@d3tach3d GW is a twitch based game, this one was more resource management of luring enemies into blackholes and building the blackholes up for massive multiplyers. In GW, you go round in a circle and shoot and survive waves, whilst in this one the slower pace means you can build up black hole multiplyers. So althuogh it looks like cut and paste it plays very very different.

holy shit that's awesome

you know what's fun? the more enemies black holes eat, the more points you get if you kill one. in fact your points are proportionate to the square of the number of enemies the black hole ate. so thats the way to mega points. I've killed black holes before and seen as many as 9 extra lives appear all at once. Usually that's after letting it eat stuff for 10-20 mins. (You have to keep it under control by shooting at it when it gets big.)

There's only one thing that annoys me in this game. Bullet speed. Sometimes I feel like driving onto them in desperate attempt to 'push' them to go faster. I know there's a faster bullets powerup. I'd rather call it Make bullets go like they should.

Aside from that the game's great. And holy cow, what on earth is that.

i downloaded the link for the first grid wars, and as soon as i got into the game, my pc slowed down by like 400%. that, and i couldn't find out how to move, and when i went into "controls" my PC froze... is this game played with a joystick... or is my PC just old and retarded?

well, it obviously a retro arcade game adapted from a console game, all controlled with a gamepad. additionally, being able to speed up like you can with a mouse (and cannot with a gamepad) renders the harassment of the magnet-shaped villains with the front-shielding and the small triangles virtually to non-existance, since you (and anyone) _easily_ can avoid them. thus.

A quick search showed me that in order to "Not Cheat" on this game I will have to pay around 20 USD, something I'm not willing to spend on something both free and lacking in new content.

IMHO having to pay in order to not cheat completely nullifies your original statement on the matter.

AFAIK, the original game was in Project Gotham racing 2 as an easter egg. Bizarre Creations then decided to make it a standalone game on Xbox Live Arcade. The game was awesome, but it wasn't for any other platform, so eventually people made clones for the PC and GridWars stood out. But then Bizarre made GeoWars for the PC and they told the GridWars creator to stop, or we'll sue your ass...so basicly this is not the original game.

I didn't. They spawn, you can hear them when they do, but there are very few.... I don't know why there were so few, but that's just how the game played for me. I'm sure it's fairly random, or at least not scripted in its entirety, so.... Yeah.

You should'nt link to the game, it's not permitted by bizarre creations. But anyway, everybody can google for it. This isn't the original game, only to say it. It's a ripoff and the steam game is the original. But you have really good showed the game limits.

Your computer tends to.... slow down after so much crap happening.... You can really see it getting bad toward the end.... Don't get me wrong, I have a really nice computer, the game doesn't clean its memory, so after a long time, it gets very slow.... It ended up crashing my computer at around 9 in the morning....
