I is my hope that you will take the time and effort to educate yourselves about these issues, and no, sound bites and broadcast "news reports" do not count. And, for all our sakes, please engage your critical mind when any one tells something. Instead of acting like, "this person/group said it, so it must be true.
The questions I hope you are all asking yourselves should be, "What are these candidates policy positions on the matters that count in this country. Such as; Heaslth Care, Job Creation, Housing, Taxes, Crime, National Defense and Education." There is no excuse for the ignorance on the candidates positions I have been reading about these important issues.
If you ask me, the debate was split and here is why.
Bidin used good information. He clearly used his points in an organized mannor. Info wise he won.
However, he failed to relate to the common man. Palin did. Common man will choose the next president and Sarah did a good job of relating to them.
What does it mean? I don't know. I'll say this though, look at how Sarah defended McCain through the whole night, while Biden did it in small spurts. Kinda makes me a bit curious a bit.
Palin talks about "Average American families like hers" yet, she has a pregnant daughter, a son in the was to cover up the drug speculation, she's the governor of Alaska, ex-beauty queen, dodging subpoenas, makes money for living in a mansion, has a tanning bed in her house, and supports Bush 100%.
What's your point? Nothing you said debates any point that I made. How many common people have pregnant, unmarried daughters, or have children with drug issues? A whole lot. Yeah she's not perfectly normal, but still her experiances relate to several people.
By the way, I had a teacher, a teacher who had a spa and tanning bed in their house.
As far as supporting Bush, what does that have to do with ANYTHING I talked about?
How about you DEFEND your guy, instead of attacking the other.
I'm not defending anyone. I'm not even voting. I just think anyone who takes Palin seriously is an idiot. McCain only picked her for votes, she obviously wouldn't help America.
I see what you mean. Both candidates really are severely lacking something.
I really don't take Sarah seriously either. She's repetitive and poorly informed. However, she can relate to the middle class and they respond to her. That makes her popular.
It's all about votes. The dems are making a huge point about how bad Bush is, yet they had control of congress during this time. Funny how CNN never mentions that huh?
I hate partisan politics. Why can't we all be independent?
Was he in FL? He looks so dark. They gave him black makeup so he didn't look like whiteout? White hair and white face? Makes him look older? He looks funny.
I dont get some of you who say Palin won. Im a registered independent. What I saw last night made me less and less likely to vote for McCain when he has someone who refuses answer or dodges questions.
What debate were you watching? Ive watched this debate twice........when did Palin answer more than 3 questions the whole night? You cant win a debate if you cant give straight answers. In her case I was wondering if I was going to get an answer at all.
What are you talking about? In this clip alone Palin doesn't even know what she's being asked! She's asked if she's ever changed her mind on any issues and EVEN AFTER hearing Biden answer how he changed his opinion, she still thinks the question is whether she ever had to COMPROMISE on anything. But obviously you either already made up your mind about who you're voting for and just are trying to find support for your position without critically assessing the situation.
Keep in mind though, that Sarah had several criticisms that Biden couldn't answer as well. Also, she mentioned how Biden changed his mind very shortly after joining the Obama ticket which Biden couldn't defend.
Also, think about foreign policy and meeting the leaders without precondition, the fact that he would do that scares me and Biden couldn't defend that either.
That being said, I think that Sarah was repetitive and never really answered what she needed. It was close. No clear winner
I'm not voting for either ticket, but as a former lifelong Dem, I learned that personal ethics are more important than party lines.
I will go down in flames before I'd ever vote for a man who gets angry because his quote was put second on the front page of a foreign newspaper in favor of that countries PRIME MINISTER. Bad, that is what I call Barack Obama, and I don't care what anyone thinks. He is egotistical & self righteous. BAD!

great debate- Palin proved she's much more ready to be one heartbeat away then Obama is to be no heartbeats away... I'll take her resume over his earth moving speeches and zero accomplishments anyday... The unaccomplished smooth talking lawyer clearly is the 4th best qualified in this race!!
Joe Biden answered all the questions with clarity and good ideas,Palin,on the other hand ""struggle'' to say again and again the same lines that she force-memorized in her ''debate camp''.
