man I am from Canada and our university stadiums are not as good as a texas high school stadium and the crowds are so much smaller....i so wish i was born in the states simply that i could play some awesome football lol but oh well football is football and i live for it....btw love the movie (Friday Night Lights)

I think a lot of the reason for that is the fact that El Paso has always had its own district. Towns like Abilene and Odessa are passionate because it's a matter of civic pride--they want to prove who's the best in the west.
