Barr is not an anarcho-capitolist (although I have to admit most libertarians are), which is the most primitive form of government... He wants the appropriate amount of governemt. Conversely I could say, doesnt someone who loves government make a good dictator??? vague generalities do not make a good argument

  • I consider myself a libertarian, but after watching this video, and several other videos of Barr, I am not convinced he is. His excuse for supporting the war and patriot act was pretty much, "but they said they would do a good job" any one who truly values individual rights(and that is what a libertarian is suppose to value most) would not support these acts no matter how good of job they thought the government would do. He did not even seem remorseful. In my opinion this man is no Ron Paul.

  • VOTE=VOICE. Unless the election is decided by a single vote, your vote doesn't affect the outcome, so vote your opinion and give yourself a voice.

  • Wake-up America!

Bob Barr is the best choice "We The People" have this election.

If you want America to be great again, vote Barr.

  • Movies lover like you who are deeply "entertained" by the mass media wanted to talk politics, go and get yourself educated, watch "America:Freedom to Fascism", watch my collects of the favorites to get yourself educated.

  • Um, no he isn't the best choice for president, Chuck Baldwin is ... after Ron Paul. Do some research...

  • except baldwin wants homosexuality illegal.

  • Chuck Baldwin is an awful choice for president, he is a religious leader, he is a Mike Huckabee gone libertarian. Our problems will not stop until we find a leader that understands that the government is a moral instituttion. Having a president that thinks morality came from a teleological source is as bad as having a socialist (Obama) or a fascist (McCain) as president.

  • Sorry, most people think the guy to too theocratic. Barr is already polling 6% and he is an ally with Ron Paul.

  • ronpaul RONPAUL RONPAULRONPAUL RON PAUL RONPAUL RONPAULRON PAUL RONPAULRON PAUL RONPAUL

  • @mialst no

  • If the subversives at the RNC don't get Ron in somehow, Bob is our only VIABLE alternative for Liberty! This should be a no-brainer for most people, if they would only LOOK FOR THEMSELVES and NOT just take TV's word for it!

  • That doesn't even make sense... Your vote counts for a certain percentage no matter who you vote for.

  • Good anti-GOP rant by Barr.

I'll still probably vote for Baldwin instead.

  • Please don't.

Baldwin is a loony 9/11 conspiracy theorist and closer to the GOP than Barr, or arguably McCain. He's far too right-wing and voting for him is a ridiculous step backward for third parties everywhere. I urge you to reconsider your inclinations and review some of Barr's policies conflicted with Baldwin's, and try to reconcile them with your own.

  • A followup on the Freedom Fest in Las Vegas. The largest annual freedom event in the West. Ron Paul has spoken there before.

Barr is speaking on July 11

"Technology and Government Power - A Deadly Cocktail for Freedom"

Barr is speaking on July 12

    "The Future of Politics"

    See FreedomFest(dot)com for details.

  • I bought into the lie about marijuana at one point......no i see the truth! (even if it is a little hazy) UP THE POT AND POWER TO THE PEOPLE!!!!!

  • If one is to allow their votes to mean anything vote for the LP because they are on the ballot in 49 states, the Constitutional Party has far less ballot access throughout the country

  • Barr is the choice. Dont vote for the flip flopper Mccain or the liberal Obama.

  • I hope McCain doesn't steal too many votes away from him and swing the election to Chairman Mao-bama.

  • Bob... OUTSTANDING JOB!!!!! You're clearly learning how to anticipate and constructivly dissasemble Fox's weak attempt at marginalization. I think you're starting to get the respect you deserve. You were strong, clear, and intellegent. Good Luck!

  • Gotta love this part about Barr, "the libertarian" at 1 min 30 sec: "1971-1978 Official, CIA". Plus he voted for Patriot Act, Iraq war... Wow, what a scam artist.

  • You know one of the reasons I can identify with Barr is because I was a long time republican. It wasn't Bush that made me get away from the party, it was the direction the party was going. I found the LP and even though I didn't agree with everything the party has, but I could identify with it. I did some personal political rethinking. One thing I like about LP is that they don't have special interests. There is no such thing as the "Perfect Candidate", I wish people would stop looking for one.

  • ever watch Penn & Teller Bullshit? On which he admits most Congressman didn't read the Patriot Act?

