Hunter is a attacking class he got powerful melee and can incap fast however he isn't like smoker he must rush though group and pray that his teamate gonna help him to deal more damage, the most dumb idea ever would be to steal a smoker kill (when you knew he caught it of course or else you didn't really wanted to do it) with other survivors around coming to help him (still people think l4d is about i get more points than my team and too bad for others they can die well its like that you loose)

in the video, a hunter's clawing does not rival the tank's punch. The tank punch and rock throw take off 24 hp compared to the hunter's 10 dps when clawing

There was actually this one time where I was playing as a Hunter in No Mercy, and I was on the rooftop, waiting for a 25 damage pounce. I leaped, and missed my target. I overshot by a few inches. i was getting ready to turn around in mid-air, but while I was still airborne, some dumbass walks out behind my target, and I got a 24 damage pounce!

It seems like some of the Survivor teams here prefer to melee Hunters instead of just shooting them, which lets you keep pouncing different people. I haven't seen this happen much in L4D2, they either shoot or spam melee so I can't attack after pouncing someone.

It also incaps the survivors more quickly and therefore lets you get more people from the team down....

The concept of securing is really important and has added a lot to my play, so thanks a lot.

I hope everyone gets that hunter melee now does 6dmg and setting yourself on fire doesnt increase your damage anymore.

Also, its not the vertical velocity that makes certain pounces do more damage, its the increased distance from A to B.

I kinda hated that the only real good map for pouncing in L4D "Blood harvest" is, I really like pouncing, I can do 15+damage pounces almost every time, on blood harvest that is :P I love the hunter, I love this guide, I am using the claws far more often now, and not only as a last resort :)

I hate it that in L4D2 you don't get to play Hunter as often as in L4D. Thumbs up if you agree.

P.s. when people do the tactic of hiding behind the witch people can sometimes shoot you-do it with a boomer and the explosion can make the witch go straight away!!!

And for team work one hide behind the witch, another almost out of sight then when they go for the 1st person, the 2nd must use his smokers tongue to pull them into the witch-it works a treat me n someone did it 1st time !!! (im not trying to be pro-but helpful)

In versus mode, it seems that the team that cooperates more totally always pwns the other team. It would be interesting to see two teams of skilled players that cooperate masterfully go against each other. The ambushes and how the survivors deal with them would be veeeeerrryy interesting. @Kyosukedono things about l4d1 vs mode that can determine who wins: skill, death of survivor,and incapacitation of a survivor. i've noticed that if the survivor team is very skilled chances are they all might make it to the saferoom. its VERY important in both l4d games, but it's more noticeable in the first one and since there's less infected things will get complicated if your up against a survivor team that knows how to play correctly, one survivor in l4d1 one can make a BIG difference.

Hunters need Boomers to blind the survivors and make them vulnerable to hundreds of commons and Smokers to separate the survivors so that the survivors become stragglers, since Hunters are lethal against stragglers, but crap against aware, grouped survivors, etc...

The Director has an obsession with teams that use first aid kits on eachother, and it will quite often avoid spawning tanks at all throughout the entire campaign as long as they occasionally heal eachother. It also gives them huge piles of medpacks. It's quite funny, really.

@Jayc3Bryant dont forget the charger and hunter combo. both can do TONS of damage, the hunter,spitter,jockery,and boomer are all the chargers best friend. and the charger can charge survivors of building, and like the hunter he can do alot of damage in a few seconds and like the boomer are great ambusher,just spawn around a corner and charge and they most likey wont dodge u.
