im a begginer at the hobby i was wondering would this be the best helicopter for me or would you want me to get another my bithday is this upcoming month i want to get one.
@assasinsINC A 4ch coaxial heli a much better option. To learn you WILL crash, Find one that looks robust andis not too expensive, or too small. it will most likely not live too long while you learn. Also it is full 4ch, so does have all of the proper movement controls a helicopter has. It is also dual rotor (coaxial) so is very stable and forgiving while you learn the controls. It will not fly quickly like the one in the video however
this is a nice lookin chopper and all, but i got mine and it was broken upon arrival!!! it won't take off because the gears don't touch! very disappointing because my family is going on vacation friday and this was supposed to be mine and my father's heli to fly on vacation :/
i had one of these, but it was the airwolf edition (got it from nitroplanes). i turned right around & sold it because i couldnt fly it for the life of me. would that be because it was the airwolf edition & not the original, or is it just a harder heli to fly?
i want to get back into helis if i can. I have a $150 limit on what i can afford, & i need at least 4-channel. but i need something thats also beginner friendly. any suggestions?
So is the madhawk 300 with the other body (camo or marine version) on it customizable? and could i buy the more sporty looking cover and remove the body on this camoheli and transfer the sport body to the other one?
Hi,Im a complete beginner but have had a little experience with trucks and cars.Im being told to start off on a coaxial due to having now flight experience but was wondering how much harder something like this would be for a beginner?,thanks
OK, i swear that i've heard with a 2.4 Ghz that you turn the remote on first and then plug in the battery, but he clearly states in the very beginning that you should plug in the battery first on this video. Can someone clear that up for me? thanks
YOU CAN SAVE ALOT OF MONEY AND ANGER WITH THIS IF YOU JUST FLY IT INTO A TRAIN AT FULL THROTTLE WHEN YOU FIRST GET IT!!! THIS WAY YOU WONT WASTE MONEY BY REPAIRING IT EVERY TIME IT CRASHES as IT BREAKS every single crash!!!! AND GOOD LUCK GETTING REPLACEMENT PARTS HERE!!!
doesn't matter who made it or what model or size it is.
ALWAYS check the spare parts availability AND cost for any heli you want before you buy.
i got a little electric hughes 500 for $150 and bought $200 worth of spare parts because it was being discontinued and i have been able to fly and crash it for the last 4 years so that purchase worked out but some others have really turned out bad.
Hi been watching your video, I'm relatively new to this hobby. used to fly 3ch, should I go with 6 channel? or 4ch? if 4ch which one do you recommend madhawk 300 or Walkera cb180z? which of these 2 are better? Thanks.
In? the minute 02:51 I can see this Heli has the same BALANCE PROBLEM just like mine... loads to the right side of the ship. That's no a good deal I GUESS
This hobby is too much fun to let a few miserable losers try and spoil it for the rest of us. My only bad experience has been with an ebay company Technicala, also known as RC-World-International.. The prices are more expensive than other stores and there is NO WARRANTY and NO RETURNS! They sometimes ship broken parts or something other than you ordered and then you are stuck with it. The nastiness of their “customer service” is unprecedented BANANAHOBBY AND XHELI IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

@xhelicopter Hey Tony you should of done some fast forward flight with the MADHAWK 300..I have this heli and it can fly fast if you adjust the control linkages..I just hate that the aleron servo jerks it to the side sometimes and causes it to crash..Maybe you can tell how to solve that..But nice heli..She flies better than a 4 ch coaxial though, way faster and more agile!!
Does anyone know the proper way to adjust the sensitivity... i turned it both ways and can't see any difference...my copter as a tendentcy to want to do 50* dives for the ground even when there it very little wind
I have the CB180Q and as soon as I let the controls go (right stick) it goes forward and a little to the right not drifting but real fast How can I fix this?