  • You know I was a Teenager 1982-1999 but that doesn't make me a teenager now. Nice try.

  • Bob barr has the right perceptions, but I don't know can he spark the awareness of American like ron Paul.

  • This interviewer just doesn't get it.. Barr has nothing invested in McCain winning, he even says how he doesn't favor one over the other.. this spoiler argument nonsense is just the next bag of tricks of the status powers to diminish any possible third party, and the press is aiding them.. makes me sick.

  • I was one of the millions of Ron Paul supporters & I encourage all Ron Paul supporters to now vote for Barr or Barrack or Baldwin or Nader.

BUT DON'T VOTE FOR MCCAIN. HE'LL SELL OUT TO THE ISRAELI LOBBY AND KEEP US IN IRAQ UNTIL OUR COUNTRY IS BANKRUPT!

  • Wasn't Barr a former KKK member ??..I'm pretty sure he was

  • No he wasn't, but Senator Byrd was (Democrat)Barr was responsible for impeaching President Clinton.

  • I voted for the Patriot Act -but I did'nt expect them to use it. Voted to give the President a blank check for military intervention in Iraq, uh, but I did'nt expect them to invade and have a war and stay. I voted for everything the libertarian party stands against and that is why they nominated me as best man to represent the party as presidential nominee. Give us a break and go fuck yourself Bob BArrrrr. You give Ron Paul and all his supporters a bad name, that in the name of liberty.

  • Your vote won't count anyway...click on the video above to see!

  • Do not throw your votes meaning away.

    WRITE IN RON PAUL

I will not vote for these wanna be asswipes.

That jackass voted for the Patriot ACT...WTF

  • Bob Barr may not be crystal clear but he is a way better choice than the other 2, I refuse to conform to the other 2 candidates which are so far from what I believe in, therefor my vote will be for this man.

  • So, you are going to throw your vote away?

  • Explain to me how throwing your vote away is standing up for what I believe in? Your asking me to compromise my belief system to vote for the other 2 candidates? In essence your asking me to conform? NO THANKS!!!!!!

  • Well you know Bob Barr isn't going to win, so why even bother? Why not vote for somebody who can win (who more closely represents your view). You may as well not vote.

  • See here is the thing, what your asking me to do is possible. I would consider doing this if the other 2 candidates were even anywhere near worth while, I don't believe in all of Bob Barr's stuff but he is the closest to my belief system. How are things ever going to change in this country if we have people like you who conform to something you probably don't believe in. Nothing will ever change and the country will continue to downfall.

  • But why even bother voting? You know no third party candidate will ever win. I'm a Libertarian, however I vote Republican because I want my vote to count.

Here's the flaw with a multiparty system: The most obscure party will win every time. Here's why. Let's say Bob Barr gets into the debates, and becomes a serious candidate, and we gain a three party system. Assuradley I say to you; a Democrat will win every election.

If the green party is taken more seriously, a Republican will win.

  • You really think your one vote is going to change the election or make the world that much better? It's time to start defending liberty instead of taking what's left of it for grant it!

  • liberty will allways be under assult as long as government is still in existence

  • We need minimal government to preserve the liberty and freedom. Without government there can be no liberty, but.....big government is just as bad as anarchy! Without moderate constitutional liberty values our country will go to the extremes! Obama and McCain are both to the left of the constitution.....believing in their big governments! The constitution was written to maximize individual liberty and to protect the citizens from criminals and government! Preserve the Republic, preserve peace!

  • ummm WTF???? "Without government there can be no liberty" you clearly have no understanding of the meaning of the word liberty

  • Actually, liberty defined identifies the condition in which an individual has the ability to act according to his or her own will as long as they do not infringe on the rights of others. What if someone went around murdering or stealing? This is infringing on the rights of others and justice must be served. Government must be there to ensure a fair trial as well as to administer the proper amounts of justice. WTF do you think liberty is???? Anarchy and mob rule democracy? You don't know liberty!

  • okay, but the government steals large sums of money from you all the time. and i can still murder someone with the government around, i just have a chance of rotting in prison afterwards.

  • I disagree.

  • I vote with cause. Personally I'm fine with John McCain. I vote for him because he supports smaller government, is against Nanny Regulations, and quite frankly he's proven himself by being in a POW camp for 5 years (despite being offered to go home early because of his father's influence, he stayed until the very last man left). Aside from Iraq, I'm fine with McCain.

