Great song, great video and GREAT VOCALS! Have been looking for this for some time. Thank you. Funny how at the end of the video Grace looks like Blackie Lawless
Good ole Grace. The queen of rock. The video sucks but she looks great. Not a bad song, shame about the naff lyrics, timeless sound to it all the same. Can't deny that.
The truth of it though: she was musically dead by the time she was 30 but wrung another 20 years out of it. Can't fault her for it, they all do it.
Tip of the hat to ya Grace, you were the original and best.
this was a great release in 1981 when pat benetar was the only one making "hard rock" (supposedly) back then. this record would have been even better if it was recorded in the mid 1980s when the guitar sounds become much harder.
@jakeenan Musically dead by 30? She just wrote a great song last year about the BP Oil spill. She co-wrote it with singer songwriter Michelle Mangione. Its called Edge Of Madness ! Its a great tune:)
@Premiess80 Of course she can write a great song, she's a songwriter, even though she's long retired and in her 70's. Musically by dead by 30? Too right she was. Go read her book she's said it herself. There's a point with every artist where they're not relevant anymore. They know it and us fans smell it a mile off if we're honest. Don't mean they stop doing what they do. They gotta make money. But every now and then they produce a gem....And our Grace has done that, sure.
@jakeenan She's very hard on herself thats why she left the buisness early. That & being older in Rock N Roll she doesn't agree with which I understand. I know the Starship stuff from 1985 on had to be for the money. She only talks badly of that horseshit as she puts it.lol
@flipper803 Me too! I have an LP rip on CD, but an official CD release would be superb! And who knows... may happen one of these days. A lot of albums I never thought would see a CD release eventually did. There are a lot of smaller record companies that are somehow getting rights to re-release old albums on CD, either long out of print or ones never released. We'll keep our fingers crossed! ;)
The album "Welcome to the wrecking ball" has been released on CD in 1991.