@TheEgoFanBoy if your new start off with a coaxial micro heli...they are hard to break .. and can be flown indoors...then move to madhawk after 4-6 hours of flight time or a week or two pratice which ever comes first...
Attention XHeli... I Need help with Madhawk...I received this madhawk april 2 (2 days ago),and i can't seem to get it to stop spinning...i also noticed when hold heli in one hand tail rotor will stop completey even with 1/2 or more throttle when the main rotor is spinning...can you tell me what i need to try to get this hel to stop spinning...thanks
@3255959 I strongly recommend that you call our tech support for this one, There is a gyro control for the tail and it will only spin up to counter the momentum of the helicoper. If you haven't please adjust the trim tabs on the bottom and left of the joysticks until the helicopter starts behaving appropriately
@xhelicopter ... Yes i used up all trim adjust from radio and it still spins approx 1 revolution per second...since there are no instructions on how to adjust gyro setting for tail rotor can anyone tell me how to do this...if not i will call your tech
I'll tell you what ticks me off, is the trim are set to extreme and with out tear the heli apart there'd be no flying it the way i received it, so it's not rtf!!!
Attention xheli rep,Will the New 2009 falcon lipo battery..work in this madhawk heli..i know its only 800mah and not 1000...i just want extra batteries and since the 1000 mah batts are not in stock..i just want to make sure the falcon batteries will work without any mods before i order this copter from you guys... thanks
Flying the helicopter over 100ft away from you is not really recommended for this helicopter as wind can slowly draft it away. Yes 2.4ghz has a super wide range and can reach up to those measurements, but only fly within range
You said in the video that you moved the links to the middle hole in the mixing arm for more control. What else did you have to do to make that adjustment work. I tried that and it just wobbled around a lot.
ive been waiting on this helicopter for my brother, i just ordered it for him i just hope he and i want be disappointed i ordered it before and it was out of stock i got an email from xheli saying this heli was in stock keep me informed tony im depending on you gw 11dustoff
so i turned the gyro sensitive and the other one 1 quarter turn .. it didnt help so i turned it the opposite to the way it was . maybe a lil towards the - it went back to normal .. lol .. not messing with that again .whats the difference between the dragonfly and this model?
thats not true! mine will not go past 80 ft i wont get a tape measure because i know it wont go far. im new so i dont mind but i hate to think i have a defective transmitter . either way .. im satisfied, but still .. you should know..
That's an iteresting two-step you did with the range issue, xhelicopter. It's a big difference from "as far as your sight lets you see" to ""80 ft is still quite decent."
80 feet doesn't reach from home plate to first base.
Is the range on this thing really that short? Even 100 feet is very short, no?
Yes, your trans, reciever or batteries are bad,or maybe you were trying to fly in a placelike the devils tiangle..even the worst radio trans from of 30 years ago went a few hunderd feet...and 2.4gig is very advanced
Tony, can you switch back and forth from the scale canopy to the sport canopy? I learned to fly helis on the lama v4 and the blazing star. I got really bored with the blazing star because it was soooooo easy to fly so I sold it. I still have the lama and I want to upgrade to a fixed pitched heli. Is this the best one for my upgrade? Or should I just go to a full blown 3d ship?
Switching from sports canopy to a scale canopy is not as easy as it seems since the scale canopy is glued on. I would suggest you start on a fixed pitch before moving on to a 6ch. Learn how it maneuvers so you won't spend countless dollars learning on a 6ch
well i order my madhawk 300 on saturday, i want to know when will xheli shipped it out. second im worried because now it say out of stock and when i buy it, it didnt say out of stock. i hope they dont tell me that is out of stock and they cant send it
Usually all orders are processed on Business days so if you ordered it on saturday then it would ship on on Monday, You can check your tracking number after 8pm Pacific time to see if your item is shipped. If it is not shipped then the item might be out of stock, Check with our customer service the next day if that happens
Usually inventory is updated during business hours, we are closed during the holidays so inventory might be incorrect at that time. When we do ship out the madhawk on monday we package until there is none left, then update the site to be out of stock. - You can call us from 9am - PM Pacific time
This might seem like a silly question but I am totally new to this stuff. Are these Madhawk 300s for outdoor only? Are they dangerous to fly around indoors? Thanks guys!
If there is little to no wind then the Madhawk will fly with ease outdoors. It can fly indoors as well but make sure you have enough space. Remember the wind can be the helicopters worst enemy, and you will need to be an expert to avoid a blow of the wind
Hi 3d Tony I have bought one of these the red and white one. But I need to get more left and right movement out of it . I have to give the right stick alot of input just to get the heli to move left or right. and also I have the forward / backward trim set to all the way backwards and the heli still goes forward. Let me know what to do. Thanks
I fly a 450 size heli but when I see this review this heli is perfect for training orientations like nosi-in hoover . Like tony said . Nice part when he let go of the controls the bird almost stayed in place drifted a bit because of the wind, but it amazed me!!!! This heli sure is good beginner heli I think.
i like the FP copters. there fun and less stress. but would it kill the makers to put brushless motors?? kinda sick of having to buy a after market brushless kits, this is the only reason right now that i wont but one of thses
I should think it is. As you saw, it's coax stable due to the Bell stabilizer, but your average coax hesitates on cyclic commands, not this heli. Throw on training gear, charge the Lipo and get busy!
I just received mine yesterday. I cant get it to hover. It always banks right. Any solutions?

absolutey!!!
you are 100% correct.
for all the new kids out there, if you turn on your receiver 1st it may pick up stray signals that tell it to fly away (without pilot input).
this always ends in disaster, sometimes injury.
it is usually funny though.

Nice helicopter.Now make a 500 size with brush-less motors.If i didn't already have 4 honeybees I would buy on in a minute.

Is this a good beginner helicopter?

I should think it is. As you saw, it's coax stable due to the Bell stabilizer, but your average coax hesitates on cyclic commands, not this heli. Throw on training gear, charge the Lipo and get busy!
Tony- thanks! Nice demo!