If Barr was running soeley against Obama I would vote for him. As I described previously multiparty systems don't work.

  • What it comes down to is I refuse to put my name and dignity behind someone like Obama and McCain, I have already made that mistake by supporting Bush just because he was the better candidate. I could care less if it is considered a wasted vote in your opinion but at least when this country goes down I can say I had no part of that! I respect your opinion and philosophy on the party system and actually have had a very surprising clean debate with someone on youtube for once.

  • Here's how I believe it should be. All political parties will nominate a candidate.

Then, the candidates will run for a two party system. The people will vote for a Conservative candidate, and a Liberal candidate (each party will decide if they will run as Conservative or Liberal).

The people will have a choice of multiple parties.

Then, during General Elections, we will have two candidates to choose from.

  • your offering the people one more choice than a dictatorship... its absurd and no better then the current system

canada, new zealand, germany... all have multiparty systems that work very well

  • Canada, New Zealand, and Germany do not directly elect their Executive Branch.

The USA is by far the freest country on the face of the Earth. We have less Nanny Laws, and a smaller government that all European "utopias".

How about we maintain this, and rally against Obama. He is FAR further away from our beliefs than McCain. Don't give into the Dem's "McBush" propaganda, the only similarity between them is the Iraq war.

  • You need to explore the world... the USA is FAR from the freest country in the world... ur deluded by Fox if you actually believe that

The difference between McCain and Obama is minor at best. McCain is so militaristic that he would make Cheney look like Gandhi.

McCain would be a disaster for the principles of liberty America is founded on. In terms of civil liberties, Obama is better - but not by much.

  • I'm actually headed to Africa in a month ;)

And I get my news from the internet.

I've been to Europe and Canada, and I've experienced their insanely high tax rates. When I was living in Montana, I would always meet Canadians at the local supermarket shopping. (A 4% sales tax is much better than a 11% sales tax).

Europe has become one big country under the EU. It is largely stagnet and impossible to advance under oppressive Nanny Laws and taxes. Hell in Germany you can be fined for cursing

  • What kinda country are you living in buddy? we may have the best liberty and freedom but were in a very bad state right now. We have a never ending war pointless war, the economy is completely ruined, and you want to say don't believe in Obama? sfu and every1 else because your to blame for me losing my brother in Iraq, me paying $4 for gas, and why when i go to Europe people look down at me because i'm American.

  • McCain may support smaller government than Obama but from his views on foreign policy and inflation it looks like it still will be a pretty damn large government.

  • I'm going to vote for Barr but I wish when he was interviewed that he wouldn't just go for talking points like all other politicians do...

  • Next Sunday Barr on "This Week with George Stephanopoulos"

  • What I like about Barr is that one I can relate to him and two he clearly stated that it took decades for government to get this big. He want to put the brakes on the ever increasing size and put it in reverse. I am tired of people wanting big and flashy changes. The best changes usually are multiple small ones when they add up it would be a big change. But we live in a "get your burger in 2 minutes or less" society, so its no surprise I see a lot of whining that he isn't doing anything radical.

  • What a joke this interview. Not that Barr is a true Libertarian, but that was just ridiculous.

Faux News is so fucking bias.

  • More accurately qualitating, but the argument can be made for statistical analysis.

  • The anchor had one strong point with his non-libertarian voting record. I imagine he played to his constituency but I certainly hope he gets some votes. Obama! (Lincoln had less time in national politics) That's what change and liberalism is about--quantifying the new guy!

  • would this be the new guy who voted "present" on every controversial issue rather than yes or no?

No one in any forum has been able to quantify a single thing that he's done or stands for (with the exception of raising taxes). Sorry, I'd rather have a change that MEANS something

  • Sports, maybe youd like to elaborate when you say Paul is nuts. Secondly, all the primaries showed was that problem isnt with Paul, but the Public.

  • No. what the primaries showed is they thought paul was nutty, just like Kucinich and Gravel..Ever See paul make an ass out of himself in his earlier years...he was hilarious chasing Morton Downy around the stage like a 2 year on on national TV

  • WE WANT RON PAUL - AND NOT I SAY NOT you B. Barr. His voting record speaks the truth - yours smells.

  • Who is this "We?"

  • This is good, but Barr should make a point of explaining why he became a Libertarian.

Bob Barr's story of becoming a card-carrying Libertarian is a compelling one -- he witnessed the federal government abusing power and radically increasing spending. He could not in good conscience remain a Republican. His response to the post-911 hysteria is unique, courageous and deserving of the support of freedom-loving Americans.

  • When Barr apologizes for going WAY overboard on impeachment, I'll begin to take him seriously. History is already laughing at that gang of hypocrites - the punishment FAR exceeding the crime. Priorities (lol) - What a WASTE of time and $. Sure, he SOUNDS good NOW - as his "former" party is DOGSH*T, but it makes NO sense for a REAL libertarian to vote for a misguided Republican with his finger to the political wind.

He's got a LOT more explaining to do on matters PRIOR to Bush 2001.

  • another one saying that people don't have the ability to change or be misled

  • "I" am not saying that at all and I DO think people can change. What I "am" saying is that I have heard a LOT from Barr on (obvious) mistakes made "2001 to present". I am MORE interested in hearing Barr explain (or renounce) the PRE-Bush mistakes, specifically HIS role in impeaching the most "fiscally responsible" president we've had in decades.

  • As Comptroller General David Walker pointed out, Clinton's programs were expanded, not reduced. He just happened to be in the right place at the right time, not what I'd call "fiscally responsible."

  • Well, yes, anybody who voted for Ron Paul knows that real problem is "spending", but Clinton did RUN specifically on deficit reduction and the deficits DID, in fact, begin to get smaller his FIRST year (with NO "R" votes), a couple years BEFORE Barr & Co., came to power. "Responsible" (in quotes) as in relatively speaking . . . living within your means (albeit spending too much).

  • yeah, it's funny when the Democrats are more Conservative.

  • I'm writing in Ron Paul. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to vote for someone I actually believe in.

  • In Re. to e8spam: You see, this shows something I really like about todays america: People are impassioned enough to want to get away from the two party system and vote who they REALLY want to see in office.

However, is Bab Barr's youtube site the right place for this kind of thing? (not you e8, I mean the slander that pops up) The people here are mainly Barr supporters and in most cases slander of him is just a waste of time.

  • If you vote for

    1. Bob Barr

    2. Obama

    3. McCain

    you are on drugs!

Write in Ron Paul or your vote is a wasted joke.

  • Why cast a vote that in 99.9% of states won't even be recorded..besides paul sucks as the primaries showed...

  • Many Ron Paul supporters were independents, democrats, libertarians, etc., and could not switch parties in time to vote for Ron Paul in their respective primaries. That is why he had such poor showings.

  • that's a crock..I'm registered republican in my state and you had months to change your registration..paul lost because he's nuts...You folks sure got a shitload of excuses

  • Wait, you're a registered Republican and you want to talk about people being racist? This from the party who elected Strom "Segregation" Thurmond countless times. Barr made a mistake and was quick to admit it and publicly denounce the CoCC and their racist beliefs. Unlike most politicians, he admits it when he makes a mistake. Sounds like "registered Republicans" must be pretty threatened by this man to attack him this much...

  • So the political party that was created for abolition of slavery is racist? What about the Democrats? They elected former KKK member Robert Byrd many times.

  • I'm an independent, but in my state independents can't vote in primaries..Son, when someone makes a racist comment it is no mistake, it is what they are thinking..The mistake was letting it go public..Obama will be your new Momma

  • And the Dollar is as good as gold - RIGHT

  • Gold is $150 off it's high, and the overall value of the dollar is not of any concern to me...

  • Sportsstar67,

Dollar of no concern to you. OK so your some guy hanging from a baobab in Bantustan, great no worries, have a good life.

  • Nope, I'm in a mid Atlantic state in the USA, and life's fantastic..I don't sweat the small stuff

  • Sportsstar67,

So I guess you're paid in dinars in the mid Atlantic states, great no problem good luck to ya m8.

  • That was a response to sportsstar67, btw

  • In 1998, Barr gave the keynote speech at the national convention of the Council of Conservative Citizens; a hate group that routinely denigrated blacks as "genetically inferior," complained about "Jewish power brokers," called homosexuals "perverted sodomites," and accused immigrants of turning America into a "slimy brown mass of glop."

  • From the Anti-Defamation League website: "Of the three major politicians implicated in the scandal, Bob Barr is probably the one who deserves the least criticism. His connection appears to have been limited to one event, and it is true, as he has said, that some of the literature he was given (you can see one example for yourself) is not overt about racism. Moreover, and to his credit, he has strongly denounced the Council multiple times and been quick to do so."

  • ROFL..I see, he's just a little racist..

  • Why I support Bob Barr over Chuck

    Baldwin:

    1. Experience: Barr is FAR more qualified for the job of president than Baldwin because of his vast experience in politics and law. Don't write him off because of past mistakes. I believe he is genuine in his change of heart on issues like the Patriot Act and the Iraq War.

    2. The Constitution party currently is too theocratic, so it won't have broad appeal to pluralistic American society.

  • I'm a die hard Ron Paul supporter and will NOT be supporting Bob Barr. Just look at his record... NOTHING like Ron Paul.

  • As a die hard Ron Paul supporter, which would you prefer, McCain, Obama, or Barr? It's a no brainer. His flaws are FAR less than the others. Don't waste your vote. With Dr. Paul out of the race, Barr is our BEST choice.

  • Here's the deal, ruthelator: I'm also a Ron Paul supporter and I have no intention of voting for a Republican or a Dem. Essentially that means that whomever I vote for is not going to win and that my vote is for protest and consciousness-raising purposes only. If I'm just voting as a protest and not to actually elect someone, why should I compromise my libertarian principles (which is what a vote for Bob Barr would be)? The best of several very bad choices isn't good enough.

  • Take a hard look at their voting records in the past two years, they've been aligning more and more.

  • Another Faux News attempt to discredit someone who challenges the neocon status quo. Hopefully American is wising up and won't fall for it.

Join Bob Barr's Money Bomb on July 2!

  • Barr is a great candidate

  • Another note- I just hate Fox network!

  • Did you hear how that anchor twisted Barr's answer direction on the patriot act to call it a act applying to foriengers?

Betweeen bi-partisen poilitics and these corporate sponsered media conglomerates. Disgusting!

Barr's explanation of the marriage act needed to be left to the states is good, yet questioinable from both perspectives.

I prefer Nader however I will watch This candidate.

  • Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I don't see how one can be pro-Nader and pro-Barr at the same time. Nader is even more socialist than Obama, at least in my understanding. Barr, and the Libertarian Party, stands for freedom and liberty. Nader is on the other end of that spectrum in my opinion. Thanks.

  • I am nt looking so much at individual idealogy outside of each candidates CORE ethics and constituitional understanding. Also the money trains associated witrh each. In the latter regard, Nader wins hands down. Just an opinion

  • I've looked up his record, it states he worked for the CIA. It didn't say he was an agent, and highly doubt it would be posted anywhere if he were. You can't really judge someone if they just so happen to work with an agency or organization that has done something negative in the past. I mean that's like saying a person who works as a CPA or IT specialist for a corporation is as guilty as a criminal executive.

  • Except for the fact that he's also a hypocrite.

    Check his voting record.

  • Check his reasoning on these votes also.

  • when barr voted for the things he is against now he voted for them because like everyone else the government told us they were going to use them for reasons other than how they use them now. i.e. - the patriot act was supposed to help catch people communicating with terrorist groups but its been used more for the war on drugs. the government lied to everyone and so alot of people are against things they supported years ago.

  • WOW! somebody finally gets it!!

    :)

    thank you.

I am so freaking sick of everyone trying to use Barr "voting record" against him.

McCain voted in favor of the patriot Act.

Obama is voted in favor of FISA (a portion of the patriot act)

Barr voted in favor of an early version of the patriot act.

but who is the only one currently trying to fight against the patriot act?

    Barr.

  • exactly everyone voted for it when they were tricked into thinking it was going to be used for good

  • @filmdude42

I like Barr and am one of his supporters of what he preaches now but it's only fair to criticize his record when he indeed voted for the Iraq Resolution and the original Patriot Act. Members of the House had no chance to read it and there was no debate on the floor for the Patriot Act. So he should be criticized for voting for it.

  • They keep asking the same questions over and over again.

  • Id vote barr over the other two liars
